  1. When the outlander is really Scorpion from MK http://i.imgur.com/qAxKbxh.jpg?1[/img]"]http://i.imgur.com/qAxKbxh.jpg?1
  2. Someone who actually makes sense, I like you and this much I can agree with. One thing you are forgetting as well however is the budget for the game and the budget for marketing are separate entities. Did they choose to take from the game budget? It's entirely possible but at this point it is purely speculation. I would have rather them taken from marketing and focused more on the game but unfortunately this is the gaming industry currently. Shiny CGI is all the rave.
  3. Also, let's point out that they are given a budget which they have to remain faithful to. IF we go by your logic which isn't totally unreasonable they can take money which would have been allocated to VO for said section and reallocate it to another area of the expansion. Therefore we get a nice throwback + improvements to other areas of the game possibly, rather than just fully VO'd alliance members. Stop me if I am making too much sense.
  4. Please tell me how you know this. Do you work at Bioware? Do you know somebody within the development of the game? Or is this just another rabid fanboy running his mouth wild with speculation because he didn't get everything he wanted for Christmas. Any proof what so ever ? Even the tinniest spec of dirt will do. Enlighten me
  5. I would say a large amount of the individuals who post on the forums are simply frustrated and wanting their opinions to be heard. You see many a great complaint posts because the ones who actually enjoy the game are.... well, in game. Now I despise the toxicity and drunkard arguments of some posts here, however some of them allow the developers to get feedback. One thing you learn within marketing is you are always going to have the blind fanboys and blind haters which you want to ignore. The ones who you should lookout for are those in between which have the most constructive input for companies. That's where these forums come in, every once in a while you see these posts floating about as if magically in this one post both time and space cease to exist and people largely agree on something. In these posts developers can find sensible feedback, which at times turns into something actually being fixed/implemented/changed within the game.

    children

As interesting as it would be to add children into the game this isn't the Sims. I am too busy trying to conquer the galaxy and will be fighting off an Emperor, I don't have time to find a babysitter. Much less worry about the implications of him/her growing up in a war torn galaxy where their father and mother run about as mass murderers. I don't need to see my character stop off at the day care before skipping off on a murder spree to a planet full of rebels and innocents. I'll stick to an Akk Dog companion thank you!
  7. I tend to use the characters story to progress through the relationship with their companions. My Sorcerer started off on the light side path ultimately marrying Ashara because it seemed logical with how I had made the story progress. However during the course of chapter 3 and the expansions he eventually began to fall into the hopelessness and despair of acting as a member of the Dark Council. The inevitable temptation of the dark side even if temporary caused a shift in his allegiances. His new found neutrality and selfishness worked well with Lana's story, during the course of the Revan expansion he broke his vows with Ashara and chose Lana. I will most likely do the same in KoTFe, waiting to see how his years in stasis and confrontation with the Emperor as well as Lana's changes in personality ( if any) are reflected on the story. It could go either way with my Sorcerer, rekindling his relationship with Ashara or continuing with Lana. Who knows, if Theron has become less of a **** my Sorcerer could end up playing on the opposite side of the field.
  8. Wield Revan's Lightsaber or contain the Emperor's essence in a lightsaber ; what if gear mattered? While questing in Destiny : The Taken King I came across quests for Touch of Malice and Sleeper Stimulant which require time and perseverance to complete, rewarding you with the some of the most powerful weapons in the game. Having the gun in your possession actually means something (The pieces you obtained during the quests are actually seen in the weapons models), setting apart casual from hardcore it's their "joie de vivre" ( Joy of Life). During this time I wondered why other games don't attempt this more often, bringing me to SWTOR. All of the gear is purely cosmetic when referring to important figures such as Revan, Satele, Bane , etc... The Raid Gear with set bonuses are decent but have no real distinguishing features or interesting lore behind them, they just drop off bosses and feel very typical of MMO's. A majority of PvP gear is just a knockoff set of Raid Gear. So I took the time to come up with a handful of rough ideas revolving around weapons seeing as most important figures armor is already in game within the cartel market. Some examples: Dragon's Bane - A lightsaber with a Krayt Dragon's pearl, chance on hit to proc Krayt's Rage ( Increases dmg by x % for x seconds) Mandalore's Resolve - Blaster Pistol of the previous Mandalore, chance on receiving damage to proc Mandalorian resolve ( reduce damage taken by x % for x seconds) Revan's Legacy - Revan Lightsaber, chance on hit to proc Undying Force ( increased resource pool regen by x % for x seconds) Valkoren's Will - "this lightsaber contains a small amount of the former Emperor's essence" , chance on hit to proc Unlimited Power ( chain lightning strikes target hit) Gamblers Luck - Blaster Pistol, chance on hit to proc Jackpot ( next ability has 100% crit chance ) Sureshot - Sniper rifle, while remaining out of combat for x seconds gain Stack The Deck ( Next ability has no cost and does x % increased dmg) These would be obtainable through chain quests which would build/search/discover the weapon while creating its lore during the quests. The quests would be mostly text based allowing individuals to delve into their imagination rather then rely on cut scenes. They would also relate to the item and have purpose rather than just "kill 50 x". Quests would have multiple requirements and restrictions, through time locks ( Bounty contract week), raiding, pvp, etc.. depending on the weapon and its lore. Relying on text would facilitate things from a developers standpoint as well, not having to worry about extra animating, VO, etc... How I believe it could help: - More end game content - Powerful and awesome gear that isn't purchasable - Expanded lore - Challenge with rewards - Unique gear This would be for the dedicated, not overly casual. Bioware has already catered to them a great deal and still does, the Cartel Market is proof of such. I would like to enjoy achieving something in this game again rather than grind for little purpose. Give us reason to care about our gear. Make it matter. Note: I am simply taking Bungie's approach and slapping Star Wars on it.
