imo commando/merc is easiest to play in pve as dps for now. simple rotation, quite mobile, got some defensive stuff. and good looks!

gearing isint really that hard right now pretty much u should be fine if u go with what pvp vendors got to offer. u might consider lowering your accuracy to 105% since most ppl would probably be @ 5%defense. crit lately was considered better stat than power (3 years ago it was other way around), but lately it was again nerfed? so i guess u have to read some hardcore guides. oh and of course play godlike sorcerer/sage.

just buy green ones from vendor for data crystals, 2 comms each armoring/mod/ench/hilt/barrel. u dont need anything better. at 65 ull get better gear for comms again and gradually improve it by doing ops etc.

unlocking Nar Shadda stronghold for new player is quite expensive especially if u want it unlocked in 100%. he can just make 2 strongholds, one in coruscant and one in DK... in the end its good to have em all unlocked anyway.

shadow for solo lvling will be good since u can skip mobs in stealth mode and just do yummy quests. but myself i never was a fan of shadow

honestly u dont really need to buy any decorations at the beginning at all since u get plenty for free and some wall decorations for finishing flashpoints and ops.

honeslty i loved pretty much all class stories, so hell yeah play it or even start it from the beginning since its double exp event now, and exp was faster as it was without the event than it used to be anyway. right now u dont have to do anything but class mission to hit 5x lvl. myself i like SI and SW more than agent, but i must admit that agent story is best written - its just i am not that into the subject as i was in case of SW and SI

game is way easier now(yea i know it was easy back then too.) u can farm plenty of money just by doing heroics u got new KOTFE story which is actually very fun, but sadly its another prelude to farming - but in the end its mmo right? u get plenty of new companions, along with the ones u can get from cartel market packs like Akk dog, or droid probe etc. more lightsaber crystals, including 3 coloured ones... prices on some items at least on my server are higher than they used to, but i think its people trying to push the market too hard and on other servers its same old same old. well there are new ops and world bosses, new planet like ziost with quite unusual dailys - though i like em pvp balance is lame as it was, but still if u liked it - u will like it now as well. and level sync which makes u unable to solo WB anymore, but u get good rewards from low lvl quests and heroics as they were your (65)lvl. i suppose these are major ones in short version

perhaps try fullscreen windowed mode or just force shut down on swtor.exe through ctrl+alt+delete instead doing regular exit, thats best i can come up as for now. try update'ing your software as well, u never know, maybe it will help. oh and set both launcher.exe and swtor.exe to run as administrator

never had issue like that, but i find exiting game horrible too. i mean it takes ages for my PC to turn swtor off lol. so maybe its not the same issuse as yours, but there is definetley something wrong with exit
