  1. I saw the coolest for-fun armor, probably adaptive because I previewed it and usually browse adaptive. I can't find it again or even a picture. It was was largely a form-fitting fit not covered with much plating etc. at all. All-black by default, it had a vintage-y, smooth, cylindrical cannister as a backpack, scuba-like yet sort of horizontal. And there was something like a pest exterminator's or slimline flamethrower holstered high with the tank/cannister. Obviously not on the GTN often. Any idea? Thanks for your time !
  2. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration. I never did the tutorial mission. If it's adviseable I suppose I could make an alt and acquire the mission... Otherwise I'm having a Sarlacc of a time figuring out what objects do what at the modification station. Is there a guide anywhere? Like: What are the different Augmentation Kit Mark-Numbers for? It seems to be more than just higher MK numbers are better or something. What modification objects go to what weapons or armor? I can place a MK-10 Augmentation Kit on Lightsabers or Armor, but nothing I buy from a LvL 60 Mod Vendor says it's compatible. I've tried one of each "shape" -- the things that look like Chex cereal, the things that look like fat bracelets, tried the plate-looking things on armor... Each weapon or armor looks like it opens up on the table and accepts a kit and a mod part and a color. I can get colors to work and Augmentation Kits (with their ambiguous MK-# ratings) to attach, but no mods as of yet. A thousand thankyou's, Divmoni Slabrack
  3. Thanks... Of course my understandable confusion was: I was granted a companion named Doc. I did not know there was some class called Doc. So when I saw it said "Doc's Shotgun" I thought it was for him. When it said requires Doc, I thought it meant him, just like a T7 appearance customization requires T7 droid comp. Someone has to admit this is confusing. I can't believe I'm the only person to wonder this, but to get the companion named Doc and to get this drop probably doesn't happen to everybody. Thanks again.
  4. Sorry, the edit function said it would ,let me change the title but it's showing the old one. And I cannot delete the message... It's supposed to read: Companion doesn't have the skill for a Weapon made for him? Here's what I don't understand: Companions have different weapons skills than me. I cannot use their weapons and they can't use mine (unless they are the same class or whatever). I can't use a laser rifle, but I buy them for my droid, etc. I get this weapon called "Doc's (model #) Shotgun". It Requires Doc and Requires Scattergun. Well, I didn't worry I don't have Scattergun, I don't have skills for light saber staff or laser rifle, either, but I get them for companions that do. I go to give the gun to Doc and he only has skills for Pocket Pistol. Can't equip the gun made for him because it's Scattergun. Someone tells me matter of fact it's because I'm the wrong class... that makes no sense. I didn't even know different classes got the same comps, but even if they do, whoever programmed that didn't seem to know how their own video game worked. *I am not supposed to need the skill, myself, that my companion needs for the gun that's made for him* Thanks for hearing me bewilder. (It's like no one even understood my point when I brought it up in chat)
  5. Thanks. Back when I was playing a male sith years and years ago I could swear I was romancing some non-sith female and somehow lost her. I can't remember the details. I have a Jedi male Consullar but... now that I'm really really enjoying playing a Knight more than anything else, I'm not wanting to romance because, well, I'm actually a hetero male person in RL but I took over the Knight I created for my wife who gave up soon. I've already re-lived so much mission content I really don't want to start over and, well, I kind of like watching her run around and a couple outfits I got her O.O I like Doc, he reminds me of a cross of Po and Bruce Campbell. Hopefully I can keep him i.e. not lose him if I don't romance him. Thanks. I've learned more about the comp situations, this gave me a godd point of departure.
