  1. Well the game and launcher run fine without installing the one SWTOR wants. As its a newer version, it should be running fine and it appears to be doing so. I am not sure why it doesn't see a newer version is installed and just ignores the request.
  2. I do development on my machine and also play a lot of other games. I have the C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable already installed on my computer, but every time SWTOR launcher starts, I get a UAC prompt where it tries to install the redist. Problem is, they provided an older version so I get error 0x80070666 which means a newer version is already installed on my computer. Is there a way to stop this UAC from coming up every time I start the launcher?
  3. Thanks everyone. I was making sure I wasn't missing anything but it sounds like I will just create 8 characters for the story and start them all at level 1.
  4. As someone that plays this game mostly for the stories, is there a point to boost a character? If I make a level 60 Jedi Knight, I won't be able to go through the story in the levels 1-59 areas correct? Is there some advantage I am not seeing?
  5. I just started up the game and I have a 2560x1440 display. It looks like it is rendering the game at 5K resolution and only showing me the top left quadrant of the screen, so I cannot do anything. Is there a way to fix this?
  6. So I played this game a few years ago. It was a nice MMO in the sense that it was very story driven and you can technically "solo" the core game if you want, which is what I like. I don't get a lot of free time so jumping on for an hour or two every few days just to do the story missions was quite fun. I had to create a new account as I completely lost my login information and no longer have access to the email address I had before. I almost had to get a brand new Nintendo account too Is there anything new worth mentioning? Can you still "solo" the main story aspect of the game? I think I read somewhere that the leveling was changed, is this true? Do you still need to do a lot of side quests, or are the main story missions enough to stay leveled? The last thing I remember is that housing was new, you could get the droid companion but I never could as I didn't have the time to devote to the group activities it required. Is this still a requirement, or can you get it solo now?
