  1. like a lot of you a Linux client is the wall between me going 100% Linux.. I'm hoping with the recent announcements by Valve of SteamOS and the Steam Machines Bioware will reconsider and build a native client. Help us Bioware, you're our only hope!
  2. I'd take a free transfer glad that they were at least planning something, hope the technical issues get worked out of whatever they do instead is cool.
  3. all I know is I get killed by 20-30's easy and I'm 45.. at those lvls I was hopeless against a 40+ and I know it's prob more me and not the game. Maybe I should try focus and see if it works better for my play style but I'd like to max out Vig first and see if I can get it. Anyways, lot's of good info so far in this thread that's been helpful in me getting getting better.. just want to be real good
  4. yeah a zoom feature would be great! so hard to see what stuff looks like. The action button to hear the weapon sound is a good idea.
  5. just gonna add my +1 to this. I too would love to be able to preview lightsaber hilts, or any weapon for that matter. really lame that you have to bind it to you only to find out it's ugly. and since the online databases aren't quite up to full swing yet we aren't left with much choice to take the risk or potentially miss out. would be cool to be able to hear a sample of what the weapon sounds like also since they do have varying sounds for each weapon. thanks Bioware!

  7. first I want to say that this has turned into a nice thread with lots of good pointers and tips so thanks to all who have contributed. I roll a VIG DPS Guardian (ATM 0/28/5) and the combination of a aging computer that can't give me good frame rates during war zones and a lack of skill in MMO PVP in general were making the enjoyment factor all but null. Despite this I kept trying, hoping to get better and knowing eventually I'd have a better computer. So I figured I'd hit the forums for tips and found this thread, while reading it I kept seeing people say "TANK TANK TANK!" and think "But, I'm DPS.." and others pointed this out too and I thought "yeah what about the 2 DPS trees?!" and these posts had really good advice that I will later put to use, but since my DPS wasn't going well do to the above stated reasons, I figured I'd give this tank advice a shot.. after all, I have the stance and abilities that just collect dust from lack of use.. The results are I had a lot of fun! I'm not a good tank mind you but what I do is find the healer on my team and frakking guard the hell out of them! Funny thing is I still get as many kills as I was getting trying to DPS and I'm getting points in defense/protection so my scores are higher. I'm also getting medals and even managed to get a MVP vote from I assume an appreciative healer Now, I'm not going to re-roll as tank because I still prefer DPS in PVE but I can faux tank enough in a WZ to at least not be complete dead weight to my team until I can get a computer that isn't on it's last leg. I'm not saying everyone should give up on DPS cause I've seen many of the videos out there of Guardians doing mass damage on the battlefield but I just wanted to share my results in case anyone else was struggling with skill and PC woes.
  8. just to follow up and post my results and reaction to the patch-- I went from 2-15fps (sad I know) to 20-35fps, much improved! I was able to bump up my settings a bit as well as the resolution again! I had to turn stuff down when I got to Tatooine cause it was just getting worse with each planet.. I still get a little laggy on the larger planets and when a lot of people are on screen but that's just my old computer.. it is better than before though. I also never knew I was experiencing the ability delay bug till playing with it fixed.. I always knew something was funky but was blaming it on my aging PC lol! combat is much improved with my better frame rates and the delay fixed. Thanks Bioware!
  9. like many others I am still at work and look forward to playing tonight to experience the improvements! if I can squeeze a little more out of my aging computer I'll be happy.
  10. glad I found this, good info! are you guys putting anything into Focus or Defense? thanks
