  1. It is on topic because posters like Kitru and myself do not want the original poster to be misled by your inaccurate statements about stat priorities.

If you still think alacrity is worthwhile stat for a Shadow even after several posts from various people correcting you and explaining why it isn't then go ahead and continue thinking that. It is only to your detriment. I'm sure the OP has received enough sound advice to be able to make his own judgement on whose advice is proper or not.

  2. I am not really sure why alacritty has become a sore spot other then to nit pick ,not by you but others that support is handling. I simply put up a order of stats by importance for dps. they are as follow willpower, endurance(found on gear) with dps will power was listed 1st as it should have a higher amount then endurance and those two stats are the mainstay of the gear choices for (in this case) jedi shadow, followed by power, forcepower, alacritty, crit - I listed crit as last simply because I have not seen any theory crafting on crit. I did recommend in earlier post same thread that crit should be experimented with perhaps by putting it before force power , as forcepower and alacrity support crit. the more spells you can cast usually the higher chance of a crit but on this new game I am not sure and gave my recomendations. That is all.not sure why others feel they are exempt from offering helpfull advice.

I find it really funny that you feel you are being harassed when you are simply being corrected for providing the wrong information.

It is pretty easy to see via logical thinking that Crit is superior to Alacrity and that Alacrity itself as a stat is near worthless for SHADOWS - which is what the discussion is about. Do any of us on the Shadow forums here care how much Alacrity is worth as a stat across the board? No. Especially when the forum, poster, and question are directed at Shadows.

If you even understand the class at all it should also be painfully obvious that we benefit from crit in most specs. Infiltration provides +30% crit damage for ShadowStrike and +50% crit damage for Project and Surge. Balance provides +30% crit damage for dots and FiB, and force strike previously triggered off of crits. Its like the skill tree is -telling- you that hey, we need crit.

No one replying to you has been rude or anywhere near trolling. If you are taking offense at their corrections then you really need to open up or you are going to have a terrible time working together with others as a team in any game, real life job or relationship.

  3. As someone who played 23/0/18 quite a bit previously i can assure you that Slow Time is currently far superior. The ONLY reason i would consider speccing for FiB now is the 30m range to stop caps. Other than range, Slow Time is far superior (cooldown, snare, dmg debuff, procs harnessed shadows).
  4. if i actually get a chance to hit a sorc i win

    They ARE BAD THEN LOL

try dueling a bm sorc, If they can play ur kited around forever GG

If you catch them Without their bubble they lose, and they suck.

you will never ever catch a sorc if they are good.

If you manage to get off even 5-8 k dmg that bubble will dissappear but gratz they are still 100% hp and you just blew your major dmg - lose

As full BM gear infil spec we Do NOT lack damage.

    We have ZERO gap closers.

Speed is garbage 30 second cooldown main gap closer GG,No-re FAIL. If speed Locked onto the target so lag doesnt screw you then maybe...

Are you kidding? I **** bm sorcs 1 on 1 if they are dps specced. The healers are harder to kill if you don't get enough burst. When they force speed you force speed. Use your cooldowns (resilience, force cloak, low slash, force stun, force of will) as appropriate to stick to him and interrupt the right spells (depends on situation). A good BM sorc/sage will give you a challenge but the fight (as a 1v1) is in your favor unless you're starting out of stealth and 30m away.

Scoundrel/Op open on sage/sorc = force of will and force speed away. Scoundrel/Op now has 2 options. Burn their 'force cloak' or run away.

  5. Ah! Just the sort of well-thought-out answer I was looking for. Makes total sense.

    Thank you, friend!

Edit: I'm assuming that Focused Insight DOESN'T proc from Telekinetic Throw? Because I took it assuming I could pop Force Potency, and then Telekinetic Throw for a little healing on the side. Just wondering.

TThrow does proc FI, but you have very little reason to use TT with this spec. Even doing what you suggested, you get a 4% hp heal every 1min 30s which is a 640hp heal if you have 16,000 max hp. Thats extremely minor. Any slight benefit FI might provide you is far outweighed by the benefits of Psychokinesis.

  6. What's the benefit of taking Psychokinesis over Focused Insight?

Psychokinesis benefits you way more than Focused Insight. The only thing that procs FI in this spec is the dot from Mind Crush, which you will only use when Force Strike procs, and the dot only ticks for 6 seconds, and the heal from FI only ticks if your dot crits. Psychokinesis saves you a lot of force as Double Strike and Project make up the bulk of your force expenditure in this spec.

  7. Lucky Shots gives Crit, not Accuracy.

That being said, for pvp i would prioritise Expertise > Crit = Surge > Power

Accuracy in pvp is negligible unless you like to attack tanks a lot. The stat will be forced upon you anyway until you can change out the mods for Crit/Surge ones.

  8. Do all the ilum and belsavis dailies, the daily commendations you get from them will let you buy 1 rakata earpiece or implant every 5 days, and the group quests in these dailies will give you a level 49 epic armoring + mod + enhancement, enabling you to upgrade one of your orange gear to level50 epic standard every day.

Do normal mode Battle for Ilum and False Emperor flashpoints while your gear is still weak and start doing Hardmode flashpoints once your gear has gotten fairly decent.

Also do your pvp dailys and weeklys as they will reward you with champion gear bags that have a chance of giving you Champion pvp gear which is good enough to use until you get Columi gear from Hardmode flashpoints.

  9. Good writeup, but something to highlight to readers:

The OP right about which specs are good for which fight, but to highlight, for a raider that doesn't wish to keep respeccing between fights Infiltration is the better spec as Bonetrasher and SOA are the fights that really matter. If a shadow has to go balance/infil for their raid to make the dps on annihilator/gharj/infernal council then they are never going to get bonetrasher or soa down.

edit: of course, if your guild is just pushing into hardmodes and your dps is tight on annihilator/gharj, feel free to spec balance/infil until your raid gets more gear, but definitely main Infiltration once you are working on SOA/Bonetrasher
