  1. LOL, the 448 core does not suck, its just not at its full potential or cost efficient if you do not OC. Sucks... lol. The card should beast this game. I mean its nearly as fast or a bit faster depending on the bench as a 6950 (especially if it is not flashed).

definitely doesn't suck. when overclocked correctly it can rival the stock 570 or pass it.

  2. Peter Jackson for his upcoming Hobbit movie is filming at 48 frames a second, not the normal 24 frames a second movies today use. This will make his movie reach a new level of high definition. The same applies to your monitor refresh rates from your computer.

at 6k resolution and 3d with RED 3d cameras!

    DROOOOOLLLLLLL!

  3. They are not the same.

If you have a high resolution monitor, IE resolution greater than 1920 x 1080, you cannot use a HDMI connection and run a resolution higher than 1920 x 1080.

A DVI connection will allow you to run at resolution above 1920 x 1080.

Again, people, do your freaking homework and stop buying into the false idea that HDMI is as good as standard PC display connections.

    correct about hdmi

    wrong about dvi

dual link dvi does higher than 1920x1080 or at 120hz or 3d

  4. Just a note...Happily playing Star Wars on my plasma. Actually play all my PC games on the plasma. Have used my 42" plasma as my main display for over 3 years now, and I don't have burn in.

Luckily new Plasma TV's have settings built into them that reduce the so called burn in. In addition they also have black and white washes to clear the burn in *if* it happens. :D

indeed you are correct. Plasma burn in is a thing of the early generation. There is also a difference between image retention and burn in.

  5. Like another poster said, "I can't read the text when using HDMI.".

Why? Cause image is not that great through HDMI.

I never ever said to convert a digital out to VGA in or vice versa. I said that a VGA connection will deliver a crisper readable image compared to HDMI when it comes to a computer connection.

This is not just my perception. I work with a group of engineers and we do 3d modeling for a major construction project and we use DVI or VGA connections exclusively on the large TVs because HDMI image quality sucks across multiple TVs and brands and screen sizes.

Anyone that says othewise has just been too lazy to really check it out and test it.

  6. I have a portable PC that has HDMI out, VGA out and DisplayPort Out.

I have visually tested all three on several different TVs and with multiple people.

Every single time, DisplayPort > VGA > HDMI.

    Test it for yourself DERP.

    nononono lets get this straight.... dp >= dvi-dl > dvi >= hdmi > component >= vga > s-video >rca

  7. if your tv has a dvi connection then use it.

However from my experience it is more common that they have vga.

Hdmi is not going to deliver a better pc image than vga or dvi.

Btw, what happend to your claim that vga only supports 720p? Lol

    derp.

when are you going to realize that hdmi and dvi are the same damn thing. same thing internally. just different connector and hdmi carries audio.

and find a tv that does greater than 1280x720 with vga. you won't.

  8. U seem mad? Go have a cookie badie.

DisplayPort is superior to HDMI and will become the standard eventually. Problem is that HDMI is so imbedded that the change over is slow.

Also if VGA is so dead why does almost every TV have one in back?

    LOL

we have convered this several times. we know display port is > hdmi. just like dual link dvi is > single link dvi OR hdmi.

and not EVERY tv in 2012 has a vga. the 4 high end 1080p in my house don't, not even my home theater projector has it.

  9. All I said is that you will get a cleaner image on a TV from a computer using VGA connection vs. the HDMI connection. All digital connections carry a VGA / Analoge signal and the real big difference is that HDMI also carries audio.

However if you do your homework you will discover that HDMI cannot support resolutions beyond 1080p where as PC vid cards can. Why? Because VGA from a Vid Card on a PC has a higher freqency range than standard HDMI compliant connections.

DisplayPort is an improvement to HDMI in that it will support resolutions beyond 1080p and carry audio.

I will forgive your ignorance as the real misinformation is that coming from appliance makers making you believe that HDMI is the best when in fact it is not. HDMI is just more common.

no crap moron. we all know hdmi is limited. Look at 3d and its frame packing 3d for ps3 cause of the limit of hdmi. Why do you think pc 3d uses DUAL LINK DVI cause of the bandwidth being greater than single dvi or hdmi.

NOONE uses a damn analog signal anymore! that's why we created digital so there was NO conversion anymore. JUST STRAIGHT DIGITAL

ALSO This topic has NOTHING to do with display port. NOTHING.

  10. so much misinformation being tossed around. Anyone with a decent gfx card will not even have the option to use a vga out since....well...the standard is outdated.

So im supposed to convert a dvi signal out to a vga and use that? LOL?

exactly. my gtx 570 doesn't even have vga. You guess it! It has two dual link dvis and an hdmi. but for your misunderstood wierdos who think vga > hdmi or analog>digital the card comes with dvi to vga... which brings the question, why are these even included anymore?

  11. Analog or not, when looking at a PC screen, the VAG connection will be crisper than HDMI.

    DisplayPort is even better.

absolutely no. digital > analog both appearance and bandwidth. this is why we have dvi and hdmi...

and of course display port is better. but WHAT tv has display port (very few if any). only monitors do and only certain monitors

  12. LOL, you need to do your home work bub.

I run 1920 x 1080 through VGA no problem at all at it is a much cleaner crisper image than HDMI hands down. Only draw back to VGA cable is that their is no sound so that has to be hooked up seperately.

DisplayPort is even better and carries sound like HDMI.

    DERP.

even if you can. it's still an analog signal. but a tv will not let you do 1080 with vga as a "pc port"
