  1. Then I am unsubbing again. Tried a month. But this sucks.
  2. I see! I did play a couple of warzones since turning 70, and I've gotten to command rnak 10. But I guess the command ranks are progressive, so that turning to level 300 from 299 is much slower than from going to level 2.
  3. I played the game since launch (pre-ordered) and only PvP'd. But then I took a break, and now I am back for the first time in a couple of years. So I just re-subbed for a month to try it and just reached level 70 on my BH. What I am wondering is how I can get PvP gear (yes, I know, there is no more expertise rating). Can I just PvP and reach PvP gear in a decent timer? Or do I actually need to go out and do PvE grinding from the Galactic Command? I just need more information on this topic. I'd very much avoid doing any sort of PvE stuff in order to get end game gear. If that is at all possible.
  4. Maybe I am just compaing a PT to my main class which is Marauder, where I have passive movement speed boost and better predation. The game just feels very slow and even though the PT has a few abilitities it's far from "mobile" at least in my opinion. Marauders, agents, sorcs are mobile.
  5. They have a grapple and no other mobility, except for an optional skill point to make you 15 % faster.
  6. I was wrong. There is not a single Republic dedicated PvP guild. Not even a single one who is active.
  7. And Solo Ranked is 100 % dead on republic side on TOFN. Is it alive on Imp side? This i would like to know. Confirmed by me queuing for 20 hours over the course of 3 or 4 days and getting 2 games.
  8. Amen brother to everything you say. But this part is very, very simple. Bioware doesn't play PvP and simply out of touch with all the current issues of PvP. It's not because they don't want to make PvP experience better for their player base, it's just that they are out of touch and incompetent in such matters. All games Bioware has previously made is regards to PvE and that is where Bioware shines. Sad, but true. Especially since this is so easily fixable by hiring a PvP manager.
  9. Best for PVP. When a single queue don't pop for 4 days. Alright
  10. Seriously? The last 3 days I was queued from 3 pm to 11 pm and got 1 warzone on 3 days days for ranked. That is solo on republic side. Maybe you are Imp?
  11. I am not German but I can understand the language decently. I am not English either. But I definitely can't speak French.
  12. Ok according to that I am on the 3rd most populated server already (Tomb of Freedom Nadd). And it's completely dead. But overall population is not the same as quality PvP population. Those are 2 different things. Can anyone with experience from the European PvP scene elaborate which server is best for skilled ranked PvP? I mean on my server there isn't even 1 good republic PvP guild, barely any good players! The 2 higher populated servers are The Red Eclipse (PvE - EN) and T3-M4 (PvE - Ger). Do they actually speak German there because if so I can't go there.
  13. Yeah but which one for Europe?
  14. Hello fellow PvPers, I am looking for the best PvP server in Europe in terms of quality PvP (good players), decent faction balance, and of course people who play ranked PvP. Currently I am a Republic player and for days it's impossible to get a single solo queue at Tomb of Freedom Nadd. I've had 1 ranked queue pop in maybe 10 hours of searching. All that was during prime time. Any suggestions?
  15. Just like PvP players have to collect datacrons, level up 3 class stories for the buffs, maxing character affection for all different characters and all that PvE stuff to be vialbe in PvP.
  16. He knows it, but he claims level sync makes everything 100 % equal. Not to mention that lowbie players doesn't know how to PvP. This is the sort of man with no honor.
  17. Somehow I managed to accidentally install my SWTOR game in my downloads folder. Its a big *** clutter and hard to navigate since some main files are in this exact folder, while there are also sub folders. Can I copy paste the game to another folder?
  18. What is the default installation path? I can't seem to find the game.
  19. Everyone is on board with this idea except the guys who have better gear and still lose.
  20. Great point! Because that's why you see these insanely inflated numbers for certain classes. Because they win a lot, so they gain a lot of points. But when they do lose, they don't lose as many points as they should in a normal ELO system. So in essence the most impactful PvP classes for ranked 4v4 will have insanely high rankings.
  21. Yes, this is true for that parituclar game. But if you win 4 games out of 10, where you are massive underdogs. And lose the other 6, where you are massive underdogs as well, you will most likely gain more ELO over those 10 games than you will have lost, resulting in ELO rising. No, you still can't just take damage stats out of thin air and just conclude that one of your character has a higher ELO. Many servers have a severe faction imbalance problem, both in terms of population and level of skill. That's probably the biggest issue. If you literally played the exact same gear, the exact same people every single queue and at random times, it probably is due to faction imbalance issues on your server. Like I said earlier, win rate (of more than 1 game) does not make or break your ELO. You can have a negative win rate and incraese your ELO, assuming the points you gain from your wins are worth more than the ones you lose. You say you almost always lose? Can you try to give me as exact a number possible for your win rate.
