  1. Green = good Blue = rare (better than good) Purple = epic (better than rare) Orange = Moddable (potentialy better than everything) This stands for both Gear and Mods. Purple mods can be recieved from some difficult quests, for example the Nar Shadar bonus seris Hc quests give Purple mods. These quests are about your level so you could go do them now and upgarde your Orange gear. Basically wear whatever has the highest stats for your class/role. A purple from lvl 10 will not be as good as a green from lvl 30
  2. You can gain a very small amount of rested by logging out any where but you gain alot more by logging out in a cantina (or your ship I believe). So log out there when ever you can. I don't know for definate but I imagine there will be a cap on the amout you can earn. In the game that must not be mentioned the cap was two levels worth of rested but if they have mimic'd that in this game I couldn't say for sure.
  3. How about, CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103995 MB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131754 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428 Gfx: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102948 That would come to 486.96 before shipping etc... Are you gonna need a new copy of windows too? I think the install on your HD might ask for a re-activation when it sees the change in hardware. Edit: Changed RAM suggestion.
  4. Yeah it would scale it down but that would defeat the point of the extra cost of 1600 speed to use the 1600 you'd need to overclock that board.
  5. Also you said your buying 2 sets of RAM. So your buying the 4GB set twice to make it up to 8GB? Much cheaper to just buy an 8GB set, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428
  6. The main thing I'd point out is your RAM is 1600 speed and your motherboard is optimized for 1333. It can run 1600 OverClocked but I've heard people have had problems doing that. This next thing is maybe more of a personal taste thing, I prefer to use the AMD Graphics cards with the AMD chip set Mother Boards, The 6870 is alittle cheaper too. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150521 Other than that, what case do you have? The MB you've chosen is Micro ATX do you have space for a full ATX? They give more space to work with and are more effiecient to cool.
  7. Hold the right mouse key and move the mouse to rotate. Holding both mouse keys will make you run forward.
  8. I doubt we will ever see a true ranged tank with this kind of ability. It would be completely over powered to avoid 100% of melee damage. If a game were created where all mobs were capable ranged damage dealers then perhaps.
  9. Yeah thats right. It will cost more and more credits everytime you do it.
  10. As a Gunslinger you have the 3 skill trees in which you can invest points. You can spread your points out among the 3 trees but, arguably, the more effective thing to do is commit all points to the same tree untill you reach the top then you can invest in the other trees. A "Re-spec" is the process of resetting all the points you have spent in your skill trees so you can spend them again. re-specing healer would mean to place all your newly reset points into the tree designed for healing. As a Gunslinger you only have DPS trees so re-specing would merely change the way your character plays slightly you could never tank or heal. You can re-spec aboard the Republic fleet by talking to the appropriate vendor.
  11. 1. You will be stuck on your initial server you create the character on though you can always create new characters on different servers. 2. All servers have PVP Warzones, however only PVP servers will allow you to kill/be killed by the opposing faction when questing in the world. 3. Faster than what? Sounds like your only just starting. Just complete your quests, level up and the credits you need will find you.
  12. By "post your specs" they meant the specs of your computer. i.e. CPU, ram, graphics card. You can find out alot of your computers specs by pressing Start and typing msinfo32 into the search box in windows 7 or the run box in windows xp. Shadow's are turned off in Preferences > Graphics. Set it to low see if it makes a difference if it does try medium and see how that performs.
  13. Assuming you do have your Advanced Class You want to stay in Soretsu Form all the time for 50% increased threat. You have 2 taunting abilities, Taunt (level 16) - for single targets Threatening Scream (level 30) - for aoe taunting You 3 defensive cooldowns that I'm aware of Saber Ward (level 4) - increases melee and ranged defense by 40% Invincible (from skill tree) - reduces damage taken by 40% Endure Pain (level 28) - Increase max health by 30% You have an abilitiy called Guard which you can place on a party member which will reduce the threat they cause aswell as reducing the damage they recieve. So you can use this either on a healer to protect them or on a DPS who keeps out aggroing you. Rotation wise I can't help too much as I play a Trooper.
