  1. To anyone complaining that the GS system is forcing them to play parts of the game they don't want to play: The GS is structured so that it can be completed by acquiring 5 GS levels per week (5 levels x 20 weeks = 100 levels). Oh, and: 5 months x 4 weeks per month = 20 weeks. If you're getting more than 5 GS levels per week, you're doing more than you need to. If you're getting more than 5 GS levels per week and you're playing parts of the game you don't want to, then chances are YOU'RE the one forcing you to play what you don't want to play. I don't do flashpoints, operations, warzones or GSF - which means I never do weekly POs. I log in every day and do 1 or 2 dailies that fall within my comfort zone and I'm still getting more than 5 levels per week. The only part of the game I've played doing this that I don't normally do has been Section X, Black Hole, and CZ-198 dailies - which, although unfamiliar, haven't been painful for me. I feel content.
  2. I'm having trouble with the Story Mode version. Several posts in this thread mention a heal ability. How does one get that? I have 4 abilities: Wrist Laser, Stomp, load rockets, and Rocket attack. A heal would be very helpful. Edit: Of course, I found it right after I posted this. It's all the way on the right hand end of the hot bar. I wonder how many people never see it there, like me?
  3. This thread's bug was fixed with patch 5.0.1. You might want to contact CS about your issue.
  4. More info: These character preview issues DO NOT occur when previewing items from Legacy Storage in a stronghold, but DO occur when previewing items from regular storage on Fleet, etc..
  5. I'm in the same boat as DarthPlecko. So, there really is no "Prelude" content? It's just having the game grant you Ch 1 from the Chapters window?
  6. Thanks. I didn't realize we got both of them and was trying to look at them to choose which one i wanted before accepting credit for the quest.
  7. I did the quest to recruit her. When i Ctrl-Left Click on the customizations in the quest reward window, all i see is her blaster - no body, no armor, no customizations. I submitted this bug ingame, but i'm curious if anyone else is affected by this or if someone knows of a place online where i can see them so i know what i'm choosing.
  8. I also have that problem and, even though i can sometimes launch Task Manager, i can never switch to it to utilize it. At that point i have to sign out of Windows or reboot. My solution is to log out to the character select screen and quit the game from there. Then it exits normally.
  9. I've finished KotFE and just found out about the terminal. I'd like to bring back Jaesa, but the terminal seems to suggest that doing so will break the story. It's very vague, though, and i don't understand what they mean by that. What are the consequences to bringing back a companion who isn't recruitable through the story, and are there additional consequences to bringing one back who is recruitable before you get to the point where you can recruit them? I've looked at some threads about the terminal, but they all seem to be from when it was originally released and bugged. I haven't seen any info about what the consequences are to using the terminal.
  10. The bug you linked to happens on the Character Select screen and in cut scenes, from what i understand. The bugs we're talking about happen in the Character Preview window (the window that opens when one previews gear on their character). Also, the effect i'm posting about isn't random black spots (like in the bug you linked to), it's where an entire piece of gear loses its texture and shows the gear lit with a black shader and no texture. If you're experiencing what i'm posting about, it's not related to the bug you linked to, which, as you say, has been fixed.
  11. Thanks, but it''s not the same issue at all. It's a different effect that happens under different conditions. I was using 372.90. I updated to 375.70 just now and am still experiencing the issue.
  12. In addition to the behavior described in the OP, i also find that textures are sometimes removed, leaving the body part covered in black. This happens first for me, before body parts begin to disappear. The disappearing textures usually begin after zooming or rotating the character. If i continue to use the same preview window by re-previewing the same item twice so that the texture comes back, that's when body parts can begin to disappear. Also, it seems that previewing cartel market items can more easily make the entire body disappear, leaving only that item. I often find it impossible to preview more than one item at the same time, due to all the disappearing textures and body parts.
  13. The launcher now stops downloading at 10.01GB remaining. Terminating the launcher and restarting doesn't help. Rebooting the computer and restarting the launcher also doesn't help. The launcher is stuck at 10.01GB remaining. UPDATE: launcher now continues to download past 10.01G remaining.
  14. Leveling happens fairly quickly in this game. I'm not complaining, but i keep finding myself wanting to spend more time on a planet, exploring and killing stuff, before moving on to the next one. The problems with doing this are that i quickly out-level the planet and mobs become too easy to be a challenge. I'm not wanting more content, just more time to "hang out" on a planet, having fun, before moving on. I wish i had the option of toggling XP Gain off so that i could explore and kill things without gaining any xp. That way i could choose to go into "free mode" and enjoy my current content without leveling out of it until i want to, whether that's in the beginning of a planet, the middle or at the end. Once i felt done "hanging out" in an area or on a planet i could toggle XP Gain back on and move on. I can imagine this greatly increasing the amount of time that i spend playing each character. I'm one of those players who spends much more time leveling alts than doing repetitive endgame stuff and i would enjoy a way to prolong that time. Being able to toggle XP Gain on and off would make that easy.
