  1. I'm not sure which exact error you have but if it is 208 this might help. I had the "couldnt patch" when i went to start game, and tried Admin etc, but eventually i used a VPN and connected immediately, then after that i could start it the normal way. Maybe try a free VPN if you dont have one, and see if it helps. Good luck.
  2. Mate, i'm not trying to convince you of anything, I have been communicating with Customer Service, they know about it, they know what I am talking about, they have told me there are bugs, they have told me they will be fixed in a patch or patches. Because you don't understand something or aren't aware of something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We don't need to discuss this any more mate.
  3. Sorry Stoopicus, I don't agree with anything you said,(and with the factional imbalance you are on the wrong page) but we are all entitled to our own opinions.
  4. Hi, yeah I agree, after 5 years it is unlikely they will get it right, they have had plenty of time to do so if they were serious about it, and your advice is also good, play or don't play, and I have done that since beta but I think i'm a bit worn down now. For the guys that cant understand the class difference between Imp and Pub, the mirror aspect, that is the Factional imbalance. If you don't see it in play, that's fair enough, its quite discrete, but effective. It could work either way, and I haven't played Ebon Hawk so I cant comment. I work with software and its faults for a living, and in my opinion the code is faulty, if you don't see that or agree with that, that's fine, as I mentioned, not looking for an argument.
  5. Hello, I have played Warzones constantly since beta and for the last few years it is my opinion, and many others I have spoken to, and even Customer Service Reps that there is Factional Imbalance. When you have all classes on Imp and Pub side you can easily see that in many warzones your Pub character is less effective than your Imp character. This has been happening for years. Then you have Class Imbalance, and even Blind Freddy can see the currently Merc and Sniper are way out of balance. It shouldn't be possible that a Merc can kill other players in 3 or 4 seconds, at times, and yet that other player cant kill the Merc in 30 to 60 seconds. It is also way out of whack that 4 or 5 Pubs have difficulty killing a Merc or Sniper, yet 5 Imps would kill one Pub in seconds. I appreciate there are always exeptions to any rule, I am referring to 'in general'. Then you add in the occasional speed hacks, and for anyone that says they don't exist its just buffs, check oyut YouTube, and also you can leave this forum and have bought one within 10 minutes, so please don't say hacks don't exist, lol. What has Bioware done for WZ balance and parity in the last few years, NOTHING, they make new armor, they make pretty armor, they make new Uprisings, they figure out more ways to extract Cartel Coins, but they do bugger all for Warzone balance and fairness. I have been in guilds which have had 50 active players on a day that don't now exist and it would be difficult to find a small handful of the guild mates because I have always been in PvP guilds, and eventually people get sick and tired of the inequity in classes and factions. Hacks are annoying, but eventually get sorted for awhile, but imbalance is super annoying and frustrating, and get frustrated enough and people quit, its that simple. Bioware should be able to notice server numbers drop to zero nearly, but don't seem to know why people leave. I would suggest stop making pretty sparkly things in SWTOR for awhile, and fix the game mechanics and Class and Factional balance, it would be appreciated, and some of the ex players might come back if they know its a 'fair fight' Customer Service has acknowledged some of these problems and have said some are bugs and that they will be fixed in future patch, but when is that? Someone said the other night when we were WZing why don't we go over Imp side, you win and its easier to kill and survive, and I said whats the point, you're not really winning from skill, it doesn't even feel like a challenge, if its not a fair and balanced fight what are we doing there? I am not looking for an argument from anyone, I am writing this for the Devs to see, because they say the Devs read this forum.

    Pubs Harb

Until Bioware fixes Factional Imbalance the problem will exist for more years to come, anyone how avidly plays Imp and Pubs of the same class knows that the Imp versions die slower and kill easier. Class imbalance is a joke, on what planet are the Devs hiding on, anyone can see Merc and Sniper players don't need any skill to win, they just shoot and people die in seconds, and if a group fight a Merc or Sniper their defenses are way over the top. I don't know what Bioware trey to achieve when they leave balance so out of kilter for so long, but based on Bioware you can only assume they are either *********** stupid or make money out of it somehow, not that I can see how they would. Its a joke, if you want to win most WZs you have to play your Imp, if you want to play Pub then you have to be happy to be on the receiving end of a Turkey Shoot in may games.