  22. Let me be clear. I am talking about end game PVP and end game PVE. Not leveling experience. The biggest reason why this PvE/credit issues such as datacrons, leveling other classes to finish chapter 2 for their class buff, maxing influence on companions and augmenting is this: None of these things have anything to do with PvP. By playing PvE and investing hundreds of hours, you gain a big advantage in PvP over other players. This is unfair to every casual player who doesn't have the time or the will to grind for hundreds of hours to be viable in PvP. People who love to PvP and who are invested in this game has to clear this content, else they are at a major disadvantage. It's like taking 2 of your gear pieces of. That's how much stats (mastery, endurance) you will lose. Not only is it unfair. It's also extremely boring. I can tell you from my perspective I am purely a PvP player at the end game level. I don't run any hard more flashpoints. I don't run operations. I don't do flash points. I don't like to level companions but I am forced. I am forced to get datacrons, which is extremely boring. I am also forced to level 3 alts to chapter 3. If not then I can't be competitive in PvP which is what I am searching for. Any serious PvP player will tell you how much they hated doing all these things. A lot of players like to PvP only, and maybe very rarely do PvE. Most who love PvP have little to no interest in PvE end game, apart from the story and the new story in KotFE. I actually ended up skipping 3 storylines on all my alts just to level them as fast as possible because I hate the leveling experience. People who "wasted their time" doing all this out of necessity to be competitive. Becuase everyone else have done it, you need to do it to. Want to know what sounds strangely familiar to? Lance Armstrong after realizing every was doped during the Tour de France, he had to do it himself as well. Because everyone is doped, I need to be doped to. Though wouldn't it be better if no one was doped and no one was forced to do it? Wouldn't it be better if you didn't have to clear all this PvE content as a PvP player? Well, someone has to be the last person before a sale. Regardless if it's the Dark Reaver set or tomatoes at the grocery store. Most people would have the Dark Reaver gear well before everyone else and could enjoy it for an extended period of time. You got to enjoy it for a week. I can't speak for skill. If you are bad then there are ways to improve. But it's what you put into it. If you just queue for the fun of it, then good for you.
  23. Kills, medals, valor and MVP votes have nothing to do with ELO. The only which infects ELO is the ultimate outcome of the game in terms of winning or losing. All the damage, MVP votes and healing you have in a certain game is just the means to reach the goal of winning. One great stealth player may have very low damage, healing and tanking in a strategic warzone, but he could be the reason his team wins if he can attack and defend nodes and doors in warzones. A quick example would be a voidstar game where all 8 of the attacking team goes to one side. The defenders have 7 on the attacked door and 1 solo guarding the off door. Then the stealth guy of the attackers makes a great play and manages to either chain CC or burst the solo guard on the off door, which results in him planting the bomb. Even though his medals, MVP votes (because his team won't probably know what even happened) healing/tanking/damage will be low. But still, he impacted the game in a positive way for his team and won the game. By the way, ELO is not a percentage of wins. That would be very simplistic. The way ELO works is that every single player starts with a certain default ELO of say 1000. Then the player will play warzones, and if the ELO are equal on both sides, then the ELO lost and gained will be equal. It's just who wins. If the opponents have higher ELO than you, then you will gain more ELO from them and if they beat you, simply because that is the expected result. This leads to the fact that you can have a negative win rate and still have higher than default ELO. If you only played much better teams and won 4 out of 10, you will most likely have a better ELO than your starting of 1000. Likewise a better team can have a positive win rate but have lost more ELO than they gained in the same matches. You can have 20 million damage, 7 MVP votes and god knows how many medals and still lose the warzone if all you do is stand and spam AOE abilities breaking your team CC's on strategic areas like the voidstar doors. So in the end, you will actually lose ELO even though you had record damage. That's why you can't prorate your stats because they actually do not matter. Now, if you are winning and playing great usually the stats will tell it. So for instance if you are in a 4v4 arena and do 500000 damage, you are probably stomping the opponents and it reflects by your damage, medals and MVP votes. First point is different outcome of same class on different sides (Republic/Empire). There could be a number of the following factors in play. 1) Faction imbalance. Maybe the Imperials are better/more impactful at PvP on a regular basis. 2) Are you playing your "alt" toons at the end of the day when you are tired, after you finished your main PvP dailies? It's possible you are tired and thus play a bit worse. 3) Do you have anyone you play with on either side? Do you play solo on any of them compared to with friends on the other? 4) Maybe you got different warzones? A mercenary, assuming you are DPS, ussualy thrives in Novare Coast, Alderaan and Voidstar. Maybe you got a disproportionate amount of arena or huttball which offsets your impact. There could be a mix of all these. I did assume your gear was 100 % the same, as well as your level on the characters. So like I said everyone starts off with a default ELO (call it 1000 for example). This bold statement I highlighted is completely wrong. You can grow ELO if you lose more than you win, if you already have a much lower ELO than your opponents. In theory, if the player base is big enough, you will always be matched with exactly players from your same ELO. So if you are 1200 ELO, so will everyone be in your team and in your opponents team. However this only works in games like Dota 2 or LoL where there are millions of players. For a game like SWTOR no game will be perfectly balanced, but overall it will be a lot more balanced if teams are selected based on ELO. Furthermore, if you lose a lot more than you win on a regular basis it's possible your ELO will fall and fall. However at one point it should flatten out, because you will get better and better players in your team (and worse and worse opponents). So your win rate will start to stabilize around 50-50, when you reach your actual ELO. Barring extreme unluck or luck, you will stay at this ELO until you improve your skills or deteriorate. That can work either of two days. 1) There is a separate ELO for group and solo PvP. So if you solo PvP, you have a solo ELO number. Let's just say it is 1500. Now if you try group PvP, you will start with 1000 assuming it is your first game. That would lead to somewhat unbalanced games before you actually start to approach your actual ELO of 1500. 2) You keep the same ELO for solo and group. The advantage of this is that people who always solo or always group in PvP will no longer have a huge disparity between them, in turn making some games unbalanced because these players need to correct their ELO. However, the disadvantage of this is that if you play a lot with friends who are extremely noobish and ungergeared, you will lose ELO which you gained from solo PvP. Also I should say, ELO is a zero-sum game. If a favorable team wins a warzone, then they gain say 10 points. At the same time the losing team will lose 10 points as well. If the underdog wins, maybe they gain 40 points, while the favorites lose 40 points too.
