  1. Spaces...lol more space !

Anyway , my OPINION . Is that *I* feel like she deserved to be left and get her freedom . Same with Vaylin ,I wanted redemption . The only thing that Irked me was having to Kill Senya to get to Arcann .

I never said Scorpio was bound by some programming . But most peoples think that machines think like we do . That they react to ''EMOTIONS'' like we do . They do not . They have their owns way of thinking .

well if you were paying attention , once you leave Ilos lol that place is in quaranteen . And nobody can come out of it and none know when it be safe to go back . So your ''Giving her high tech robot factory is a bad idea''....she cant come out and use them anyway . As for the futur...nobody know what will happen . Sometimes it's better to let thing slide..then cut them off out of fear or paranoia . I rather give her a chance and see what happen...if it turn out bad , then I deal with it when it happen . On that right moment ? getting out there was more important then planning years ahead what she would do .

Yeah, that's pretty naive. No thanks.

Scorpio lost her rights to live the moment she betrayed me; doubly so as an Agent since I wanted to kill her from the start, even more so than Kaliyo - at least Kaliyo was fun in a dangerous ***** kind of way (still gives you sexual favors too). Scorpio was the worst companion I ever had to tolerate since Skadge, constantly threatening to kill me when I should've just tossed her out the airlock. What a *****. If you're gonna try and kill me, at least make it fun and entertaining like with Kaliyo, letting me play her little head-games. Don't be a boring ****. If I was James Bond, I would've killed you from the start.

Being a machine doesn't excuse Scorpio because HK-55 is also a machine and he proved that machines can have enough sentience to determine right and wrong; Scorpio chose her fate. She deserves to die, period.

  2. she never made sense to me as a companion for a smuggler.

Yeah, well, this game and its strange choices for companions. Probably a result of the leftovers from the beta stage, when you could still dispose of companions you find unlikable. These "incompatible companions" were probably a result of their attempt to give player choices, but after the whining about killed companion healers, they couldn't be bothered to fix the companions' personality, so you get scraps like Akaavi and Skadge (though, again, I can't judge too harshly on Skadge). You also get someone like Ashara who couldn't be corrupted (or killed anymore). You also get Mako who cringes at killing in the face of a BOUNTY Hunter, so go figure.

    Strange companions everywhere.

  3. It's not like Bioware didn't or doesn't want to continue the class storylines and are intentionally opting to do single or faction-based storylines instead. They simply don't have the resources to continue the class storylines the way they originally planned to or to the same level players would expect the class stories to continue based on the vanilla content.

Look at how much story content there is or how quickly players are able to go through it whenever a new story update gets released. Now imagine that same amount of story content split 8 different ways uniquely across different classes. You'd end up with a situation where you'd only have 5 minutes of new story content for each class.

This has been the situation ever since the game went Free To Play. The development team was downsized and the game's budget was reduced. Once that happened there was no way to properly continue the class stories. EA would need to significantly re-invest in the game, give Bioware Austin more resources, etc, in order for SWTOR to see any kind of significant change to how it's story content is handled. EA however sees no reason to do so given that SWTOR makes money as is with EA only needing to spend little money on it in order for it to continue making money.

Yes, yes, don't have the resources, don't have enough budget, good intentions not resulting in satisfying actions; I've heard the preach before a dozen times, most of them from you IIRC. Very sad, very tragic, here's the world's tiniest violin. And as I've said before to those dozen times, I sympathize, but business is business. If they couldn't deliver the product I want, regardless of whom is to blame, then I'm sorry but have to move on and take my sub money and countless cartel coin purchases somewhere else...

And regardless of how much pain EA is giving Bioware, I could only judge by what I see as a consumer, a non-developer. I pay the money as a consumer, paying monthly subs, and I could only judge based on what I pay and what I want, not what game developers are trying to do, not what the game industry is doing with the state of things - the only thing that matters is me and my money and what I do with it. If something doesn't satisfy me, I simply move onto bigger and shinier things. It's a tough world out there in the entertainment business, where there are dozens of entertainers who can do your job of entertaining people better and perhaps even cheaper.

