  3. I was just going off of the title You seem to be implying that these changes were made to buff lethality, but this couldnt be farther from the truth. Nothing in 2.6 is designed to buff lethality, its all to buff concealments pve dps. Whatever buffs lethality gets were just because they share some stuff that concealment uses.
  4. This is one of those things you can see across several classes, ill use marauders for example, anni vs rage. Could you use anni in pvp? Sure, but rage is typically better for pvp, and could you use rage in pvp? Sure but anni is typically better. Its no different with the operative, you can use concealment in pve, and you can use lethality in pvp, but the specs tend to be better for their own enviornment. Its the way the specs are designed, pvp favors burst damage, thats why rage and concealment are favored, you arent fighting people with milions of hp, its part of the tree design, same with a boss fight. Boss fights dont favor burst damage, so dot/backloaded dps classes tend to do better there.
  5. http://www.twitch.tv/agentphilosoraptor/b/497472380 This is another fairly large scale pvp event that took place, started with us getting up into their base, they called for reinforcements and pushed us back to ours, and we managed to push them back to the neutral area. Went on for a good hour, was quite fun.

The other major advantage is the longer your dots crit without needing reapplication on adds in a boss fight the more energy you will get back from your dots critting and returning 2 energy each. Its always worth burning a GCD on a boss fight and tossing out a CG on a group of adds. Its basically free dps and energy at the cost of 1 GCD. Add in the lingering toxins on a fight like Grob'thok if you toss CG on the 3 adds that come out the extra 9 seconds of CG is 4 ticks per add, @ a totla of 12 ticks (if theyre even alive that long) @~30% crit you can expect about 4 crits @ 2 energy back each. In this instance its a free 8 energy, and some extra dps for a point in the tree that im not sure where I would put it if it werent in its spot.
  7. Just did a quick reading of the thread and it didnt seem anyone really touched on the subject that this was even intended to buff lethality, it wasnt. This is part of the concealment buff and does more for them than it does for lethality. Alright you can go back to complaining about how much lethality sucks for pvp. (It does, thats why I play concealment in pvp and lethality in pve)

Yes, keboardninja and I have talked about this in the past lol, and I do agree, in a purly theoretical perfect scenario the orbital strike definatly helps, I didnt say not to use it, but I dont use it on single target fights. Fights with lots of ads absolutly use it, Titan 6 after each jump is a good example, theres enough time during the hiding phase that you can recoup energy. The raid group I play with puts out lots of damage, and lots of aoe damage, so I find the 4th tick ends up being wasted most of the time. Its 2 different schools of though with no real right answer, most operatives use the 2pc sniper bonus and use orbital lots. I personally dont, find what works best for you, if it works stick with it. The other major reason I dont have the 2pc sniper set bonus is because its a pvp bonus, and I hate pvp, Ill never get around to getting the bonus, which makes orbital that much less important to me.
  15. My 2 cents that i find are different from most guides that work for me. (I copied and edited this post form one i made for the scoundrel forums so you might see me refrence some scoundrel stuff) If you really want to dps and not heal dont let them know that you can heal untill you've proven yourself as a valuable dps. My main is a Lethality Operative, and at this point my raid lead wont let me heal because he dosnt want to give up the dps. I personally use one set of gear for dps and healing, running with the 2 piece pve dps, and 2 piece pve healing set, and just use the accuracy whenever I happen to swap to healing. The accuracy vs alacrity hasnt made much difference, and I personally almost never use orbital unless theres a group of ads, which I find the 2pc sniper bonus to be worthless because by the time the 4th tick comes down the ads are almost always dead anyhow, plus I like having the extra mainstat and hp from the pve armorings vs the pvp ones, which rumor has it they will eventually change anyhow, and finally i find that trying to use os on cooldown messes with energy and the fluidity of the rotation too much, TLDR; Dont tell them you can heal till they know your a good dps, eventaully use the 2+2 dps/healing bonus so you can use 1 set of gear for when you might need to heal, and finally orbital strike is overated for lethality/df ops/scoundrels, its usefull but only in certain situations.
