  1. Well, from the comics, novel he is very flexible and agile if only they didn't forget that part for the game version
  2. Swtor didn't forget, it's just that Boyd made the decision to kill off pretty much every class companion (even some non-class companion ones) except the Knights, so effectively most of the class companions are now bricked and will never be used much in the story. Blame Boyd, and also all the people who kept whining for character deaths, instead of simply not using the companions they hated so much, now more than half (nearly all) of the companions can't be used, and now we're stuck with companion list full of bricks. DS players fault. Players opened this can of worms when they started complaining about not being able to kill certain companions after Bioware already took away that ability from the original beta and for good reason it turns out. And once they started complaining about the one, it opened the door for 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Funny how that works, last time I was invested in this game a couple years back. The complaints were the exact opposite, and everyone was FOR companions being killable. Now I come back to the game years later in the midst of the wasteland left, with almost all of the companions being bricked. Now there's a different climate and tune in the fandom altogether. Careful what you wish for.
  3. There is a slight bit of homophobia there as well. I've noticed that anytime someone especially a male brings up the male bi romances in chat, as in the actual non-meme romances, Hetero males will always manage to throw Khem into the conversation and go on about how sexually attracted they are to him as a way of mocking people. Certain Heterosexual men seem to not be ok with male x male convos being brought up, until it's a mock romance with a monster they can use to poke fun with. They know they won't actually romance Khem over their waifus, but they enjoy using Khem to shutdown any lgbt conversation. Surprisingly, for a company known for it's inclusion, there are a lot of toxic people like that in this game. I once saw someone say Theron being a romance option for non-heterosexual people ruined the character for him lmao.
  4. I'm pretty sure he can get drunk. Not like he's completely a cyborg. Don't think none of the implants in his left eye prevent him from getting drunk
  5. That would be funny, though Theron's a little too stoic to break out in song lmao. We can barely get him to smile. Him and Lord Scourge be the grump bois lmao
  6. That's true, i've noticed that. Theron always seems to have a lot more animations in his eyes and face and head movements than the other companions. It's even noticeable in the Echoes of oblivion scenes where he is constantly animated while the PC is talking and most of the other npcs just turn their heads at whoever is talking with a blank stare lmao
  7. That's because on Pubside, it's already established that Theron likes you, before Yavin you had already spent a lot of time together in other scenes, there's nothing for him to be awkward, dodgy or hesistant about on pubside. You get more intimate scenes and kisses with him on Pub. So you already know he cares. You can even offer Theron to join your crew on pubside, only for him to turn it down because he wants to stick it out with SIS before once again kissing the PC and promising never to make the mistake of not calling them right away again. On Pubside, it's never outright stated, but the PC/Theron are definately a "thing", on Impside it's more like a fling. But that's not what i'm saying. In SoR, it made sense for one side to have more content. As Lana was Impside and Theron was the pubside character, but now they no longer operate like that, so he should have equal screentime pub/imp side.
  8. lol anyway. We need to keep pressuring Bioware to make Theron equal on both sides as Lana is. Theron needs as many scenes/screentime on Pubside as he does on Imp. It's insane that a pub character has more screentime with imps in Onslaught than he does with Pubs. But as someone else suggested it's probably because they want to promote Tau and Arn so they take up a lot of pub screentime, but still.
  9. Not sure I agree. Marr was great, but ultimately he served his purpose. He gave some speeches, had a few monologues. Short and sweet. Honestly being a companion probably would have lessened him.
  10. I never got the excuse of "I can't like this character because they're pub or imp", what does them being pub or imp change about them literally being one of your closest friends? You can like characters from the opposite side. I mostly play Pub, but I still like Marr.
  11. /bootleg theron Give us the real one!
  12. Theron Shan is high key a hero. Not only because of the things he has done in the Novel/Comics. IE: Getting the ascendant spear destroyed. A superweapon powerful enough to wipe out entire republic fleet ships and turn the tide of every battle. But even in Nathema, imagine a Darkside commander having access to something as powerful as the fleet or Gravestone. A mega threat to everyone in the galaxy right? No one group of people should have that kind of power over people especially not someone evil. If you're playing a hardcore DS character Theron kinda saves everyone twice. Of course saving you from Zildrog Order's shenanigans, but also low key indirectly making it so that a DS commander is humbled and slightly depowered lmao. Pretty ****** when you think about it.
