  1. 8 competitive matches held on DM today 2/3/18: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqVvrb9TmaY&list=PL-TcFCBQ7cTSuyvanyvwpIWauS0bJQ1aZ
  2. A few more interesting matches: A close SRW Scrim on Darth Malgus - https://youtu.be/fFp_nn11oPM A couple close SRW Scrims on Star Forge. https://youtu.be/yG4tt2M3TGE https://youtu.be/psTAlcgTGwI Here's one where we responded to a call for help from some poor Satele Shan Imps who were getting curbstomped. https://youtu.be/lyri9gIYn1o And here are some very close matches, for your viewing pleasure: https://youtu.be/IeWnXrJuPs0 https://youtu.be/VUdbc2MX18g
  3. When's the next stream? It's been a while.
  4. fair warning: i looked at some of the responses to the 2017 thread and i don't think i'll ever be able to recover those brain cells i lost
  5. Hi, who are you writing to? The devs don't read this forum (at least not most of the threads), but the community does. And while we're here, let me direct you to another useful resource. This is the GSF Community Discord. https://discord.gg/wSyGSp It's a good place to find some friends to group up with. There are many skilled pilots there who would be willing to help you if you are getting stomped and need a hand. I have toons on all of the English servers and would be happy to group with you or work with you to grow in your skill as a GSF pilot. I understand that you're frustrated with getting stomped. I've been there. I agree that those games are no fun (whether I'm doing the stomping or someone else is stomping me). But your proposed solution will never be implemented. So, rather than expect the devs to do something to "restore" parity (there was never real, consistent parity - and there never will be), you should take action yourself. Make some friends. This is an MMO. Fly with others. Hit us up in the discord. Check out players' videos (like mine) and Despon's GSF School on Youtube. Learn more about the game, and group up. These are the ways you're going to create a more enjoyable playing experience for yourself, not some futile hope that the devs will do anything. Sorry if this was harsh, but it's reality. PS - Drinking beer helps too. Looks like you've got that covered.
  6. Double Premades face off on Darth Malgus - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlMHZ51YNzg&list=PL-TcFCBQ7cTRAOxMBuWKlq4Ljk_0Rvll9 Had trouble balancing. Match 6 was the best! (Uploading in progress).
  7. Oh, no, that was an additional link. But after watching it again, it doesn't really show the superiority of the T2G as the links before it did, since I think I only switched to my protorps once. (I had some more opportunities, which I failed to utilize).
  8. I haven't noticed much of a difference in terms of distance, but definitely in time. You may be right about the capture "depth" being increased. In any case, it really helps to have two capping each node.
  9. Thank you for this information, especially the information about length of capture time by a single player.
  10. That's my argument*, and here's some evidence: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-TcFCBQ7cTRmwKl0H2IjSzvohM-kaGjh Here's Close Shave's guide on the ship (and yes, he beat me to seeing how good this ship is): https://shadowlandsreconnaissancewing.enjin.com/forum/m/34025565/viewthread/31261741-t2g-cometbreakerdust-maker *Let's qualify my argument a bit: I think the T1G will still reign in many instances, especially when you have the support of a team. However, the T2G is a very strong ship, and especially shines against Strike Fighters and in soloqueue situations where you need to provide your own peels. I think in these instances, it is probably better than the T1G.
  11. Unlike Verain, I don't much enjoy roflstomps (going either way), unless I'm roflstomping Verain. Then I enjoy it. Did you know that you can make your own premade? It's like build-a-bear, except it's build-a-premade. This may help. https://discord.gg/xAmkEV
  12. Competitive SRW Scrimmages - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbClQWquSaA&list=PL-TcFCBQ7cTR5N39StqbBjLnyBGw6qNqd Very Competitive SRW Double Premade vs. Self-Inflicted & Drakolich Double Premade - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13mO-MRiEkg&list=PL-TcFCBQ7cTSSK5Eb9p0oKeBW9VLmYvxI ^^^ numbers 3 and 4 are great matches!
