  1. They usually don't post metrics that aren't conducive to supporting the game, so probably not. :(

Curious...any chance we could ever see the metrics on what % of the population is able to clear things like SM/HM/NiM Ops? Not of the older Ops, only of the newer ones.
  2. Post-Bolster changes sure you can PvP naked. Pre-2.0 expertise made a tremendous difference so if you were doing so well without it I really doubt your opponents were wearing it. If you are going to discuss expertise you may want to know what it actually did. Bottom line is that there is zero incentive to PvP for gear at this point. I would love to see the reaction of the community if a bolster type system was implemented for PvE content. :rak_04:

You don't have to believe it then. :p 1on1 I took people down quick just because PvE naturally will give you a lot of dps in general, that's the way it's built. Expertise negates it a small fraction, but your output is still really high. I was spinning striking people for 6-8k :p And Shadow strikes were up there as well. PvP gear honestly really means nothing. The only people that think that are the ones that need the advantage.
  3. I guess it would create too many records for the 1977 database keeping track of everything. It's a shame that criticism over a readily agreed upon poor system brings out people that are simply looking for troll snacks. :(

As has been explained to you in another thread, by multiple people.... this idea is terribad.
  4. No. Read what I wrote.

P2W means that you can lay out real money to get an advantage over other players. If BiS gear, (BoE, BoP or BoL) were sold on the Cartel Market that would be Pay to Win. And it would suck hard vacuum.

    But it isn't.

The stuff on the Cartel Market is not stuff that will give you an advantage over other players in the game. It's Pay to Look Pretty. P2LP, if you will. Not P2W.

You forget however, that people are willing to buy much of the "Look Pretty" stuff on the GTN which then translate into in game money which can be used to craft or purchase BiS equipment.

  5. "Pay to Win" doesn't mean "Pay to have *****-and-glitter that other people don't have." Pay to Win means "I will buy something that gives me a material advantage over other players and unbalances the game in my favour."

So, how are these CC rep lucky dips P2W, in any way?

So the purchase of ship parts is not out right pay to win? The topic has been discussed and the road to pay to win paved, you need only step on to the path.

  6. While I certainly don't begrudge them for trying to make more money the Cartel Market is really starting to grate on me as it really does become more of a pay to win system. "Nickel and Dime"ing is one thing but this feels like they are simply trying to fleece the customers that were buying packs according to the metrics. I am very concerned that the release of the expansion will be bringing an even larger wave of disgust as people realize that they have been virtually robbed, willingly no less.
  7. Ok. since you are so happy, CONGRATULATIONS ! GG MAN, YOU ARE SO GREAT :)

If, to you, it doesn't make sense, it just shows that you DON'T UNDERSTAND. Nothing more, nothing else and yes, to me it makes sense that some rare individuals, have a better "perception" of stealth.

Again, a character in plain sight ---> agro. If not, you are "too far" and the mob doesn't SEE you. Yes, even if you are at 5m, with a gun, dancing and chatting with your team, he doesn't see you. The agro in this situation is related to VISION. But once you are stealthed, the agro range isn't related to vision anymore, and why on Earth should it be the same ? Do you SEE and EAR at the same distance ? Do you smell things at the same distance ?

This will be my last post in this thread, I'm feeling like it I was trying to explain something to a 4 year old child shouting "NO YOU ARE WRONG".

Probably because to 90+% of the MMORPG population you are wrong. As a stealther I am not supposed to be able to use one of my primary skills in my class missions because we don't want people stealthing by bosses/trash in other content :rak_02:

  8. Is there a link to an official comment that this is working as intended? If not then this is just another bug to add to the ever going list of frustrating issues with game mechanics. Stealth detection beyond the range of normal aggro range is wrong. If they wanted to deter people from stealthing past content perhaps they should have the NPC's have increased stealth detection within the area that they would normally aggro someone. My thought is that they tried to do just that and ended up with broken detection. :(