  6. I am asking in New Player Help because I play occasionally but have a sort of perma-noob syndrome from time away. My Knight got this companion "Doc". I'd never seen a temporary companion except I think years ago when they could hate you. I see he's "romanceable" for females... but is he temporary (esp. if I don't do the romance)? The main mystery is -- I notice I cannot change his outfit like I can other humanoid comps. It was weird because his Medium Armor is normal head, chest, etc. in the typical spots. But you attempt to remove or change an article and "You Cannot Alter This Companion's Armor". Yet I can turn Mira into a half-naked cyborg. I wonder why this is and if it is associated with any other limitations? He likes luxury gifts so I buttered him up to lvl 10 influence hoping to crew skill and mission with him for more than just the next mission I know he's for. Thanks for any insight. Can't find anything about this.
  7. Alright thanks everyone... You've helped a lot. I really can't believe there isn't a guild with the name I'm wanting.
  8. Thanks in advance for your help. Forming a guild: 1) I know where the guild registrar is and I know I need 4 joiners. I know you invite ppl to a guild via " /invite (character) " But I got a little confused because how can you invite to a guild that's not made yet? Still, is that how you get the joiners? It won't accidentally invite them to the big guild I'm in for now? You type " /ginvite (so-and-so) " and it will invite them to the guild name you have sitting in the Guild Name field? 2) Also, do I need to leave my current, big guild first? You see, I have no way of knowing when I /ginvite someone if they are seeing my new name or the name of the big guild I already joined. I can't even be sure which guild I'm inviting them to. Like I say, I watched the swtourista video 3 times and it doesn't totally specify these particulars and I have never tried this before. I've actually played a month at a time several times over the years and have a couple 40-something characters but never addressed these things before, lol. I just have a really, really fun name for a new guild that's worth probably not having as high an XP bonus at first...
  9. This game is amazing and has influenced me to support it quite a bit. In the first month I bought the $5 Digital pack (with rl-dollar$), then subscribed, then bought $5 in CC, then bought my birthday gift: $40 US worth of CC. Then I noticed a couple of things threatening to swat my cash hand away, a little insulted. First, I used CC to buy a second alternate outfit slot, and outfits. Only when I went to use one of the alternate slots I started moving over aromor from my inventory & noticed I had to spend more credits just to "buy the changes" -- for slots and armor I just already purchased at exorbitant prices! That is ugly. Buy the changes? I just did, twice. The new armor and the new slots. Will you start charging me every time I change my own clothes? Getting back to the (similar) topic: unlocking your own ship at your already triple-unlockd pad at your expensive stronghold: THEN I find out that after unlocking the insanely expensive path to my Nar landing pad I have to go through this expense (regardless of the additional crafting or missions time gauntlet) to park MY ship on MY newly unlocked-at-great-expense-already landing pad?! I haven't even wrapped my head around the storyline or lore excuse for this. To the suit that added these things -- you're going to wind up losing ten times more of my money in the long run, than you're making for a quick, extra buck now. These surprise triple charges for subscribers and CC buyers are insulting. Kind of like how you can't rent the movies online right now all of a sudden (you must buy them at inflated prices; way to promote piracy). Game-wise, this decreases interest in the goals which, (conversely) in your defense, I know must be ingeniously managed in the first place, without undervaluing your own programming and admin.; I know it's a balance but it's pretty clear when its strays into the abusive. I know this is SW but it brings to mind Golem wringing his hands at some desk down the hall, a long way off from the coders' & GM's desks. There's enough in this game to fix this ship thing now. Awesome game, though, when it doesn't make you want to leave out of principle.
  10. I know many items bought with Cartel Coins are worth a bundle credits on the player economy exchange, but not all items purchased with Data Crystals automatically bring a handsome price in Credits at one of those kiosks. Any ideas of a good conversion ratio for a certain item purchasable with DC's, to sell at swtor market? I thought I stumbled across something I bought with DC that was worth a lot in Credits, but forgot what... ...maybe list some relatively over-priced companion gifts to sit around and sell for a few days, and happen across a window low in supply and high in demand, after all the el cheapos are temorarily sold at some hour, and before the el cheapos re-list someone will be jonesing for Imperial Memorabilia? Thanks -- Divmontru