  4. Whilst many of my original class companions can go to hell (looking at you Gus Tuno, Risha and Skadge), my class LIs should have been left untouched.

To each his own, I guess. I'm playing through the Smuggler class story right now, and originally, I was gonna romance Akaavi 'coz 1) my female red-skinned Zabrak Sith Warrior is still my favorite toon/character roleplay so far, and 2) a female Zabrak romance is just far more interesting than a boring human. But theeen, I actually got to meet Akaavi, who turned out to be this vengeful and humorless stiff totally incompatible with my charismatic and wisecracking playboy Smuggler, unlike the saucey and dangerous femme fatale Risha who at least cares about profit over principles as much as my Smuggler, and twice as sarcastic too. Her ice-cold demeanor is the perfect dynamic to my Han Solo-ish scoundrel gunslinger, almost like Leia's cold reaction towards Han at the start.

I mean, I'm someone who finds the dangerous Kaliyo f-ing hot even though I also heard that she would also stab me in the back like Risha, so maybe it's just me that's weird, but I do love my women dangerous and spunky, especially in stories of noir and intrigue like the Smuggler and IA class stories. Risha especially so considering that she's not just a clean and sparkly princess like Leia, but more crude and vicious than that. Yum.

Same goes for Skadge. He's the only one who could stand my psychopath Bounty Hunter's DS actions while everyone kept moaning about me killing people, ugh. Wish Skadge joined earlier so I didn't have to put up with the other sissy crowds.

Haven't met Guss yet, but he seems like such a wet towel that he's probably the only one I agree that I would hate him.

  5. Echoes of Oblivion currently. It's stuck in this place where we couldn't skip it (yet) and are forced to go through it in order to move on with the Onslaught storyline.

I also don't like how we couldn't just attend the stupid Imp or Pub side interview/motivating speech before we're forced to repeat the Jedi Under Siege storyline. Everytime I finish a class story, skipping to Onslaught and Ossus, I pretty much give up and move onto the next unfinished class story because I got bored ten seconds into the Jedi Under Siege storyline AGAIN. I just want to hear my toon compliment "nice boots" without being forced to regurgitate your stupid and poorly written BS.

  6. Give more crap about the roleplay of individual classes and their unique class storylines than dedicate their budget and attention to the gameplay and mmo crap? Not settle for lazy single (or binary) storylines split into Imps and Pubs alone?

It's simple really. Doubt they'd bother to listen or read these posts though. So I'd just whine because I'm bored and like to sow dissent. :D

  7. Well, I wouldn't say death... more like limping on its last leg, the walking dead, carrying on without anyone noticing.

Seriously, if I didn't even play Mass Effect Legendary Edition, I wouldn't have thought of SWtOR again, an old game that hasn't popped up with serious marketing since forever compared to other AAA games like Cyberpunk or even Jedi Fallen Order, a more well-received SW game. "Dead game" is close, but clearly, there are still quite a few folks hanging around, even if the numbers are palely compared to those back in 2012.

As for these "combat styles," I think I've said enough, said my piece about it that it doesn't bear repeating. Just another gimmick to streamline everything into a more convenient structure for the devs to manage. I don't give a crap. I don't care about the combat. I don't pvp or do Ops. It's just noise to me, these news about combat styles.

  8. Gotta say, with every new class story I play, each gets more progressively boring than my first SW storyline. Maybe it's because the first one is the one you most fondly remember, but I doubt it.

Note that I haven't played SIN, Smuggler and IA yet.

Favorite Class Story so far: SW, hands down (though IA might replace this in the future). It's the one that I remember the most because of all the backstabbings and betrayals and becoming this high-ranking Wrath with all the power and none of the Jedi stiffness (you still get high ranks as Jedi, but you're not supposed to abuse the power).

Playing the LS Warrior was also fun. The Oasis mission made this class storyline more unique than the rest, because so far, none of the classes have a quest that directly ask you if you want to switch alignment (DS or LS). The Jedi Knight has something like that when you're captured by the Imps, but the alignment-switch is still more of a headcanon thing, something you imagine, rather than something that's a literal part of the story (where you imagine that the JK falls to the DS while under the Emperor's influence).