  7. I play all Warzones and have never quit one since beta, and all i do is Warzones. People think that i like all WZs, i dont, it took me years to not hate Huttball, and i wasnt liking OPGs at first. But i play the game out because its like a raffle,a different field, different people, different chances. So what if i can see i will lose? I see that often sadly due to WZ problems more suited to another thread. If i can see that our team doesnt have what it takes to win, even from the start i just go into training mode and try new things, hone skills , or just simply do as much damage or healing that i can. Afterall, its not always about me and what i want, there are either 7 or 15, if full, other people in there also, they count aswell, i'm not 14 and prone to throwing a tantrum or think its all about me, its a game, play, try hard, make it fun, move on. I would love it if they made many happy and brought in a filter system so people didnt have to play maps they dont like, but until they bring it in, the option isnt there. So think about others people, i know its a me , me , me generation or society, but try to think of others too, it would be cool of you And for those that suggest if they leave people who might be better could replace them, yes, underline could, sometimes they do, sometimes no one replaces them and we are stuck with low numbers, or sometimes it starts an exodus where once 1 leaves others whine and whinge, or give up and more leave, not to be replaced. Then its not a war, where we really fight, its too uneven then, and its hard to glean much fun in a 4 or 5 v 8 because the numbers are so varied that the 8 kill you instantly, so is even hard to train. So, it might not be a perfect game of 8v8 or 4v4 where the other side is going to whoop your butt, but at least you have an even number of people to "have a go". You know, a bit of spirit, some spine, or some courage to fight when the odds are against you. Penalise deserters to encourage them to stay and fight, they might surprise themselves and improve their skills, or shock horror, get used to a map they once loathed. Yes it does happen.
  8. PvP Warzones are a team event, a group activity. If people cant last 5 or 10 minutes for the sake of the team they are not playing in the spirit of a team event, and should be penalised to discourage them from either a/ entering again or b/ leaving in future games. People should only que if they intend to stay till the end.
  9. Hyde_V , you are not the only one that notices it, believe me, many of us have discussed the exact same things. I have PvP'd since Beta and WZs have been broken one way or another for so long. Take your pick: *Hacks *Class Imbalance *Factional Imbalance *Bolster *Bad Code Devs don't really seem to care, they are more interested in making new ways for people to spend Cartel Coins, and making shiny new pretty armor and weapons, when in reality there is ample weapons and armor , and fixing Mechanics and bugs and exploits would be a solid start to improving the gameplay. I wouldn't hold my breath, although the Devs have started conceding in ticket responses there are many problems in warzones and they are going to address them. Will believe it when I see it.
  10. We all value our time Kazz, but it would be helpful if people queuing in public teams would have an attitude that its luck of the draw who you team with, sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Time works with all people, you say 'your' time is too valuable, but when you leave you then destroy the game for your 'team mates' and therefore wasting their time, lol. So you don't want to waste your time but have no problem wasting other peoples time. Here is the problem, or at least one aspect of it. If people want their time respected, then we have to respect other peoples time also. It would be nice, and helpful, if people went into public teams expecting the strong likelihood that it wont be a perfect team. The alternative is, if you cant cope with public groups, join a premade. Cheers
  11. Thanks for your inputs LanarTick, they have been noted. I don't think I need to read much more of what you have to say, you continue to misinterpret my reasons for posting , and I don't think you will consider that you have misinterpreted them, so, further input is invalid and unproductive. I am sure there are many other threads you can go and participate in. All the best.
  12. Hi Helin, I too have been in matches where average players have left and the team has benefitted from the new players that replaced them, and yes, I too have been the replacement player, and its been of benefit, but this isn't the norm, it is the exception. If it was the norm, I wouldn't be writing this thread. Helin, you completely misunderstand the reasoning behind me posting about this in the forum. I definitely have no desire to 'punish' people, zero interest in it. My only desire is to have some continuity in warzones, and a full team if possible, and to top it off it would be great if everyone was trying to win. So I can 100% clarify that I don't care about punishment, i'm all about deterrent. I don't care at all if people are newbies, undergeared, or to use your words" stupid', all I hope is that people try, and make a team effort. So your little rant there was really quite irrelevant. Anyway mate, not looking for trolls or arguments, I am hoping some suggestions come forward, as they have, that the Devs might consider, and one day implement. I don't mind mature debate, but personal attacks ruin a thread. Thanks for your input.
  13. Lunar, sorry, no malice, I just couldn't see the spelling of your name so was doing it from memory. Luna, Lunar, who cares I have played Warzones since beta, and I have never really been interested in the rewards, although whatever they give I take. I enjoy being in a team that puts in to its best ability to beat the opposing team. If we don't win, or looks like we cant win, I use the time to try and hone my skills. I think you are wrong, the problem of Deserting is a community problem, if you are in WZs enough, and in your case, long enough ;p , you would see other people complain about rage quitters, tantrum throwers who leave, sooks, bad sports, disinterested people etc. It is a problem for me, but quite clearly it is not only a problem for me. I am an advocate for fixing problems that aggravate people, and some of those problems are Dev created, and I send plenty of tickets to them if I see a problem. But some are also community related, in this case some of the community shows little respect of how they effect others when leaving a team, a group. So, that is in part what this thread relates to. I don't really want to get bogged down in the philosophy too much, if you have any ideas to resolve the problem that's good
  14. I am wondering if removing the exit button from Warzones would be a good start to encouraging people not to leave by choice. I know there are ways around it, but it might make it less easy and not quite as simple. And then throw a penalty on top of that if it doesn't have the desired effect
  15. LunaTick, I think you are right that Warzone have issues such as class imbalance and factional imbalance, but that's a discussion for another thread, but I agree, it can be one of the causes that stimulates people to leave early. That said, leaving early is still a choice. In regard to you telling us that you are a person that leaves for various reasons, I appreciate your honesty, After reading your reasoning and your thoughts, without animosity, I would be honest in saying, please don't cue if you can help it, you are one of the types of players that is the problem. I would prefer to have 10% less WZs pop because deserters aren't queuing, than to have a consistent flow of warzones where we have very little chance of competing because individuals cant be bothered staying. And to the guy that reckons it might be me why people leave, LOL, great rationale . It is a common problem, not exclusive to me, and for the record my WZ stats are in the good zone for damage and healing, and I always play objectives. So I think what you said was a bit of a throw away line, but nice try, lol.