  13. Problem is, the writers killed off too many legacy characters too soon. You look at characters like Malcom, or Gnost they had a lot of history of content in the books some comics even. All to be wasted in one expansion, some in the dumbest of ways. The writers have wasted just about all the legacy characters within the swtor universe. Satele is just about one of the few still remaining. Where we should have had tons of legacy characters being developed in the story simultaneously throughout, the devs just decided to throw most of them away and place all their bets on Lana. Which would not be so much a problem IF she was as entertaining and developed to warrant the focus. But she isn't, infact as other's have stated she arguably has the least attachments or connections to the other characters in the swtor universe besides the PC himself/herself.
  14. Seems like it's time for me to pick up and finish his book since everyone says it's good Sure, but i'm talking about before, plus the decisions after. Lana would never act that way towards Theron, infact SHE being both pragmatic and close to Theron should have known things didn't appear as they were, she should have been the voice of reason to a commander not Arcann
  15. ^ Edgelords gonna edgelord. But on a positive note, and a reason for why you shouldn't care what a minority of edgelords think. https://i.imgur.com/L8PMj80.png Theron always wins on all the polls
  16. Perhaps, but I think it's a stronger case that; the devs have killed off so many characters that it's made people who don't or never really liked Lana dislike her more because now there's not enough balance between her and other people within the alliance. Whereas in the past there were more people to alternate between, now it's just Lana which makes her a bit overexposed.
  17. It definately does, on several occassions the way they talk about each other like they're ride or die, and have each other's backs no matter what throughout the game, small example here: https://imgur.com/a/oiHu4c3 And even during the fight with Valkorian, if you chose not to spare Arcann or Senya Theron: Lana, make a run for it i'll cover you Lana: No we fight together, we die together. Makes it even more obvious neither would ever do what they did in the DS end or even Lana casting Theron out from the beginning, when she should have been the voice of reason to a conflicted PC, NOT ARCANN it should have been Lana believing in Theron. That's why I had to decanonize it in my head as some bizarre alternate universe because it just doesn't make sense for either character given how much they've built up.
  18. Satele actually does acknowledge the relationship, so there's that
  19. Man, I can't believe people allowed Boyd to get away with so much back then, remembering the entirety of Nathema. How can one person write something so horribly. It doesn't just mess up Theron's character but Lana's as well.
  20. Same here, I love Senya but Arcann didn't deserve redemption imo. Still shocked there are some peope who actually romanced him lmao. Imagine romancing someone who actively slaughtered millions and tried to harm all your friends.
  21. Nothing's coming of it. It's a one off, an acknowledgement of the meme by the devs for a laugh. That's it. And personally i'm kinda glad it's a one off, too many times with romances on the male side of things straight men push for these romances with monsters and creatures and devs often think that's what women/gay men want.
  22. That's the key difference though. No one needs to take what Theron says at face value, for various reasons. 1. There were several obvious hints sprinkled throughout every aspect of the story, from beginning to end making us question every single thing that was done. Like how could the republic's top agent who literally has implants that allows him to lock on to targets, could be such a terrible shot and miss so many times. Yet aim so specifically at a window and a button, and somehow miss the PC everytime, And only shoot Lana with a non-lethal shot. He also verbally counted down the time the PC had. We were also, in dialogue given several options to believe all wasn't as it seemed, options we never got for Quinn. 2. Theron's entire speech was completely out of character and non-sensical. Theron explicitly says "Everything i've done from day one has been to undermine the alliance", The player character already knows this is untrue because everything Theron did thus far actually made the alliance as successful as it became. NOT to undermine it, nothing he did at this point undermined the alliance, so we knew he was either a double agent or putting on a show for someone. Remember Theron was responsible for bringing in a large chunk of the agents, specialist, and resources he even was the one responsible for the alliance with the Mandalorians. He was the one to find out about the Star Fortresses and assisted us in taking them out. So right off the bat we knew something was up because Theron's entire speech was contradictory to who he was and what he had actually done for the alliance. 3. He clearly assist the PC throughout the entire arc. 4. Even before the whole "betrayal", we get several hints that Theron is only doing this to protect the alliance and the PC, it's especially obvious for a romanced PC listening to his dialogue before all this takes place. I'm not trying to badmouth Quinn at all, I have saved him on all my characters. But he DID betray us, and it's not the same situation as Theron it just isn't. But that picture is lovely lol.