  14. Ok sorry If I'm gonna over simplify this for you but you made no mention of your advanced class and the fact you say you have no taunt at level 36 is worrying. You get your taunt at level 16. So I have to ask have you picked your advanced class? And if so have you learned the abilities tied to that advanced class? The Sith Warrior Tanking AC is Juggernaut, if you picked Marauder it isn't a viable tank. The AC abilities are sold by the same class trainer but are hidden on a seperate tab look at the bottom of the class trainer window.
  15. You can do by looking in the Preferences there is an option to allow "entering party story zones" or something similar, hopefully someone else can be more precise. However even when doing this the instance will belong to one player and the other player will simply be observing. The observer will then need to do it again for themselves afterwards. Meaning doing each story area twice.
  16. lol well it made me laugh. Got to line 7 before I realized the frell you were talking about.
  17. They couldn't care less about their "Buddies" only damage done to them builds threat on them. Healing also generates threat. All heal spells generate threat on every enemy in combat.
  18. My suggestions are pretty similar to the ones posted but here goes anyway On a close group where none are cc'd I recommend opening with a massive aoe like Death from Above, this will give you plenty of threat on everything then focus on what the DPS should be attacking this would be the silver level mobs. Any non-elites can be left for dps to handle. On a group with cc attack the hardest enemy a couple of times then switch to the lower ones using aoe to keep threat on everything. You and the dps should be attacking the same target or they risk taking aggro from you. First let me explain the difference between Aggro and Threat. Everyone has threat: Threat is something you build up by using abilities. Each ability aswell as causing X amount of damage/healing generates Z amount of threat. Only one person can have Aggro: You have aggro when the target is attacking you. You get Aggro by having more threat than anyone else. You will have some attacks that generate high threat, I think Rocket Punch was your best single target threat generator. As some one explained a taunt doesn't generate threat like a normal attack it simply gives you the same amount of threat as who ever has the most. If you already have aggro it does nothing. BH's have the ability Grapple that generates high threat and pulls the mob to them this can be used to bring ranged mobs away from a cc to allow for aoe. Also Line of Sight (LoS) is very helpful when possible. Just hide around a corner/behind a pillar and they will come to you. Make sure your party do the same and hold off attacking or they'll get aggro pretty quickly.
  19. Try not too look at companions as melee or ranged but as a specific class i.e. trooper, jedi knight. All companions fit into the same class structure as players. Qyzen maybe melee but he is of the Trooper class. The troopers main stat is aim. The stats arn't designed around melee vs ranged they are designed around classes, Troopers - Aim Jedi Knights - Strength etc...
  20. I thought I'd chime in and talk about the difference between Aggro and Threat as they are 2 different things. Everyone has threat: Threat is something you build up by using abilities. Each ability aswell as causing X amount of damage/healing generates Z amount of threat. Only one person can have Aggro: You have aggro when the target is attacking you. You get Aggro by having more threat than anyone else. Notes: 1. Tanks have certain abilities that generate high amount of threat in comparrison to other abilites giving them the ability to hold aggro easier. 2. When a tank taunts they are basically making their threat the same level as who ever had the most at the time. If they don't continue to attack this target and a DPS does that DPS can and will take aggro back quite quickly. 3. Healing generates Threat on all enemies in combat. 4. Abilities that reduce your threat level by a % reduce the amount of Threat you have generated on your current target.
  21. He's not typing it into a console, just the normal chat window. It's letting you type into the chat but not sending when you press Return if I'm understanding you correct. Does pressing Enter work? Is there any where in the Key Binding page within Preferences to bind the chat function to another key?
  22. There is also an option to auto target the nearest enemy when you use an ability. Its hidden somewhere in the Preferences but I can't think where exactly, sorry.
  23. I know not of any "bars" but there will be a cantina in the starting zones that you will stumble across at some point.
  24. Your product key will give you 30 days of play time starting from 20th. If you use your product key now it is supposed to add the 30 days to your play time starting from the 20th and you'll still get the early access time ontop of that. But you gain nothing from entering your product code now except the chance the something could go wrong. To be safe I'd just wait untill 19th to enter your code.
  25. That suggests you won't be able to log in without a code from 19th at 10:01pm EST. Your created characters will stay for afew days at least though I havn't seen any official confirmation of how long. I should think a couple of weeks would be safe. But thats a complete guess on my part.