2nd: Jedi Consular. Surprisingly, I found this far less boring than every other class story save SW. Its use of diplomatic relations was so interesting as I got to play the politician. The only regret I had was playing this DS. I might create another one in the future leaning LS.

3rd: Trooper. Yes, Trooper. The class story was so boring, I agree, but playing the Commander Shepard of the Havoc Squad was so much fun, with Jen Hale's voice acting and you going "Havoc Squad, reporting for duty!" during every planetary mission. Makes doing those boring planet missions and heroics more interesting. Plus, you get an epic Mass Effect style mission on Corellia where you get to gather all the forces you've gathered so far and fight the final epic battle together.

4th: Jedi Knight. I haven't finished this technically (on Corellia now), but man, this was a snooze. When people said "This is the traditional hero's journey like Luke Skywalker," I guess I should've taken that as a warning sign because I don't like traditional or cliched. All my classes so far, I try to bend them in a way that they go against the conventional, the LS SW, the DS Consular, the honorless Mandalorian, the rude and sarcastic JK (except Trooper, because Femshep is awesome enough she doesn't need to compromise). So to get this boring-*** hero's journey, no thanks. I got bored midway, somewhere around Hoth or Voss, and went DS. Had to farm a lot of DS points through Diplomacy crew skill to get my face to match my morality, but it was worth it.

Also, going full DS on that stupid Voss mystic was hilarious. "Always first time for everything." lmao Totally worth it. Kira was horrified by my actions. Oh, love her reaction.

5th: BH. Ugh, so forgettable. I could barely remember what the class story was about. Something betrayal, something Darth trying to strangle you, something Skadge. This is probably the result of me playing this class story in the wrong way. I played a full DS psychopath only killing for the pleasure of it, when this class was probably meant for LS BHs with honor or some boring **** like that. Oh well.

Here's hoping the next few classes will get better. SIN looks promising, with the force ghosts and stuff; Smuggler's just looking to get laid, which is fun; then there's the epic and legendary IA. After watching Black Widow, I really, really want to play a female IA named Natasha, probably LS, because it's just so cool to imagine a redeemed IA going from DS to LS like Nat. lol But Kaliyo romance option, and I've been looking forward to sexing her since KotFE, so. Oh well. Next time, baby.

  9. My point being to try and think more about how you/they can make the most out of what the game already has within the limitations it has because that is at least a good first step in a direction to get closer to what you/we want.

Nah, think I'll just get my class stories done and call it a day. It's unfortunate that EA's a cheapskate when it comes to these things, but that's not my problem and has nothing to do with my enjoyment. I've got better things to do.

I mean, you tell me all these things, but all it comes down to is the game being a shell of its former self. They poured god knows how much into that marketing campaign for Knights of the Boring Empire, and they can't afford to pour their money into something more meaningful. It all comes down to money, it all comes down to how other games and other mmos and other companies have a bigger budget, so if they want to skimp by, that's their decision, I guess. ME3 had like tons of characters and dialogues to go through, but they managed it somehow, but as an mmo, it's inevitable that Bioware has to pour their money into anything else other than the story and dialogue, so I'm no longer interested.

Can we get back to the beta stage where things were more interesting and we get to kill our companions during class stories? I mean, that's when I'd have been more interested in continuing investing in this game, when my decision matters, not this piece of crap today.

I mean, honestly speaking, half the reason (probably more than half) I even bothered to continue and browse these pointless discussions about a mediocre game is because I'm bored and like to stir up trouble. lol Once I'm banned somehow, I'll move on to something else.

  10. I'm blaming people for being upset at second hand information. There's some things one can reasonably misunderstand about the new system. For example, I don't blame people asking for clarification when something is really not stated anywhere and could be taken a few different ways.

What I do blame people for is reading a clearly inflammatory or over-the-top post and taking that as gospel truth. Especially when what was discussed in the post was never even alluded to or downright contradicted by official sources.

This extends to everything in the last few days. Misinformation about alignment locks, people spreading the idea you can use a dualsaber as a Jedi Sage (an example), that you can mix and match abilities, down to people making posts about the "great pruning" and spreading fear and leaving out important contextual information. For example, not mentioning that abilities they claim are "gone" are actually referenced in the PTS and just not implemented yet.

