You can get a good tan?

Hi people, I played a few years ago and lost my account so I started a new one. I was never really fond of knights of the fallen empire because i lost my companions from the story campaign. Can I skip it and go straight to onslaught after ive done the story missions or should i do it all? What would you recomend? Feels good to be back!
