  1. Companions are fine. If you don't like them, don't use them.
  2. No. They really are not. There is a skill tree. It just means more now. You may have. I hated the stat meta-game. I celebrated when that was gone. Half of the crafting materials were redundant. Really? I just completed a dozen on my smuggler just a few hours ago. Play KotFE and you will understand why. You will be changing companions so often that gearing them will be a nightmare. Grouped all three of these togethher because from what I understand, they are bugs. All these changes you have listed are good for the game. What confuses me is you haven't mentioned level sync, which I have mixed feelings for. Give the damn game an actual try first.
  3. For me, the point is story, not combat or stats or all that rubbish...
  4. Sorry, the op wasn't clear on that. If you are suggesting a hard mode switch, then i agree. Maybe have a button/switch on the website under "My account" (so you actually have to consciously activate it) What I think the hard switch should do is Half the XP you get from all sources Disable companion combat abilities Disable level sync in your phases (I dunno if it would be possible on a global scale) The thing is that a lot of these threads and posts are suggesting that BW should fix the changes on a global scale. Okay, i get they want a challenge. Great, but i don't. To me, 4.0 is perfect as it is. But I am completely fine with a hard mode switch, because it gives us the best of both worlds.
  5. Personally, I think sometimes leaving threads have a purpose. If someone posts a whiny "I am the most important person" thread, then yes... I agree they should be banned or something. but sometimes you have a legitimate gripe, and the unsub box isn't big enough. Those are generally suggestion threads, and should be in the suggestions forum (if the MMO has one), and are always written in a constructive manner aimed towards the devs. The second is fine... It is aimed at the developers, and isn't designed to gain attention... Just to tell the devs what you think needs to be fixed. The first is not fine. It is done purely for attention. ... And truth be told, we are all giving him that attention!
  6. I AM playing a single player game. It is called Star Wars: The Old Republic. That mod thing sounds good to me. End game, pvp, and pve are just as worthless to me as exploration is. I am here for the class stories, and the primary stories of the expansions. So far most of the objections to the xp set up I have seen want everything back the old way. Your way is different and I think it is acceptable.
  7. I have an idea. How about you let me play the game my way? Since it is my experience. Companions were worthless prior to patch 4.0. I prefer the way they are now.
  8. After reading Toastandtoast's post, I looked it up.... Really, OP? You are angry because you didn't get early access? If you were eligible, did you put in a ticket like the developers advised everyone to do last week? I'm guessing no.
  9. Please leave companions alone... I am begging you. If you don't like your companion, put it on passive and use it simply to collect resources on the map. That'll give you the same experience as pre-4.0.
  10. Let me see if I understand. A small minority, including yourself, wants to do ALL the content, so the XP is far too much and needs to be toned down. Fair enough argument, I guess. But it does leave the problem is those that only want to do the critical-path. They'll be about 10 levels under leveled by the time they reach chapter 2. The XP as it is is fine for what is intended. Getting you from 1 to 60 doing only the critical-path. Anything else you do on top of that is going to level you faster. My advice is to pretend the level and XP system don't exist. Do your quests, pvp, whatever and just enjoy doing those, not the meaningless rewards that come from it.
  11. Rocket boost can be used indoors. That is a function I love, so I hope they don't get rid of that!
  12. About 30 hours, probably. Those without early access get access to it Tuesday morning (US) or Tuesday Night (Australia) (about midday Europe) after maintenance. Keep in mind we have a small patch 4.0.1 so it'll probably be 12 hours of patching thanks to the lovely bitraider.
  13. Fun fact: SWTOR accounts cannot be deleted. I don't get why you want to leave, but I don't believe it either way. Those that want to leave generally do so without a fanfare.
  14. Level sync is fine as it is. The only down side it has is that the final bosses for the Sith classes are level 12.
  15. So? And? But? What? If you want a challenge, maybe you should try the flashpoints, PvP and operations. I just want to experience the story. I don't care for any stupid challenge
  16. You know... I was one of Level syncs harshest critics before 4.0 launch... and now, I honestly have to say I don't mind it. When I found myself under leveled for Alderaan yesterday, I went back to Dromund Kaas and finished off quests I hadn't touched there, ran the Black Talon twice, and finished up quests on Balmorra. Doing that allowed me to get ahead of the leveling curve, and I am no longer having trouble. Companions are not overpowered. They are tuned just fine. It is just that you are used to the worthless companions we had before the expansion, where you might have well not have had one at all. Of course there is too much XP if you do EVERYTHING. The game is designed so you can get to 60 doing only story missions (the purple ones). If you do exploration missions, heroics, dungeons, pvp, etc, you are going to find that you are collecting way too much XP. This is even more so if you use the XP boosts OR the guild and group XP buffs. The ONLY criticism I have is that level sync should be disabled in the phases on the origin worlds. Darth Baras and Darth Thanaton are level 12? Really? Dark council members are level 12? Disable level sync in those two phases, and any like it.
  17. This is an odd bug. I have been able to play Rise of the Hutt Cartel on every other character I have, but on my smuggler.. I am level 50. I have completed the class quests, and I have never done RotHC on this character... and yet the terminal only has a grey triangle above it. EDIT: The game offered the mission to me at level 51.
  18. This is actually a rather bizarre (read: Stupid) change that I am going to treat as a bug. Since 4.0, I have noticed a few characters can no longer use the weapons I had given them previously. Kira was unable to hold her single bladed lightsaber, for example. Eh, No biggie. I don't want her using a double blade, but she can have one... And then just now I find out Corso can not hold Torchy, which is a corso-only blaster pistol. If it is a bug, can it please be fixed, and if it was intentional, can the change please be reverted? Thank you.
  19. It is always something that will kill the game. *sigh*
  20. Right in the middle of a flashpoint! Argh!
  21. I will never understand peoples obsession with challenges. I don't care about having a challenge. I just want to have fun.
  22. Why leave it so long for the patch notes? I mean, the game is unfortunately crippled for a few people, and patch notes showing those bugs being fixed, would be a great relief.
  23. Check the dev tracker. There was a small bug that was preventing access if you were supposed to have it. Log out of the game and back in and see if that fixes it.
  24. Since alliance cutscenes aren't fully voiced, I can avoid them, right? There is no penalty for ignoring classic conversations?
  25. We do, we just don't believe in having everything hospital-level of sterile all the time! Seriously, I don't think there is a halloween counterpart in the star wars universe.
