  1. I thought they hung out in someone's private Discord nowadays and ignored the forum.
  2. Yes, please. Just poked my head into 7.0 and already managed to mess up one character by picking the wrong secondary. Now you could argue that's my own fault and nobody owes me a free do-over, but I'm amazed that I can't even pay for a do-over. Do you now want me to buy coins or something?!
  3. While I get that they aren't going to create separate class stories anymore, it would be nice to get more class specific dialogue within the framework of the single story.
  4. Thank you thank you thank you for making this point. Everywhere I go I seem to read that Chiss make the best Agents ... because reasons and nobody stops to think that the Agent is a spy. A large number of your missions, especially the early ones, involve going undercover and pretending you are nothing to do with the Empire. Beats me how so many people think you can plausibly do that as the blue skinned, red eyed race known across the galaxy as Imperial allies.
  5. I had this problem. Filed a support ticket in-game and they advanced my character directly to the boss fight, skipping the conversation.
  6. So I put a ticket in and they advanced me to the next stage of the mission, no questions asked. If the OP is still stuck or anyone else his hit this bug, you might want to do the same. Thumbs up from me for customer support though.
  7. I just ran into this exact same issue. Tried leaving the phase and returning, even reset the mission and played through everything again up to this point, but no dice; it still hangs at the exact same point talking to ARIES in his base. I was not spacebaring through anything as I wanted to see the cutscenes. Doesn't seem to be a universal problem though because I watched my girlfriend play through the exact same mission a couple of days ago without problems. OP, did you ever solve this? Does anyone else know how to fix it or is my character hosed now?
  8. Oldest character created: male Jedi Guardian based on the same all round good guy who tends to be my first character in all RPGs. Favourite character: female Jedi Sage because despite the "space valium" complaints I love the voice acting and find it highly appropriate for my "Jedi's Jedi". Favourite outfitted character: female Sith Assassin because shiny black ...
  9. Really wanted to choose the ending where you give the Codex to Imperial Intelligence and they use it to blackmail the Sith into letting them continue their operations without interference, but apparently this one was removed before launch.
  10. Congrats! But yes, I'm inclined to agree with you; I don't think I'll be throwing myself into group finder any time soon. You're also right about having someone there who you know helping a lot. I don't think I'd have been brave enough to try this truly solo, to be honest, but fortunately my girlfriend didn't take too much persuading.
  11. While I certainly don't object to any feedback that might help me get better at the game, I definitely started this thread to hear about how other normally solo players are handling the "incentive" we've been given to try group stuff, rather than to have anyone critique my performance. Did you manage it in the end? Just curious.
  12. Update We got very lucky on our 2nd two attempts, getting Hammer Station both times. First time we actually had a healer (shock! horror!) making for a pretty easy run. Second time was 3 x DPS and 1 x tank. I don't see us becoming regular group players based on this, but hey we managed and should get Darth Hexid now. I also got inspired to try out tanking for the first time, so there's that. Hope the rest of you guys and girls in this thread who haven't gotten the achievement for Hexid yet have managed to.
  13. They might also be people who have never done those FPs before, and are in there for the first time in the hope of getting Darth Hexid. Normally solo players may not be aware of "spacebar etiquette" or might just not care since it could be their one and only chance to see those cutscenes.
  14. I am not a psychologist, so perhaps I was not using strictly accurate terminology. Regardless though, people of all types play this game, including some who find interacting with strangers to stressful and confronting and also those who simply prefer to use the game for their alone time or do not enjoy grouping for whatever other reason. The bar is set low enough on the achievement for Darth Hexid though that I can imagine many of these people being tempted to give it a try in the hope of getting the new shiny. With this thread I was really just trying to reach out to those people and find out what experiences had been like. If you're the kind of person who groups regularly and for whom one failed FP is nothing then yes it probably seems strange to you that people would worry about it, but I did try to gently point out in my OP that you're not really the target audience for this thread.
  15. Luke should have been on Tython. There, I said it; we all know where the first Jedi Temple really was. No Porgs on Tython.
  16. Update: We decided to try again. Got Mandalorian Raiders with 2 tanks (1 being me this time) and 2 DPS, still no healer. Wiped on the first boss and the other two players left. We got out 1 healer companion and 1 DPS companion, and finished the FP by ourselves with no more deaths. So much for being social, but hey we are 1/3 of the way to Darth Hexid now.
  17. The devs are aware, but haven't commented on it for a while ...
  18. That's interesting. I actually had no idea that Flashpoints were level gated, thought that everyone was just bolstered up regardless. Maybe we should have tried this with lowbies instead of our level 70 "best" characters who we thought would have the easiest time of it ...
  19. I think they did it to tie in with the server merge, to try and get people mixing with folks from the other servers via the group finder, in the hope they would make some new friends. Just so happens that the bar is set low enough that it also appears tempting to normally solo players like me who start thinking "three flashpoints, how hard can it be?" and then get brought down to earth with a bump.
  20. It's a way of making "creative" use of in-game animations to mock defeated enemies in a vulgar fashion. Not sure if it's a thing in SWTOR though because I don't think there is a crouching emote, or is there?
  21. So you'd say PvP was pretty painless, huh? Interesting. I guess our opinion of PvP has been colored by another MMO we play where shouting, mockery (from your own side as well as the enemy) of less skilled players, and teabagging are rife. Is teabagging even a thing in this game?
  22. Fair point. I guess we just thought it would be nice to have, and a case that you can never have too many, especially for flavor when you have a lot of alts. We recently managed to get HK-51 at last (thank you server merge for there being more people around digging for the components) and he seems cool.
  23. So we're about half way through the qualifying period to get Darth Hexid, and I was wondering what the experience of other solo players has been? Have you grouped up in order to try and get the new companion? If so, how was it? My girlfriend and I have never grouped with anyone but each other in this game before, but this weekend we gritted our teeth and fired up the group finder. Got False Emperor with 4 x DPS, no tank or heals, and gave up after limping our way past HK-47 with multiple wipes. One guy quit, and I think the rest of us realised that Malgus was going to tear us a new one. So ended our foray into group play. We haven't dared attempt the PvP route so far. How has it been for others? Was our experience par for the course, or were we just unlucky? Again I'm interested in hearing about the experiences of other players who do not normally do Flashpoints or Warzones but decided to put themselves out there because of the bonus companion on offer. If you regularly do this content, and just want to come here to point and laugh at the noobs and the introverts, please keep it to yourself. Thanks. 24. Back in the day (I wasn't here then) didn't the original class companions have fixed combat roles? They probably couldn't allow your only healer to up and leave because you were mean to him one too many times. Totally agree that we need more meaningful choices going forward though!
  25. Why would they do this? The whole point of CC is that people spend RL money to get them, through buying them directly and/or maintaining a sub.