There comes a point when someone needs to learn to gather their own information and make sense of what data is provided.

Seems like you've done plenty of being upset at other people's posts yourself. lol

  11. I've literally been nothing but putting out needless fires for the last few days across Discord because so many people can't take the time to understand the changes. People who think tech users will be able to use lightsabers, which they never said. People who think they can mix and match cross faction abilities, which was never promised. People who shout that this is the "great pruning" when literally three abilities that weren't even that class-defining are gone and the rest is accounted for. People who post that they don't want to be stuck with a pebble throwing light side Sith when the slide clearly said that you'll "need alignment to unlock access to the counterparts." Not "classes are alignment locked."

There's so much hysteria going on about this that it reminds me about disciplines in 3.0. If people would actually take like five-ten minutes each to read and understand the information that is out there, a lot of this could be avoided.

Can't really blame people for being upset though imho, especially after such a long period of disappointment after disappointment per expansion. I'm surprised you bothered to put out fires at all for this pos game.

  12. It would be kinda a waste if this is the end for all "interactive" companion "interactions." To think that each of us have come so far in our own class story journeys alongside our companions - Havoc Squad, Vette the Sith slave, Jaesa the corrupted Jedi - and their journeys would all end with a whimper. That would be a shame.

But the thing is, I'm just not really convinced that this is the end for companion interactions, considering that Nadia and Zenith played pretty big roles, and Nadia's conversation with JCs probably has a more personal feeling than with other classes during Jedi Under Siege (likewise with Doc and JKs), so it's hard to imagine that Bioware put in effort to developing these relationships just to abandon them entirely.

Perhaps it's wishful thinking, but I'm hoping that these "personal moments" we get with our companions will be developed further. I feel like we're hitting a climax of sorts in terms of the story arc, so it might be time to show how far our characters and their companions have come since their journey from Tython/Korriban/Ord Mantell/Hutta.

  13. But they can't. I think you're genuinely, absolutely positively mistaken what combat styles are. Tech classes (smugglers, troopers, bounty hunters and imperial agents) can't wield lightsabers and never will be able to. Force classes (Jedi and Sith) will still use all lightsaber types and won't be able to switch to blasters, cannons or snipers.

Even after 7.0, your smuggler won't be able to wield a lightsaber. Ever. That's why I am saying it doesn't beat RP consistency.

My mistake then. That's a good thing then.

They always could. There was never a point where any average Jedi or Sith was impervious to blaster fire. They are good, but there's also been examples of tech and blaster users going toe to toe with a Jedi and winning. Whether that makes sense for Arcann and Vaylin is another matter, but blasters killing Jedi isn't unheard of. Remember when Anakin said that "nothing can kill a Jedi!" and Qui-Gon's reply was basically: "Yeah, that would be neat..."?

Well, my point wasn't so much that they're impervious to blaster fire - of course they're still human and flesh and blood - but their connection to the force should be strong enough that they could either shield themselves or even detect where and when to dodge beforehand. For Consulars in particular, the force is almost like psychic, for example. There's a reason why only force users excel at using lightsabers over non-force users. They're wielding literally laser sticks. One touch of the stick and you're cut and sliced. You'd need something like the force to maneuver properly in combat.

And yeah, beating Arcann and Vaylin with a Smuggler class is a pretty big deal in the lore-breaking department.

  14. I have to ask: how will combat styles change this in any way? Most Jedi and Sith can freely learn whether they want to use one lightsaber, two or a dual-blade lightsaber. And within that there's tons of different styles. Most advanced Jedi can even switch between one or two lightsabers in the moment. Anakin used two lightsabers temporarily on Geonosis, Kit Fisto used two lightsabers against Grievous, Ahsoka switched from one lightsaber to two later on and Obi-Wan used two briefly in Clone Wars.

And I think most tech users can learn new weapons. I don't see why a Trooper shouldn't be able to use a sniper rifle when Aric Jorgan does it so well or why a mandalorian can't learn to use an assault cannon.