  13. One against Self Inflicted on Star Forge - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25ZXUjoE-RE Three matches against Tsuki on Satele Shan - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpriFL70Y7Y&list=PL-TcFCBQ7cTSKQMRmSM-JNgfVRQRJflxv
  14. There are 3 spawn points on the Team Deathmatch maps. You can choose which one you'd like to begin at by clicking on the spawn point icon. Don't use the one they're camping on.
  15. Here are some more competitive matches from today with SRW, Drakolich, and some locals on Darth Malgus forming premades on opposite factions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZM9uwa-JHg&list=PL-TcFCBQ7cTTcR6oMdFEB7jH2rpPVtH6M
  16. I think this is a good point. If you've watched a few of my recent videos, sometimes I clumsily clip a satellite or run into something and I still manage to survive in my tanky strike. It's nice for noobish "aces" like me to be able to do that. It's an exceptionally forgiving chassis, and, as Drako pointed out, Strikes also have the benefit of an amazing amount of build flexibility.
  17. When I fly on Satele, I almost always fly imp for this reason. My pub toon on that server has been sadly neglected.
  18. Hmm, I guess, for the sake of argument, I will designate myself as an "ace". I used to fly gunships all the time (TDM) and bombers all the time (DOM). I would fly scouts sometimes. Maybe this disqualifies me from the conversation, since I flew more than one ship class? All that has really changed is that I no longer fly the T1B (Rampart/Razorwire) in Domination. Rarely, I'll fly a T2B (Warcarrier/Legion) in TDM. But I continue to fly gunship (T1G) all the time as my primary in TDM, but now I typically fly a strike fighter (T1F) in DOM. So the difference for me post-5.5: I no longer fly bomber in Domination, instead, I fly a Strike Fighter. It seems that the problem is I'm actually flying a Strike Fighter now? I would think we should be glad that an entire class of ship is no longer useless. I don't think Strikes are OP; in TDM a gunship is equal or better under most circumstances (though sometimes I will pull out my T2F for TDM). Of course, now an ace can carry in a Strike (rather than only being able to carry in a gunship). I guess I just don't see the problem in terms of ship type. I think we have a much better game now than we used to. The biggest problem for me is that the server merge means we have a ton of inexperienced/uncaring pilots clogging up the queue, whereas before the merge it seemed we had more talented pilots who actually cared about the outcome in each game. Don't get me wrong, though - I'm glad for the increased number of pops. I just wish there were more skilled players to queue with and against.
  19. This guide is old and outdated. While there is still some good advice here, check out SRW's ship guides post 5.5 -- it's the age of the Strike Fighter! https://shadowlandsreconnaissancewing.enjin.com/forum/m/34025565/viewforum/8801272
  20. I'm a relative newcomer to GSF and I eventually learned the terminology. It's not all that hard when you discuss the ships a lot, and it's more convenient/quicker to use the number designation rather than BOTH imp & pub names. T1F - starguard/rycer T2F - pike/quell T3F - clarion/imperium T1S - novadive/blackbolt T2S - flashfire/sting T3S - spearpoint/bloodmark T1G - quarrel/mangler T2G - comet breaker/dustmaker T3G - condor/jurgoran T1B - rampart/razorwire T2B - warcarrier/legion T3B - sledgehammer/decimus
  21. Thanks! Let me know if you want to fly together sometime. I'm not that hard to find.
  22. I wanted to direct your attention to these recordings of a number of competitive matches held on the Darth Malgus server on 1/6/18. The idea was to get 8v8s of all very skilled pilots, and we got some good matches. Enjoy watching! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvOJJJmzhd8&list=PL-TcFCBQ7cTR52V4DaPwQozBp3BU9zgBh
  23. And now that I have more close matches (3 just last night), here's a close match playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viQFDYMTh5A&list=PL-TcFCBQ7cTQr9-yZ3JUbzuWfjpWkyjV8
