  1. Hey guys, I've been away from this game for a LOOOONG time and now I'd like to jump back on and try to get more active so I can game with a good friend who has started playing again as well. I have a decent start on my characters, being levels 28 or so and 59, but I am completely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff that I had set up that I do not remember how to sort through and relearn how to use. That said, I was wondering what kinds of tips I could get as far as getting my characters' organized, in particular the quickbars and things (since I have no idea what I'm doing as far as all that goes). I'm also trying to slowly figure out where I am in terms of questing, and getting my gear together, as well as looking at maybe redoing my character's talent/skill trees or whatever too (and may be looking for advice there as well) I feel like the ultimate noob again. Anyway, any advice you can get me on getting back in the swing of things would be immensely helpful. I appreciate it!
  2. So I tried to do the Boarding Party Flashpoint on my own on hard. BIG MISTAKE. I'm not yet a level 65 so that was kind of an unexpected problem. The thing that is annoying now, though, is that I tried to reset the Flashpoint to do it on a difficulty more appropriate for my character, but the game won't let me do it. It keeps saying I need to either do a mission that's the right level, or I need to reset the flashpoint. I've reset it twice, abandoned the whole quest, picked the quest back up again, and then tried to reset it when that wasn't enough, only to have it not work on me and give me the same message. What gives? I hate missing story content like that, so I really don't want to have to just skip it. That would suck. Any advice or help on this problem?
  3. Armor needs to be better too. I like a ton of the older sets but you have to fork out upwards of 1 or 2 million for a complete set, depending on what it is.
  4. I wasn't sure where would be the best place to ask this but where all can I get shaders from? I know they can be crafted, probably bought on the GTN and even dropped randomly (yes? no?) but are there other sources for them? Some in-game vendors other than random from the Cartel Market? And is there a straight black-on-black shader?
  5. Thanks for that advice. I would like a few of the terms explained to me, though - I know adds and cc and stuff but I keep getting caught by terms I'm still unfamiliar with.
  6. So I have run into the Heroic missions in my play through of the story. I'm level 20 or something like that, and I'm wondering if that's the kind of thing I will need to find a group to do, or whether those can be soloed at the right level? Another thing I'm looking for is advice for doing the group stuff. I'm not especially familiar with MMO group activities so any help on how to be a good teammate will be really helpful to me.
  7. So I was cruising through the interface the other day and I came across the collections page that shows all the cool armor that can be bought in the Cartel Market or whatever. I noticed that a lot of the armor sets are obviously not in the market anymore, and I'm wondering if there's a better way to get those other than just grabbing random armor crates or even the random junk crates (since the armor ones have mysteriously disappeared). Any tips? Should I just jump on the galactic market and hope I can save up enough credits to finally buy a belt or something?
  8. Thanks everyone who has replied to this. I appreciate the help and I look forward to getting more into this game as time goes on.
  9. So I just got started on this game and i got through the whole Korriban first planet thing and now I'm realizing that there is a ton of stuff in this game that I just have no idea how to do or what to even make of it. I am pretty sure I understand some of the stuff as far as character equipment, companion equipment, most of the abilities and so on, but the other stuff like crafting, companion missions, etc. is so far a little overwhelming. Any advice on how to make a good start in this game, or guides on how to get on my feet as well as possible? Thanks!
  10. Thanks for that advice. I'll look into all that.
  11. Hey everyone, I'm a new player with a little MMO experience and I wanted to see if I can get some advice for how to build my Sith Inquisitor. I think I would like to go the DPS Sorcerer route but I don't know how best to go about putting a good build together for that. Anyone have any advice? Also, any other advice on how to generally get more out of the game would be greatly appreciated.