I don't see how combat styles breaks any form of RP consistency.

Read my thoughts on Boba wielding a lightsaber and then almost beating Vader.

To be honest, most of this game has been pretty lore-breaking ever since non-force users beat Arcane, a force-user, in lightsaber combat (even with Valkorian's help), so who cares. If a simple pistol can bring a Jedi/Sith down, then lore is out the window.

But again, this would open that can of worms I mentioned earlier. Now we're delving into whether if pistol fire can hurt Jedis and Siths with their control over the force... and that's a rabbit hole I'm not looking forward to travel down. If Bioware wants to convince me a lone Smuggler can take down Vaylin and Arcane with a cool pistol, that's their business. If Bioware wants to convince me all Smugglers can now wield lightsabers without having any connection to the force, that's their business.

Me? I'm just here to do things my way in my headcanon. Most of the RP I had is already headcanon already, so like I said, these changes in 7.0 don't really mean much to me nor do they affect me much.

  15. I'll agree, no Hunter should be using a lightsaber as good as a Jedi/Sith. Would think more likely to lose a limb as well.

Yeah. And the fact that Boba nearly defeated Vader - freaking VADER - in a lightsaber duel, that's what truly pissed people off. Vader's lightsaber skill is unparalleled - more so if we're talking about RotS Anakin - so Boba beating Vader in a duel is a joke.

  16. Well in Star Wars we see a Bounty Hunter who wields a sniper rifle. We see Troopers who wield Blaster pistols.

We've seen Jedi's use Blaster Pistols.

    So, lore intact.

A sniper's one thing, but a lightsaber's an entirely different scenario when it comes to non-force users using them. But that's a whole other can of worms I'm not motivated enough as a non-Star Wars fan to care about.

I do want lore to be consistent, but I don't really care enough about this game or SW to be perfectly honest to really argue about this.

My point was that there are a lot of people out there more anal than myself about this kind of Star Wars lore consistency. Meh. Furthermore, I've never even played KotOR, so I'm the last person to care about lore.

  17. I'd like to see the Saboteur have to deal with their romanced companion finding out the secret they've been keeping.

lol Should be no problem, considering I broke off with Quinn after he backstabbed me in my class story. I could tolerate a lot of things, but not betrayal and disloyalty.

Hooked up with Jaesa now, and she's pretty much sided with my SW on the light side of things and (would most probably) agreed that the Empire's full of self-centered slavers and war lords, so no problems there.

  18. Personally, I suspect that the only reason this game is still here is because it's "Star Wars"; and enough people are willing to shell out no matter how bad the game gets. I expect that if it hadn't been Star Wars, it would have died years ago.

The devs probably know this as well, that's why they're desperately doing their best to save what they could from this sinking ship: pander to their only source of profit, the subbers and cartel market patrons. Plus a ton of mediocre tie-ins to the TV shows like the Spirit of Vengeance FP and Bad Batch helmets, reeking of equal desperation. The boys can't even afford to hire Blur Studio anymore for their trailers, so that shows you just how limited their budget has been, probably due to EA budget cuts and whatnot - though the game running on a limited budget hasn't been a surprise since RotHC, let's be honest.

The future of SWtOR is grim, and I doubt I would be staying for long.

Meanwhile, the single player Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is kicking all kinds of *** with its Order 66 storyline. Hopefully, it would be the start of better SW games in the future.

  19. All this change does is open it up for RP players to have more fun with their RP.

That's fair, but I also think it's fair to say that for me, the RP's more about how it made a certain amount of sense for Jedis and Troopers to wield specific sets of weapons limited to their capabilities (hence why there was a hotbed of rebuke for Boba's wielding of a freaking Lightsaber). To change that consistency of in-universe logic is fine for RPers who want more freedom of expression, but it just doesn't make much difference to me since I like my lore to be intact and sensible within the broader Star Wars universe.

  20. Can't say I'm surprised that both the Imps AND the Pubs resort to a nonsensical paranoid decision to go back to their older selves. It's called Star WARS after all, not Star Peace. It's comic book logic at its most basic: reverting back to status quo is inevitable.
