Ok so here's what's happening. I log onto Steam go to my library and select Star Wars The Old Republic. I select play the launcher comes up I provide my password and then I'm asked for my security code and I provide that. So everything is great. My security code is accepted the SWTOR launch splash page comes up and this is where is starts. Usually at this time I see the screen but there is no sound that comes out of the PC speakers. Well that is not the case any longer. When the launch splash page comes up now the audio tracks for the 6 cinematic movies of the expansions begins to play. The launcher continues to the player character page where I can select which character I want to play. However at this point the background music playing is from the first cinematic movie if I don't do anything it will basically go thru each of the sound files for each cinematic movie this is the music and the dialogue for each movie. I have gone to preferences and trying to turn the background or ambient sound down to "zero" does not work the sound for the cinematic movies continues to play. Recently I have returned and started playing the story line for my Imperial Agent Tishtidia I have recently started the 3rd story chapter "The Mind Trap". Once I get into the game the game appears to play fine however all of the game dialogue during the quests as well as any sound effects in game are basically drowned out because the SWTOR cinematic movie track is constantly playing. It goes thru each cinematic movie, there is a pause between playing but it never stops. This does not make for a fun player experience. I went on the internet and there was mention of a bug previously know as the infinite loop bug but that does not appear to what was discussed previously. In that bug players couldn't even get into the game and the launcher just kept starting over and over. This bug the game seems to play alright except you have a cinematic movie track constantly playing in the background and messing with being able to hear story dialogue anything else it is very annoying.
When I was playing on 6/22/2023 the game appeared to be playing fine and I had no issues. I logged out of the game in the late evening. The next day 6/23/2023 when I logged into the game thru Steam as usual this problem started. Not sure if it matters but also on 6/23/2023 I added an additional 2 questions to my security profile and I also added the SWTOR security application for even more protection. My digital security application was successfully activated for my account. Yesterday I was at like level 45 on my Imperial Agent Tishtidia and managed to get to level 50 but the way this bug is the game is hardly enjoyable to play. I tried launching the game on another character the bug does not go away. This appears to be something with the launcher since the cinematic sound track starts to play at the splash screen. Ever since 2019 I have never had any sort of music or dialogue on this screen or the player login screen. There were little sound effects when I selected a character or looked at aspects of the game. Also I tried to go to the cinematic area to see if playing the movies would stop it that did not work. I did place a customer support ticket in game but I have not been contacted by anyone yet. This bug is seriously making the game unplayable on all of my characters and also making the season and my subscription of money going down the toilet. I get that you recently did some serious game changes but this suddenly occurred in the last 48 hours and your game is not playable at this time.
