So, I had this issue on my old computer a few years ago when it didn't have enough storage space. I'm not a tech genius, but it was explained to me that you have to have enough remaining storage to download the game and enough left to run the game. Kinda like the game taking only 55(ish) GB to download, but needs 75 GB to run. You *might* have a different issue, and might look how much storage you have first. I don't remember, but that might have been when I made the switch to Steam for a different update/download style/format/thing.

As much as I want to play, (and know my guilds need me) I'd rather wait an extra day or two for a fix, rather than a hopeful "we think this might work..." that just gets hopes up.

The graphics being stuck on high for the character select screen makes a fair bit of sense. And it would explain why I've got not hope of logging on until it's fixed. I have a second device, but it runs even lower graphics than my main, and I bet even if I removed all outfits from all 100 of my characters, it'd probably have the same problem. Though I am glad the internet drop hack has worked for some. I'm glad I can get my *fix*, though it's a baby lv 2 legacy, so it's like starting over. And I don't want to do that unless I can get my coins from three years of subs, security key, and purchases, and get my character names back, and ownership of my guilds transferred to me.

I tried this on Wednesday, and it sat at the loading screen for five hours while I read a book. Didn't do anything different. (Wasn't until I walked over and clicked with my mouse a few times that it crashed.)

I have not. It's been forever (almost 2 years) since I've done any Operation, and I've never done any at Master Mode.

My friend has 37 characters, and hasn't been affected by this at all. (Other than my venting.) She had the thought that it might by tied to a legacy achievement or something.

So, after dropping internet, and reconnecting, then tabbing out and back in, I was able to get into the satele shan server (I have ten toons there, but my highest is 19, and level 1 legacy) I was able to log on and play my characters like normal. The server select window did show -1 for each one though for character count, so I'm not 100% sure why it let me in this time, where it didn't last time. I was able to back out to the server select screen, and this time it shows the correct number of characters per server. I was also able to log into the Leviathan, and play the one lone character I have there. However, when I went back to the server select screen and tried to log into Star Forge, it got stuck on the loading screen again with the issue. (I also know that I've probably got at least one character, if not two or three, in each stronghold I have on Star Forge. That's where I usually log off)

I did try something different, and got halfway there. I logged on, but then between hitting the launch button and the game starting to load, I put my laptop into airplane mode. Then it booted me to the server select screen, and from there I reconnected to the internet and was able to go into my graphic settings, and I dropped them to the lowest possible potato settings. (I ran my game in mid-high without issues before) and then tried again. Unfortunately, it had the same problem even after that. I'm going to keep trying to get it to let me pick a different server (one that has less toons on it.) We'll see...

Why would it be a graphic card issue when we were able to play just fine before the update? My laptop is barely over a year old, and it's run just fine up to the update.

I just tried this, and there was no change.

I had thought that it might be connected to characters/unlocks. My account is three years old, but I've unlocked it so I have 100 characters total on Star Forge, 11 on Satele Shan, and one lone one on Leviathan. I've boosted a handful of them to 80, but have all but the Copero stronghold fully unlocked (for obvious reasons) and all but Rishi decorated to max. I also have two fully unlocked guilds' strongholds and flagships, also decorated to max. I've got 16 of my characters to the end of the newest Ord Mantell content, plus one more that I finished on and then deleted. I'm able to play just fine on my device with a free account made to test it, and completely fine on my brother's free account that I tried logging on with. I also tried on my old device (which I played on for the first two years, and my brother was playing on just fine on Sunday) and it has the same issue where it gets to the loading screen before the character select screen.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt... I've also tried all the fixes, and nothing works for me, even after reinstalling twice. I can log into my brother's account (F2P) and it runs just fine, it's just mine that won't load to the character select screen. (Occassionally it'll give me the ambient sounds/music for the char. select screen. I did have to drop my graphics from a high-ultra mix of custom settings with the last update, and had it on a high-medium mix, and it ran just fine until the update. and hoped it would be that issue, but not this time it seems. And though I'm not opposed to starting over with a fresh account, I would severely hate to lose my 100 characters and the 100s of dollars put into the game over the last few years, not counting the time and effort put into my guilds and strongholds. I've also tried logging in on my other laptop, which I played on for years before I got my new one, and ran it with a custom medium-low settings, and it has the exact same issue with not loading to the character select screen.
