I've seen a lot of reviews and complaints about Grand chance cubes since they where released, some justified, and some just rants by trolls, I will agree that they have a far to high chance to drop in place of other items, (I believe that the number was around 60% last time I checked), and this has caused the problem that they tend to wipe any chance of getting the items that BW has been advertising and telling the community about.
However, and this is my main point, I believe that BW has come up with a solution to a problem most of you have not even considered (unless I missed a post and this turns out to be pointless), I was on the GTN yesterday just doing what I always do, buying, selling, and a little underhanded trading, and while I was browsing some rare armors the thought hit me "what happens when there's no more of this armor" I mean its bound to happen, slowly but it will happen, as the Cartel packs and the spare armor are sold and bound to other players these rare items will once and for all die off and only exist to the lucky players that got them, Oh sure there may be a a set or weapon that pops up every once in a while, but sooner or later they will be gone, for good.
And here is where you might guess that the Chance cubes come in, they (as said in the description) have a chance to give you ANY item that was ever released in the Cartel market, now the chance of getting what you might want is very, very low, but still the chance is there and its bound to happen to someone who then might sell it on the GTN, and thus keep the item alive with out it losing its rarity.
I see three good solution to the current problem, One, they lower the drop rate of the chance cubes to a rate that allows the buyer to not only get the Cubes but also the items they bought the pack for. Two, they remove the Chance cubes from the CC packs, but they add a CC pack that is just Chance cubes, thus allowing a person to take that risk of getting a very rare item with out destroying there chances on the original CC pack. and last but not least number Three, a combination of the two where we have a lower chance to get Cubes on the original pack and also add a CC pack for only Chance cubes.