  16. Just went into arena, had 4, dropped to 3, then 2, then 2, then 4 then 3 then 2, while 2 of us were fighting 2 more arrived, who promptly left, then in next round the one person that was fighting with me in first round left. Pathetic. You wouldn't want any of those people in your team, any team, because they aren't playing as a team, they are playing as individuals, and very selfish individuals, Bioware please fix this, punish these people until they stop being weak deserters, or they stop queueing.
  17. Some good thoughts and ideas there, good work people
  18. Yeah, for the damage they can do , Snipers should have a touch more vulnerability. But that should be the same for any high damage class, if you can kill really quickly, you need to be able to be killed also, but sadly in SWTOR now what the Devs have done is make some classes high damage, high resistance, CC machines that walk around in a pseudo God mode. But that's all on the Devs, they need people on their team that actually actively and passionately play, so they 'really' know whats going on.
  19. Yeah, would need some tweaking, but that's what the Devs would get paid the big bucks for, some innovation. I agree, a pattern might be helpful, do it once in a day and you're ok, do it more and you get a penalty. If someone did it constantly you could even have graduating penalties. Anything to stop them. The guy that reckons it would drive people from the game, lol More people get frustrated and annoyed from having the group size shrink to unwinnable numbers because of deserters , than people that would leave because they were penalised for rage quitting a warzone. It would have to be the most selfish act in a team activity, where others rely on you, to just say, 'this looks too hard' or 'I don't like playing with noobs' , and then just quitting. If people quit the game because the were penalised for poor behaviour, who loses, lol. I don't mind the idea of CXP penalty because todays world is very material, and people think twice before giving up something they already have. And redistribution of CXP would at least compensate those that were duded because a/some team mate/s abandoned them. Of course with a method like this the Devs would need to have checks and balances in place, but as I say, that's what they're paid for, to come up with these aspects. I'd be happy if they put a one hour ban on re-entering, that wouldn't be super bad on people that accidentally DC, but maybe a strong enough deterrent for deserters.
  20. We all see people everyday leaving warzones at the start or part way though the match, because its 'too hard' or looks like they wont win. This makes it very difficult for those that do the right thing and stay no matter what.It can be card when there is 8, or 4, but when people keep leaving it just perpetuates the problem. Bioware needs to do something, and they should have done something years ago instead of just ignoring it. For level 70 Warzones I believe having a penalty of 500 CXP for anyone that voluntarily leaves, or stops playing would be enough to stop most from doing this poor form activity. And if you wanted to get creative, you could even disperse the 500 CXP to the current players that are there when the deserters leave.
  21. Absolutely spot on Vek, I feel many people, and especially the Devs, are blind to the factional imbalance, but if you WZ 20+ times a day over 5 years it stands out like dogs ballz. Will they fix it?, well they have yet, so don't hold your breath. We have discussed this in various guilds over the years, and regardless of people bringing it to the Devs attention, they couldn't care less. The current class imbalance, OMG, who is the individual or the department responsible for this, its possibly the worst I have seen in 5 years, I say sack them , and replace them with people that aren't "guessing". And please, get some passionate PvPers in the Dev team, and I don't mean someone that logs on a few times a week, and 'has a whack'. Passionate, OCD types, that their world revolves around PvP and coding, and get them involved. To Imps that think they are just good players over Pubs, LOL! Yeah right, it is so much easier killing Pubs than vice a versa. A so called bad Pub player then goes on their Imp and is suddenly a champion, lol.
  22. They will do nothing, they are more interested in making pretty armor and finding ways to turn free things in CC expenses. Warzones have had problems for years, there is imbalance, hacking and bad coding, and they do nothing, and they wonder why server numbers drop, especially Pub side. Atm, it is absolutely terrible. The whole Merc Jugg imbalance, the hacks, and i iterate, the terrible coding. The dream is for balanced PvP, but that dream has gone unanswered for 5 years.