  23. ^ It 100% means exactly that, when a character has effectlively stolen the roles of other characters. Their budget for this content, not exactly huge. Focusing on one or two characters IS effectively taking screentime away from others. Lana fans don't want to admit it's a problem, and why would they, their fave is the one reaping the benefits of this. But that does not make the problem non-existent. Too many people have acknowledged it at this point. An excellent way to solve this problem while keeping the budget intact, is by giving other characters their own shine and development from content release to content release while sidelining the ones who already had their share for the specific release, similar to how Scourge and Kira got. And secondly the most popular character in this game was already killed off, Marr. His character was beloved for being well.... a well written character, Lana's love comes from mostly romance simps who had to romance her because all their original LI's were shipped away, boosted even further by being the first same sex romance option. Not necessarily because her character is developed or good. But even from a romance perspective it's not as if she's the definitive one. On virtually most of the polls i've seen she is never the "definitive option" completely overshadowing all others to the point it's like Lana or nothing. You usually see Kira, Vette or the other girls competing quite fine in votes on the official reddit polls. Giving Lana a kill or boot option is not driving away subs it didn't for Vette and it's not for Lana, because it's not bringing them in to begin with. The game is probably more subscribed to NOW, than it was back then when Lana was even more exposed and in the forefront of the story, you know when most of the fanbase dropped off from the game. She didn't save it then. Kotxx still got cancelled halfway through and most of the subs dropped the game. Actually, the game has more subs now that most of the classes original companions are back then it did then. Furthermore, if she actually was the sole reason for playing this game as suggested, she would not be sidelined in the story as much as her fans claim she is at the moment lol
  24. People are still hoping for an engine upgrade? It's not happening lol It was just a small example of how fans can sometimes defend objectively bad things. The same situation that happened with Cyberpunk most recently. Anyway I loved some of the vanilla stories, some were really good, but i'm curious as to what the actual good expansion content releases were, since vanilla. Because it seems like with each expansion they either royally wrote themselves into a corner, or damaged characters so bad they had to spend the next content release trying to redeem them and fix the story. SoR had decent moments but overall was a disaster for Revan. RothC was completely throwaway. Kotxx almost killed the game and had to be rushed to completion. Don't even get me started on how disastrous Nathema was, the pointless deaths of many characters showing up after hiatus just to be killed, the total assassination of a character and the macguffin that was pulled. What content release since vanilla storywise ever did more good than harm? lol
  25. I'm very active in the community. It's not on most people's radar at all. I've personally defended the game (mainly some of the vanilla class stories) only to be blasted or "lol'd" at by other SW fans in the community. The same people who support swtor now, are the same people who always supported it in the community back when it was actually tortanic status, so nothing new there. People were defending even Andromeda when it was absolutely disgaceful at retail. I still like aspects of the game, i'm just not delusional about it's status. It's not popular by any stretch, nor is it bringing in these big bucks or gaining significant populations like some of the players keep trying to convince (there's literally only 2 NA servers, 5 in total, unheard of for actually popular mmos), but that's ok. And the fact of the matter is if the xpacs DID have good quality they wouldn't have driven away a large percentage of the fanbase, wouldn't be looked back on as terrible expansions, and the devs wouldn't have had to cancel the model completely and rush to end the entire arc lol. As for me being here, I am one of those who left. Only came back recently to see what's what. And now I hear they're possibly trying to bring back another villain (Vaylin) after echoes pretty much wrapped the valkorian famly up AGAIN. Smh, Vaylin of all people? We can't do better than that?
