  1. Keep in mind that your observations are your own. Please refrain from posting your opinion and presenting it as fact. Also, you don't speak for me, so please refrain from saying things like "we the players". It would be better and more truthful instead if you were to simply represent yourself and anyone who has given you direct permission to speak for them. You are not my spokesperson.
  2. Right now, my biggest concern is game stability. With Electronic Arts publishing, I expect minimal unscheduled downtime. This month, EC servers have had three unplanned outages. (Yes, I am aware today is planned, whiteknights. Feel free to attack anyway.) That's not acceptable. You can include whatever content you like in any update you please. It can be the Best Content Of All Time As Declared By Kanye™. But it won't mean anything if no one can log in to check it out. I've re-subbed for this month, but the next payment will depend purely on your ability to keep the servers running when you say they're going to be running. I'll give you one unplanned outage this month, but any more than that is, frankly, an appalling track record for a multi-billion-dollar industry leader like EA. (Keep in mind, whiteknights, that Bioware is a wholly owned subsidiary of such.) We're over 5 years into this. Were it December 2011 or January 2012, I'd say these were just startup pains. If they occurred in January 2014, I'd chalk it up to growing pains. But we're over five years in now. It's time to start acting competently.
  3. Keep them up. Three times down like this in a month's span is completely unacceptable, even from a lesser game company. You can only coast so far on goodwill. It's past time to start treating this like a proper business.
  4. Fix your login server issues first before deciding whether or not to merge anything, please. Thank you. (By "fix" I mean "for more than two weeks".)
  5. It was weird the first time. It was mildly annoying the second. Now it's just a joke.
  6. Back in queue to login on all East Coast servers. Again. Third time this month. Why am I paying for this?
  7. Once I log in, there's no servers on either the NA or Europe lists. EDIT: Transient issue; self-correcting. Able to log in.
  8. Awesome! Let's say I take pictures of the inauguration crowd and compare them to past events - will I have a bounty put on me?
  9. Ebon Hawk welcomes all roleplayers with open arms.
  10. I wouldn't hire a known quantity. You'd be surprised how many literary diamonds are in the rough. What I would do, instead, is host a contest among the players and hire the winner. I'd rather like to give rise to another writer. The world needs more of them.
  11. I have some requests, if I may. (* = denotes that I would pay actual money for it as a cash shop item) GSI robot skins* - Specifically, the JesusBot from the story mode FP (can fit HK or even one of the cartel droids, don't care) and the little holodroid guy from the one Ziost daily that's instanced. (Can't remember the name of it. Perfect T7 skin, and all the subs can get him now, so.) GSI Speeder from geofissure daily on Ziost* - That one should be easy given Bioware's well-developed skill for reskinning mounts. Its base frame is a long-existing asset, so this really shouldn't be an implementation issue at all. Denon Exosphere TDM map - Chop it in half. Done. Then we'd have 3 TDMs and 3 Doms, and honestly, a third TDM option would be surprisingly refreshing. (I would like to state that I chose SWTOR over EvE Online due very much to its GSF component. Can't be doing too bad if you're pulling people away from the internet's biggest spaceship game.)
  12. Good. Look, I'm not your friend. You're not mine. I don't know you and you don't know me. I'm one of hundreds of thousands of customers of the conglomerate. You're one of its thousands of employees. So keep that in mind when I say "that's what should have happened the first time instead of just going back to bed when it cleared up on its own". Pretty sure it was Level3. Not much you guys could do about that. You don't control the internet. Would have been nice to hear. But again, I get the corporate environment. We both know Bioware is better than this. Getting it fixed and making sure it stays fixed is a good start toward getting back there, but like my grandfather always said: The challenge is consistency. I'm rooting for you guys. I like this game. I keep coming back for it. But one day someone's going to figure out the whole package - story, immersion, graphics and community - AND be able to keep it all up consistently. Be that company. Because WoW and LotRO both suck.
  13. ...or this might be the issue. Is this the issue? http://downdetector.com/status/level3 Because when Level3 hurts, a lot of internets hurt. Is that it?
  14. All right. I get that we're not going to get a great deal of useful information or details. I understand the corporate environment. So let me just say, speaking purely for myself, that if this is an issue that can be repaired with a rollback of the login server please do so. If it isn't, either go back to the hosting you had or pay off the North Koreans already so we can get back to playing please. Thank you.
  15. ...so, is anyone up for Tusken-themed ERP while we wait? I need my fix, dammit. :-(
  16. Look, man, if you don't wanna talk then don't. Or do. Whichever. I ain't your parole officer, probably.
  17. EvE does do a good job, but to be fair they've only got the one game to maintain anymore and they've been at it for, what, 13, 14 years now? Let's find a better example here. The ONLY game I can think of that would be as bad at keeping the lights on is Star Trek Online, and that's a Perfect World property. (Cryptic is wholly owned by 'em, much like Bioware is by EA.) Do we REALLY want that to be our standard here? I don't. Craptic is called such for a reason. They're awful and clearly don't care. But I expected more from Bioware. I grew up on their games. I don't feel like the answer is for the consumer to lower their standards. I feel like the answer is for the corp taking our cash to improve theirs. What do you think? (Also, can you spare me 10 million ISK to get a mining permit? CODE blew up my Venture. I'm a newbie! I swear!)
  18. No. Nononononononono. If it were an INTERMITTENT thing? Then sure. I'd agree with you. But this kind of garbage has been going on at least during the four years I've been here, and likely longer if even older social media discussions are accurate. EA/Bioware has become so bad at maintenance that it's a damn TROPE. I don't know about you and I can't speak for anyone but myself, but every time a maintenance notice pops up in the launcher I sit there and ask myself "what the hell are they gonna break THIS time?". At this point it's a lot like being in a relationship with a charming screwup. You want to love 'em. You do. But how much crap can one take before calling it quits? Does anyone want to see that? I don't. I like this charming screwup. It needs to live up to its multibillion-dollar corporate potential. But it's not.
  19. Ongoing problem that apparently never got solved.
  20. "Appears to have cleared up"?! So, let me get this straight. You didn't find the problem the first time. And then you lot apparently... what, just gave up and went back to bed? Please, please, PLEASE start treating this like a ********* business and not like some kind of Kickstarter project that's running into easily-avoided bumps due to a painful lack of experience. EA/BIOWARE IS A MULTIBILLION-DOLLAR CORPORATION. When the HELL are you people gonna act like it?!
  21. Just started again. Come on, EA/Bioware. Quit relying on the little white knights you have on social media to shield you from your PATHETIC performance in keeping the game up as of late. I don't know what your problem is, and I don't *********** care. If I wanted a game this broken and spammy I'd play Cryptic games. FIX. IT. And don't stop with just a bandaid this time. Find the problem. Execute the problem. Do not let the problem return. You're a huge multinational corporation, EA/Bioware. It's time to *********** act like it.
