  1. My friend is playing a tank, and I have Artiface. I'm just wondering what enhancements I shuld be making him. I'm a DPS jugg so I make rage enchancements, but should I make him ones that up his defence or absorb?
  2. Is there a version of it without the ugly shoulders? There's NPCs wearing it everywhere, and it's in a lot of videos.
  3. I have been using a power adrenal, but it's getting pretty expensive to even buy the schematics for an adrenal, so before I start trying to craft a reusable, I want to make sure I'm shooting for the correct adrenal. So, my question is, what do you think the most beneficial adrenal would be for a DPS juggernaught?
  4. Does reverse engineering a stack have a higher chance at success?
  5. I just RE some up to some purples today. It took me about 12 tries for one of them, but the next one I got on the first try. One was a healing potion thingy, other one was a stim.
  6. I'm just curious if anyone has found any max level artiface recipes that max better weapons/mods than you can get via the dailies.
  7. Well there's commendation vendors that sell blues all the way up to hilt 22, right? Blues aren't that much worse than purples. At 50 people say you can get a purple hilt 23 from the dailies on Ilum. You can't even buy the schematic for hilt 23 from your trainer. I hear even if you get the schematics for it, you have to raid to get the resources to build it. That's why I'm switching.
  8. Oh, I figure they'll fix it eventually, but then I can just switch back. It doesn't take too long to level up. Plus, I could always run Artiface on one of my alts. Okay, I think I'll make the switch.
  9. I am an artifacer, level 19, 200 skill. Over a 150 in both archaeology and treasure hunting. With the state of things now I'm definitely going to switch to biochem when I hit 50, because artiface becomes useless at that point. My question then, directed to those who have already been through the grind, is it worth it to stick with artifacing while leveling so I can keep myself well equipped, or would I get more benefit from switching to biochem now, and just using commendations to upgrade my lightsaber? I'm a DPS juggernaught if that's important.
  10. Zakhor, isn't your point kind of redundant due to the fact that it only took a week to level that crew skill to max in the first place? If you're right, and there will be a fix, it probably won't be for a few weeks, maybe a month or two. You might as well just switch your crew skill, get all the benefit out of biochem that you can, and switch it back if they fix artiface. It's not like the purples you've strived so hard to create are worth anything anyway. You'll make more money, have a personal stockpile of potions, and be able to craft some beefy bind on pickup implants if you switch to Biochem now. When they fix artiface, it'll only take you a week tops to level it back up, and you'll still have your stockpile of potions and your sweet implants. I'm personally sitting on 200 artiface now, and I might stick with it until 50, because I'll be able to craft decent mods until I get to Ilum. But after that I'll switch to Biochem in a heart-beat. There's just no point holding out for a fix when leveling the skill is just so damn easy.
  11. I don't think the argument was that one should be able to craft better weapons than high end raid gear. I think the argument is that crafting should be able to make better gear than is rewarded from doing a couple hours of daily quests. Or, at the very least, one should not have to raid for materials to make weapon mods that are worse than the mods dropped within the weapons of the very same bosses that also drop the materials.
  12. I'm looking for a list of the daily rewards from Ilum. I hear the rewards you get from the Ilum dailies are better than any mod a weapon crafter can craft. I'm looking for a list to make sure there's nothing I'll be able to craft with Artiface that's worth crafting. I really liked the idea of crafting my own hilts, but if it's pointless, I'd rather make the switch now than later. Still, I want to make sure there really is NOTHING I can craft that's better than the dailies before I make the switch.
  13. Is there a list of all the mods you can get from Ilum dailies? I'd really like to know if there's anything worth crafting with Artiface that you can't obtain a better version of within an hour of questing on Ilum,
  14. With the current state of crafting, is there really any point in anyone crafting anything other than Biochem? I mean, if you can't even craft yourself better mods than you can find in shops or commendation vendors, and building the weapons that match those within the shops cost you a more time or money than simply acquiring said commendations, what's the point of crafting anything except for reusable potions? The economy isn't going to be based around crafting, that's for sure, so the only real purpose for crafting should be self improvement. Since you find/buy better quality items than it's possible to craft, the only way to gain something out of crafting seems to be the reusables.
  15. Hmm. If that's true, I guess I should switch. It really would have been nice if Artiface was viable.
  16. I'm sitting at 200 Artiface now, but with everything I've read the crafting skills other than Biochem are completely useless, as you can get better mods through daily quests at level 50. That has me seriously considering the switch to biochem, but I'm wondering if it would be worth it to stick out Artiface until I can build a Lightsaber with an augment slot. The whole "crafted gear being useless" has me a little depressed to be honest. I just need a little direction to make sure I'm not wasting a ton of time and money on a useless exercise.
  17. Is it true that you can get weapon/armour mods that are superior to the best crafted sets just by handing in commendations, or running a few high level instances? If that's true, the only crafting skill worth having would be Biochem, for the reusable meds. Well that's depressing. Thousands of credits and a large chunk of my play time down the drain leveling Artiface..
  18. Is this true? I went Artiface, was that a stupid idea? Should I switch to Biochem for those reusable chems?
  19. I'm a Juggernaught, currently sitting on 200 artiface. I'm liking it so far, but I keep hearing about the reusable stims/health packs for biochemists, and it's piqued my interest. I do like being able to upgrade my own weapons and what not, but I don't know how useful that's going to be end game. My question is, how good are those reusable biochems, are they worth the switch, or would I be fine with the lower quality single use meds?
  20. I was looking through torhead and noticed that every profession other than the weapon crafters are able to craft some sort of epic "binds on pickup" items. Biochems get reusable stims and epic implants (they probably get the best exclusives), Cybertech gets epic ear pieces and grenades, and Armour Smiths get epic suits. Artiface only gets a few lousy relics, which don't seem to possess nearly the benefit of the other crafting skills "bind on pickup" epics, and armstech gets nothing. It seems to me like the weapon smiths and being left out in the dust, especially in comparison to the biochems which probably already have the most profitable profession. Am I the only one seeing this? or is there something I don't know about.
  21. I would like to know the ways in which one acquires higher level recipes. I know you can reverse engineer lower level recipes to obtain the blue and purple version of said recipes, but is this how you acquire all recipes, or are many of the more potent recipes drops and such? Also, are there multiple possible recipes that can be acquired through reverse engineering?
  22. I want to know if you can ever find recipes for colour crystals other than the base colours. Kinda sucks to be limited to four colours when crafting.
  23. I'm just worried that when they raise the caps, the lag will get so bad that I need to roll on a new server anyway.
  24. I dunno. I'm kinda worried I'm going to have to re-roll a character one a less populated server. Hopefully when they raise the caps the game still runs smoothly.
