  1. Hi everyone. I just wrote up an article talking about the current state of the SWTOR community, its future, and what you can do to help it thrive. I'd love some feedback and I hope you all take a couple minutes to give it a read. Thanks everyone! http://accomp.me/swtor/the-swtor-community-you/

  3. Hi all. I wanted to put some feelers out there to gauge the level of interest in a Republic Ops Progression team. I suppose I should provide a bit of background to give you an idea of what I had in mind. Prior to the F2P transition, I was GM of a guild called <The Tantalus> on The Jekk'Jekk Tarr. We were an 8-man guild with about 10 people in the guild, total. We simply loved raiding and did pretty dang well - achieving a world top 5 kill and multiple top 10 kills in HM Denova. After clearing Denova, we decided as a guild to retire from the game, as many did. Well, I'm back playing the game and I have an itch to raid again. So if you consider yourself a skilled player, are available to raid Tues/Wed/Thu (Should only need Tues), and have thick skin - Please express your interest here, in-game, or via Twitter (@Accomp). Thanks guys - Hopefully we can get a team together and see what we can do.
  4. Hi everyone. With the launch of the F2P model, I have decided to reincarnate <The Tantalus>, a Republic progression raiding guild from The Jekk'Jekk Tarr. However, this time around - I would like the guild to have a stronger focus on the community. As some of you may have seen, I have done a couple Cartel giveaways over the last few days - giving around 30 Crime Lord's Packs to community members of The Harbinger. These types of events are something that help build the community and will ultimately sustain population and keep new players interested, while rewarding veteran players. The main goal of this guild is to help build the community. While still in its early stages of development, <The Tantalus> will have 3x ranks: PvE Veteran, PvP Veteran, and Social. These should be pretty self-explanatory. I am opening the guild up to both veteran players and new players alike. Veteran players will be held to a higher responsibility to know their class and game mechanics, being able to answer questions and point new players in the right direction, as well as bring their A-game during guild events. This will include premade warzones and operation progression. Veteran players should be of the min/max mindset. So if you're interested in joining up, helping build the guild and community, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Your friends and family are welcome to join, with a strict "No a-hole" policy. Be respectful and enjoy the hell out of the game and the people you play with. If interested, get in touch with Accomp in-game or post here. Thanks all.
  5. Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I encourage more people to do similar events as well!
  6. Giveaway is complete. Thank you to all those who attended!

  8. Today I will be streaming another Cartel giveaway at 2pm EST. SImply join in on my stream and follow me to qualify to win items. I will be giving away 15 Crime Lord's Cartel Packs worth of items, including a couple packs themselves! Be sure to stop in, say hello, and simply participate in the community. If i give you something you don't need, spread the love and give it to someone who does need it . I will be giving items away on The Harbinger, Republic side - so make sure you roll a character there beforehand and come hang out! The whole idea here is to build the community, help newer players enjoy the game, and reward veteran players for sticking around. I'm just an ordinary guy who has a passion for the community. So any help you can provide is much appreciated. www.twitch.tv/accomp Thanks all.

  18. www.TrooperCommando.com Hi everyone - I wanted to take a moment to officially announce Trooper Commando to the community. I'm Accomp, a Republic Trooper... Commando... on The Jekk'Jekk Tarr server and I created this site as a means of educating the community on various end game encounters. The site is still very much a work in progress; However, I believe you'll find some really useful content inside - I hope you enjoy! Current Features Extensive written guides for each operation boss on each difficulty Videos of each encounter on each difficulty to compliment the written guides A handful of class guides (work in progress) Forums (Need some love - will grow with the community) Live streams of raids from a server first progression guild 1-on-1 feedback and assistance for any questions you may have about SWTOR. If I don't know the answer, I will find it for you. Overall potential to take part in a community that loves to help anyone from the hardcore theorycrafter to the casual normal mode player. Thanks everyone - I hope you enjoy the site and please make sure you sign up and actively participate. I'm amazed at the feedback I've gotten so far and would love to hear your recommendations of what you feel works and what you'd like to see changed/added!
  19. Hi all - just a quick update. I've added forums to the site, as well as tweaked the Soa strat to be a bit more accurate, post-1.2. http://troopercommando.com/
  20. It's actually more beneficial to swap between the left and right. We blow all cooldowns on the right, swap to the left and the two people solving immediately go back to solving the right, as the right provides a debuff on the buff that increases damage taken. It's beneficial to have two Commandos up top, as they can knock back the droids, rather than needing to kill them all. This decreases the time it takes to solve each puzzle, ultimately increasing the amount of damage done prior to the enrage timer. Please feel free to check out this guide, along with the videos of our strategy: http://troopercommando.com/2012/01/19/encounter-g4-b3-heavy-fabricator/
  21. Event: Live stream has begun broadcasting - We will be beginning Nightmare Soa attempts in about 30 minutes, starting at 6:30pm PST. I have embedded the stream, along with a chat feature on the site. Feel free to pop in an say hello! http://www.troopercommando.com
  22. Negative Nancy is negative. But yeah, sorry to hear about that one. We just stick with group loot and it works just as well. Just be open about communication and what people need and group loot should be sufficient until Bioware works in a fix.
  23. To an extent. Playing the DPS role in a raid environment isn't only limited to DPS. You, as a player, are a raid utility and anything you can do to make it easier on the healers and tanks, you should be doing. For instance, having Full Auto slow the target on the Bonethrasher fight reduces the change the target will reach Bonethrasher, ultimately eliminating the chance it is consumed, thus causing an enrage. Or even an add such as the adds that spawn for the pylons. Snaring the adds increases the amount of time it takes for the add to reach the tank, reducing the damage taken, reducing the amount of heals necessary to output. Another instance - there are a various encounters which spawn adds (Karagga and Foreman Crusher to name a couple in the current content). When these adds spawn, it's very possible the healers will end up with immediate aggro due to HoT's and whatnot. There is no reason the Commando should not be jumping in and knocking back the adds to provide the tanks another few seconds to gain aggro without the adds hammering away on the healers. Each class has their own role they perform in the raid, but it separates the quality players who act as a utility and perform outside of their roles that will make the difference in being successful. Maybe not in the current content, as it's not entirely difficult, but the concept behind it remains true.
  24. I would recommend the following for a strict PvE DPS build: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#800McZMIkrordRkfzZc.1
  25. Here you go, sir. http://troopercommando.com/2012/01/19/encounter-foreman-crusher/
