  1. the rewards are , in large part, just a new type of scam pack with an ambiguously elevated CHANCE of getting a desirable item.... I'll say it again The ONLY way to get BW to give any respect to those players who've been playing this long and keeping the game alive this long is to unsub en-masse for the duration of this event, and let them see we pay sub fee's for content, not BS.
  2. I'm amazed they even have time for such petty stuff when they're so busy developing amazing new content like the dark vs light event......
  3. Totally agree with the OP, but the only way to make a point to bioware is to create an organized and LARGE strike. A virtual walkout of subscribers going F2P together, unified, and vocal about why the movement is happening and what BW can do to end it. This is just another corp that does whatever it can get away with for profit, money is the only language they'll ever understand, and a "player's union" for lack of a better term, is the only way we'll get the changes we want.
  4. I filled out an application on your website, look for J.B.
  5. Hey, I'm actively looking for a skilled and experienced HM progression ops team. I'm geared, experienced, and looking for a team that is a good fit and has a schedule that works for me; M-F , 5pm-10pm server (est) time. - obviously not on that whole time but that's the window I could make myself available.
  6. What I read interested me, can you tell me more about the guild, its activities, the people, and what the day to day membership experience is like in general?
  7. Maybe I worded it poorly, but to make it clear, I totally get that the guilds that spam chat are not the type I am looking for . That was my general point. I'm glad to know a better class of guilds exists, now I suppose the question becomes : How do I find a guild like that, and join up?
  8. I know a lot of guilds will let anyone who's interested in joining in with very little required . That is fine for them if that's what they want, and I pass no judgement, but I'm looking for a guild that has a slightly higher bar. Nothing too specific yet as finding one that is a good fit will be on a case by case basis but generally some things I'd like to see are; Some standard for joining relative to the players achievement and skill requirements for members about staying active (i.e. "must be on line `minimum` of x hours per week, for example) expectations for guild interaction (lots of guilds where people join up and never talk on chat let alone participate in guild activities, that would be the opposite of what I'm looking for. ) that brings me to a focus on guild-organized activities. (HM-NiM ops., conquest, group coordinated heroic speed-runs, organized FP runs for dailies/weekles, ETC. ^^ That gives a general beginning of an idea of what I have in mind, it's certainly not an exhaustive list, and I'm sure there's more I haven't thought of that I would be impressed by. Thanks all, I look forward to your input, suggestions, and recommendations. Post up here, or PM me if you'd prefer, will reply to everyone as soon as I'm able.
  9. With all the guilds that spam recruitment ads on fleet, or blindly send an invite to anyone announcing they are looking for a guild in general chat, I am wondering if this is the norm. I hear stories about guilds that do a lot of really cool things, very member-centrist, active, socially engaged, guilds that focus less on the quantity of their members and more on the quality of each member allowed to join. I'm sure, given the subjective nature of membership standards , every guild would be different when it comes to deciding how to screen new potential members, and that's fine. All I'm wondering is , why is it that that so many guilds seem to have a " we a take all members and expect nothing from you to contribute back to the guild" mentality? And before the needy trolls jump in with their, pedantic hairsplitting, I know many guilds ask members to be online at least once a week and try to participate in conquest or something if they have time. That "low bar" type situation I would not consider relevant to my question. Thanks in advance to everyone for your helpful, intelligent replies!
  10. Item will become inactive, literally. you will get the same red icon you get when you're armor is totally broken from lack of repair/too many deaths, only when you hover over it , you'll get a message that the item is invalid without artifact auth. The same goes for any item that has even one single purple mod in it. When this happens the items stats drop to zero, not on the screen, but functionally, the items stats are no longer applied to your sum total. Sorry if I used the wrong terminology or lingo that ya'll use, I'm just a casual player, but I'm sure you get the gist of what I'm saying, feel free to ask me to explain anything if you like.
  11. oh well, I guess I'll just wait for another guide, or maybe switch to focus....
  12. Fair enough, but you could have taken a bit of time to remove references that only apply to 3.0 and make sure you addressed everything new in 4.0 like the new utilities. also when you wrote this; I was a bit confused because watchman is a spec for sentinel, not guardian.... Thanks man, I'm glad someone else understands, I hope Ryd will too
  13. No offense intended to anyone, particularly not to Mr. Rydarus, but I was disappointed and frustrated with the "4.0" version of the guide... Just seems like a lot of the info was not 4.0 oriented and with all the jargon it seemed geared towards people who are so familiar with the game and it's mechanics they would be less in need of a guide, as compared to those of us that don't spend a lot of our day-to-day time playing the game lingo. Just some input from a perspective you may not have gotten, for whatever it's worth.
