  1. Thank you, Sunjammer! In fact, need to change only one digit: 1 instead of 2 in the line AnchorAlignment. Before: <WelcomeWindow> <AnchorOffsetX Type="3" Value="0.000000" /> <AnchorOffsetY Type="3" Value="0.000000" /> <AnchorAlignment Type="3" Value="2.000000" /> </WelcomeWindow> After: <WelcomeWindow> <AnchorOffsetX Type="3" Value="0.000000" /> <AnchorOffsetY Type="3" Value="0.000000" /> <AnchorAlignment Type="3" Value="1.000000" /> </WelcomeWindow>
  2. You are right, it's not a part of SWTOR, it's the Nvidia driver. I eventually have found a culprit, it's a binary component nvdrsdb.bin, which contains all these paths and launchers of different video games. I even can guess why they have done this, it's a part of predefined Nvidia driver settings for particular games, such list of games can be found in driver control panel, but if the user hasn't selected a specific game, driver may perform a search. Why they try to look again and again at this list after start of the SWTOR launcher, is another question. I long time suspected that Nvidia makes the software components quite careless. My apologies to SWTOR developers, it's not a bug on their side, not at all. Many thanks to Steve for good advices.
  3. Thank you for assistance! I think that it's very important to resolve this issue. Usually I count on built-in Windows Security in Windows 11, it's always properly updated. It shows nothing suspicious. Currently I have tested OS with Malwarebytes with all possible maximum detections, also nothing. Apparently need to try other tools. Unfortunately it's hard to guess where exactly this spyware may reside, otherwise I would check it online on virustotal.com, but full size of all SWTOR binaries is too large. As for Process Monitor, I used 64-bit version (it should launch automatically) and set filter to show only the process launcher.exe and PATH NOT FOUND result. The names shown on screenshot do reproduce regularly, even before password input. Apparently this happens in cycle. But the main client executable swtor.exe doesn't show anything suspicious. Here is Windows 11 Pro with EN-GB localisation on the laptop Lenovo Legion 5. At the same time, I solved the problem with no reaction on PLAY button: need to reinstall DirectX 2010 redist files. Previous DX9 version was obviously for 32 bit, now need 64 bit version. The critically important component is d3dx9_43_x64, other components may be not required, but their existence isn't harmful anyway (for some other videogames, maybe). VC++ 2017 library was already installed on my PC and its update is not necessary. I will continue the searches.
  4. Of course I will check it again (I checked already, no traces of malware). As for SWTOR path, it's really my one, I shortened it when installed first time for easier access to logs, and it worked in 32-bit version very well.
  5. I have a problem with launching SWTOR x64 client in Windows 11, and like for many other people, button PLAY does nothing. Unfortunately, launcher doesn't create any log file with error messages. Trying to get more info, I started the launcher.exe with Process Monitor by Microsoft and looked for potential error messages. Surprisingly, the monitor shows that launcher attempts to find a lot of other games and their components on my PC, some of them with Chinese hieroglyphs in a path or name. Of course, they were never installed in my PC and, as a result, the search failed. I suspect that either the launcher is spying on player (quite unlikely, I still try to trust in BioWare devs), or it has been infected with spyware during development, or it contains the third party code from EA or other company with spyware abilities. The small fragment of Process Monitor listing is attaches below. Screenshot of Process Monitor
  6. The same bug here. I gave up in the room with Skytrooper Constructor boss because beating it with permanently stacking poison was beyond my abilities. Died uncounted number of times... Thanks to this forum thread, travelling to Stronghold and re-entering the chapter returned me back to that boss without any poison, so it's doable. I ask, how this chapter should be working by initial design? At least the poison should be stopped far before the room with GEMINI Prime captain or at least immediately before begin of dialog between Scorpio and captain. This could make the chapter doable, even with a few deaths of poisoning before. But this does not happen...
