  1. Good point. I don't really think this will be an issue though -- at least not on the busier servers like Harbinger and Shadowlands where I notice several 8-man matches going on at the same time. In my mind, most people will want to queue for "Everything" in order to get more pops. Some will want to exclude a single match type and receive fewer pops, but not have to suffer through practicing arena rotations instead of fighting for the ball in a huttball match.
  2. I feel like ranked arenas no longer make any sense given changes brought about by 3.3. In the past, pvp progression consisted of (1) reaching the level cap, (2) getting tier 1 PVP gear by playing regular warzones, (3) earning ranked gear by playing ranked matches. It was possible to get ranked gear without playing ranked games, but it was a slow and painful process. As it stands today, both tiers of PVP gear are purchased with the same commendations. The sole purpose of ranked games seems to be to earn a rating that gets you rewards at the end of the season. Outside of that, there is little point to it. Some players have expressed their dislike of arenas and long for the return of 8v8 objective ranked games. Others have expressed their dislike of games like huttball, and prefer games that are quick and simple (arenas). As the saying goes "Different strokes for different folks"... The great thing about PVP in this game is that there are multiple flavors of it. I would like to suggest removing ranked games in their current form. Instead, make the pvp queue similar to the flashpoint group finder -- i.e. allow players to queue for only arenas, only huttball, or everything if they so choose. Instead of having a "ranked season", have a "PVP season" that runs for the same amount of time. At the end of the season, players can be rewarded based on achievements for each type of match -- e.g. give out titles like "Huttball Superstar", "Arena Champion", etc. Rewards can still be based on how a player performed relative to other players -- e.g. special rewards go out to the top n players, etc. I feel a system like this will make pvp fun and competitive again. Those players who complain about arenas being too dependent on group compositions can choose to master huttball instead and be equally rewarded. Players who enjoy arenas can continue to queue for them and earn the same type of rewards. The main advantages I see to a system like this are: You aren’t forcing arenas down players’ throats. All pvp matches can be rewarding You give players the ability to play what they want when they want You lessen instances of players trying to “game the system” with win-trading, accusations of throwing games by faking disconnects, etc. It’s less stressful and more fun… Play the types of games you enjoy and get rewarded for exceling. In my mind, this is a simple change to the system, but could go a long way in keeping PVP'ers interested. Would the developers be open to something like this?
