50 deception here.
Talos is absolutely indespensible for a low AR deceptionist. No lv 50 elite can be soloed without his heals, ever. When the going gets tough even with his heals, I switch to dark charge. If that doesn't cut it I pop a 'Channel the Force' and med kits. If that still doesn't work out I activate overload saber and spam melee attacks on dark charge.
That being said, he kind of relegates the rest of my companions into obscurity.
Save for Khlem which is use once in a while to tank for a few seconds before he expires.
In summary, what a Deception DPS really needs is GOOD ARMOR. But we all know that will imba us. Thats where good healing and tanking companions come in.
It's interesting the variety of dps companions that bw has provided for us but unless I'm confident of cutting down someone fast, my focused companion will indefinitely be Talos.
