Yet another overreaction to a non-issue. Why not just stop posting on the forums and f off already then? Yet you continue to hang around and make out time less enjoyable.
-
Did you see it was actually 3% or are you just like all the other crybabies that have no ability to stand in line and wait their rightful turn to get in? 3% is 100% made up and you know it.

Yeh this will not top WoW. World of Warcraft is going to run its course till blizzard brings something new out.
I dunno, I guess I respectfully disagree. WOW is dieing quicker than you people think. There are just barely over 10 million people now and they've lost 1 million in the last year. Their flagship patch has just come out and people will have it completed by February/March im guessing and the exodus of people begins there. If they are aching for something to do and SWTOR is there. There is a high chance that people leave for SWTOR and if the game is quality they may not go back for happy happy panda time.

Because I know I could operate EA better than themselves. I am ACTUALLY a GAMER, I can relate to my fellow players.
EA suits are deciding how TOR runs and it's not a good direction
So what does you being a gamer do that makes you qualified to release an MMO with over 1 million subscribers is what I am asking? Just because your a gamer and know what YOU would like doesn't mean you would know a thing about releasing a videogame or even designing one for that matter.
-
Actually I preordered Old Republic first day and entered my code and I didnt get in. So I have a right to be pissed. I could careless about my name. I can make a million of those. Im not gonna cancel but this is a massive injustice.
An injustice? I hightly doubt they have taken away any of your liberties as a human being by not putting you into the game first. Learn what the real definition of injustice is.

Seriously WOW just **** and wait your turn. Thats all the rage is about right now is YOUR inability you wait your damn turn.
-
They aren't "Treating" you any way. They are going about their business they way they PROMISED they would.
You're not being disenfranchised or anything like that. Just chill the hell out and wait your turn. Thats what all this crap comes down to is people inability to wait...their .....TURN.

Say's you?

It all stems from people sense of entitlement that they have developed over time.

Another factor to consider, and it impacts WoW as well: Free-to-play MMOs. The quality of that market has shot up, dramatically, with high quality MMOs now available for the FtP model.
There are no FTP MMO's that are better than the subscription based ones though. Nothing stacks up against WOW in the FTP market. Thats not a bias its just that there is much muhc more to do in WOW than most FTP games. LOTRO is only as good as it is because it was designed under a subscription intent.
I think there is a major different between games that converted to FTP and games that set out to be FTP from the start.

Ok, so my brother is in the game playing now. He just rang me to ask if I could get in yet, which I can't, but I did register my pre-order code about a month after he did.
But, he didn't register his code until 27th July, yet he is playing the game while others registered before then and still haven't had an email.
So it this first come first served system randomly picking people from 'blocks' of one week at a time or something rather than truly being in the exact order?
Thats entirely possible, I'm sure there are going to be some small overlaps in the time-blocks. People are always going to find things like this. The best thing is if you dont get too worked up over it cause in all likelihood its only going to be another day or so and you'll be in.
Some people are reacting like bafoons and threatening to sue and blah blah blah.

And if that rings true, I shall not be very happy and I shall actually be making a phonecall to Trading standards UK and informing them on the misinformation provided by the retailer.
And yep, you are showing that same attitude that is creating a severe amount of ire, £5 for 1-2 days early access = rip off.
Again, I don't blame Bioware (although there marketting scheme is actually slightly illegal in the UK as several broadband firms have been in trouble for misleading information with there adverts of "get up to 20mb broadband", I still don't hold them responsible)...I blame the retailers.
Lol you, me and everyone in this thread knows you will do non of that.
-
These forums were trolled hard even before they were wiped, did you expect the trolls to hide under their bridges on the day of early access start? They didn't get in, of course they'll come here to troll. Bioware stole their sweetroll
I dont know that its only Trolls though, there are some people who talk like they are a major authority on what is the correct and wrong way you release an MMO. Its a little disgusting.
-
Because they are stupid and it's far easier to be an armchair quarterback than to be the real thing?
Pretty much. I lose a little faith in people when I read the crap that comes up on these forums.
-
Ever been to black friday at walmart? You call those adults...?
I dont think i've ever said anything about this being adults saying this.
-
It's being swept under the rug cause of the early access stuff. The grace period thing is still very real, and very screwed up.
True, but if you order a boxed copy of something that you want to play on release day then you're kind of inviting yourself to this sort of issue.
-
I can understand peoples frustration with today being that other people are able to play SWTOR and you aren't at the moment, but seriously--why all the people that are posting thread about what BioWare NEEDS to do. Testing other MMO's or playing other MMO's at launch really doesn't make you qualified to say what works and what doesn't with an MMO.
I read a thread stating "I've been playing video-games for 25 years and this has to be the worst MMO launch i've ever been a part of what you need to do it let everyone in at different times on the same day." How on earth does that qualify you to be considered in any measure as a credible source of input on how to "Properly" release a AAA MMO with almost a million preorders?
Here's another good on.
-
I have two questions I think should be answered for everyone's peace of mind.
1. What's going to prevent those few (% wise) people who got access today on PvP servers from reaching an easy enough level to gank other people at questing areas for the remainder of early access? Maybe you should have to manually flag yourself on PvP servers until the 20th?
2. I'm hoping people who got in were only allowed to make 1 character per server. It would be REALLY lame if everyone who got in today was allowed to max out characters and take all the popular names people should have had a fair chance to create themselves. Was there a character limit at all (aside from max)?
You have a genuine concern about getting a name? You have severely out of whach priorities....

What?
Do you even know the size of each wave, or did you just hear "wave" and decide to suck up to Bioware?
Did you know that they haven't even gotten all of the July pre-orders in yet? It went July 21st codes to July 27th.
They should not be congratulated for moving at a snail's pace.
Majority of the pre-orders where in the first few weeks. They are front heavy on preorders dude. When we get through like 1st week in Auguest the pace will pick up substantially.
-
"That's it for the day folks, great work. We've managed to get a dozen people on each server, so lets pack it up. Jim, tell Steve to hurry up if he needs a ride or we'll hit traffic. Don't forget to remind all of our customers to keep an eye on their email!"
Lol so the last wave goign out for the day means they are done for the day at work? IT doesn't mean they are going to hang around and monitor servers as people get home from work and the expected rush of people begin to log onto the game.
Nope none of what I said makes any sense at all.
-
You didn't pay $5 extra. The $5 is subtracted from your final total when you pick up the game. If you do end up paying $5 more you are a fool.
-
So you're only playing the game to get your shot at a server first is what you are saying?
-
All my guild mates are now playing yet being left behind and hopefully be in before my holidays on 15th
Well based on EXACTLY what BioWare has stated. You've clearly pre-ordered after your guild-mates.
So you are doing exactly what you should be doing right now. Waiting patiently.
BW's 9-5 job while the world waits.