  9. In regards to design, how would you explain how the appearance at the very least came to be? It was designed 3000 years in the future yet somehow 3000 years prior an exact copy existed. Let us use cars as a comparison to facilitate things. To my knowledge they had the materials for a Lamborghini back when automobiles were first commercialized, yet I highly doubt you would ever have seen one back then. It's current designs are inspired by our current day and age, even at times the past will influence design; its technology is based off what we can both achieve and afford. The reason for this is because it is catered to current societal needs and wants. Going back to Star Wars you cannot relate any of this logically enough to add in Trilogy based skins, it simply would not make sense with where SWTOR sits on the timeline according to the Trilogy.
  10. Let us create a game set in Medieval France, have a tank roll through with Donald Trump riding inside screaming "Murica'!" and leave no explanation as to how and/or why. This is roughly what you are describing to me in regards to what you want within SWTOR. There are certain guidelines that MUST be followed. The appearance of being similar but not quite is intentional, in this case it is to mark the future transition into that technology. You see this in reverse in the upcoming Star Wars VII, with New Order troopers bearing a strong resemblance to their predecessors. The technology must be consistent with the respective timeline, wanting to add an exact replica of Stormtrooper or Boba Fett's armor for example would be non nonsensical and break immersion massively. How would you explain this individual having technology or items from 3000 years into the future? I cannot being to comprehend how you process this in your mind, as even within the prequels and original trilogy you see this happen to the same degree. Because a Lightsaber isn't recognizable enough I guess
  11. IF this were to occur I think it would be a small scene showing your allegiance to the opposite but that would be all. What I mean by this is, you will still act as an agent of said faction, forge the same story but your loyalties would be tied with the opposing. I highly doubt we will see any concrete faction changing though, it would cause a lot of issues with potential future story lines. Let us say you decide to switch sides, how will said story progress knowing you are Sith working with the Jedi or vice versa. People would expect depth to your choice, having consequences shown within the scenes. This is something I don't think Bioware has the resources to engage in at the time, especially since many are hoping for PvE and PvP content after this massive focus on story.
  12. I did the same on my LS Trooper, I made a similar decision in Dragon Age 3. I hope we aren't faced with anything of the likes in KoTFE, I will be letting the galaxy down if I do. Especially now that the Empire and Republic are pretty much torn.
  13. Could you? The excitement is in the air to kill off our most hated crew members, anticipating the day KoTFE is released to silence them forever. However, what if you are given the option to kill of a former/current love interest. Looking at Anysao's post I wondered for a moment, if given the option to betray/kill Ashara would I be able to do so? My Sorcerer's eyes gaze towards Lana now, I no longer look seek Ashara or the light as I once did. Yet I hesitated. This is a companion I came to despise, her lack of development and naive personality pummeled into my brain to the point I could stand it no more. As annoying as I find her, she was my most used companion during the first year, I maximized her affection and my Sorcerer found his way into a "relationship". Even if there was nothing attached, I doubt I would bring my saber to her. Better yet being faced with a choice between your love interest and the fate of thousands or another favorite companion. This is Bioware's expertise, we have seen them grasp our hearts in Mass Effect and Dragon Age; I find it highly conceivable that in KoTFE they will do so again. In either of these situations could you find yourself killing/sacrificing your love interest? If so why?
