  1. Interesting back and forth. A couple of observations: 1. I didn't say I could not do it. I didn't say it can't be done. I said that trying and failing 6 or 7 times felt like hitting a brick wall. Why the brick wall feeling? Because up to that point, all story mode content I had done (including bosses) had been a breeze, and pretty much all Heroics I had done had also been a breeze. As others here have said, this is supposed to be a story mode battle tuned for solo (casual?) players. Or at least that's been my expectation born out by experience. It feels like a hard mode / master mode encounter had been spliced into the story mode content. 2. Note that I said I reached the encounter in 7.0.1. Note, too, that some component of the broken companion + level sync system got fixed in 7.0.2. From https://www.swtor.com/patchnotes/04262022/game-update-7.0.2: I haven't yet retried the fight in the current update; given the above, I expect I'll find the experience to be different in some way, maybe significant.
  2. This. Despite playing the game a bunch when it came out 10 years ago, I stopped playing around the time Shadow of Revan was released. Didn't jump back in until a couple of months ago, and decided to run a new character from level 1 to the end of the game, story-content wise. Hit the Gemini Captain sometime after 7.0.1 was released, and it was like hitting a concrete wall. Tried that fight a handful or two of times without luck. Spent at least $1M credits on companion gifts to level up Senya (from about lvl 4 to lvl 23). Still no go. I never got the captain to below about 75% health before she took me out. It was only then that I started searching the forums and found this gem: So...yeah. That character, a lvl 80 concentration sentinel with an item rating of 275, got stopped dead by the Gemini Captain. And my max level maybe worked against me. Bummer, I was really enjoying the story. Was hoping the 7.0.2 update to fix the issue(s), but looks like the issues with companions & level sync are one of the 2 or 3 things that still haven't been root caused.
  3. Great; I figure Bioware would aim to create an enjoyable experience across all of the classes, but didn't know how well they achieved that goal. Sounds like there aren't any major gotchas I need to be aware of. Good point, and accurate. Given the length of time that has gone by since I played the initial classes, I'll probably take advantage of the extended double XP event and do a couple of "completionist" runs through all expansions - 1 for each faction.
  4. Hi all, I'm a returning player; when the game first came out, I played Jedi Knight, Sith Warrior, and Inquisitor through the end of their story lines. When Rise of the Hutt Cartel and Shadow of Revan came out, I played through them with a single character. I haven't really played the game since then (early 2015?). I started playing again about a month ago...and the double XP event started not long after (yay!). I've since played through the class quest lines for 4 of the 5 remaining classes and am currently working on my last class (Jedi Consular). Cool story lines, though some of them skirt the boundaries of belief (a single non force user shouldn't be able to take out a member of the Jedi council / Dark council, like, ever). Anyhow, I'm wondering how best to move forward once done with class stories. In particular: Is there a recommended class (or classes) to go from 1 to 75? After Corellia, do Republic or Empire really matter (ie, do I need 1 char for each)? To what extent do decisions I made for any of the class story lines matter later in the game? Are certain classes "better" than others if I want late game impact for those decisions? Relative value of replaying class stories I last played 5+ years ago vs. moving onto KoFE, KoET, & Onslaught? Thanks.
