  1. To be fair, there was ONE Dev on STO that was very active with the players (granted, mainly chatting for hours in sub-channels in game specific to his area of work, but still very active) before he left to go to another company. But, yes, communication between Developers and players in MMOs seems to be the exception rather than the rule.
  2. Everyone keeps mentioning companions, but I have a different question that (so far as I have seen) hasn't been addressed. Since the Outlander will be in the future, will they be able to send/receive mail from characters that aren't the Outlander, or, since there is only one Outlander, from other Outlander Characters for that matter? Additionally, will they be able to use Guild/Legacy storage or current Strongholds since other Outlanders and "people from the past" could be there too? It would be interesting to consider how your "non-Outlander" got mail from the future
  3. Is it safe to assume this pack is temporary like the previous stronghold decoration pack?
  4. I thank you for the enlightenment. I was unaware of that particular issue, and in that case can see how it may be useful. That being said, I am still not sure if the benefits from what may or may not be a "limited" bug (not sure how many it affects or how often) outweigh the potential for abuse. Many others have made suggestions as to limit said abuse. It bears looking into, and if it could be implemented without abuse (I know nothing is 100% fail safe) I would be willing to support this.
  5. Other games have seen the potential for things like the OP stated. I know of at least 2 MMOs that I have played where you can do things to "level up" your "guild" (though not always called a guild, it is the same concept). The levels take different things in different games for instance: * when 2 or more guild members are grouped a small % of the earned XP is added to the Guilds XP (kind of like the way Legacy works I think) and as the guild levels you can unlock different "perks", again, kind of like Legacy. * There are projects that get completed to earn XP for the guild. Most projects could be completed over time with only one person, but a group effort is usually best. Of the 2 ways I have seen, I prefer the first. It encourages guilds to work together, and, from what I have seen, doesn't make the game unbalanced. Additionally, not only would a guild have to reach the level to unlock the ability to siphon credits from mob drops, but they would still have to purchase that ability to use it.
  6. /stuck has always worked for me (even if it occasionally kills me and respawns me somewhere). For that matter, why does using your emergency fleet pass not work, it is the same thing, you just have to actually log in.? I can see all kinds of abuse potential for such a system, with no real advantage as to why you would need to do it from the selection screen and not once you log in. Perhaps you can enlighten me.
  7. Wow, with so many actually good suggestions getting no replies, how does this one get 2 pages? It is clear that the OP intends to merely berate anyone who disagrees with the suggestion in any way they can find to do so, until only those who agree will post (at which point hopefully this thread will fall into the abyss and die).
  8. I know some exist such as the Bounty Terminal and Meditation one but I am talking more along the Chairs/Benches/Beds line. I know the tech exists in game for it (the 2 aforementioned examples show you can make it where you click something and have your character do a specific emote) . Additionally, the Captain's Chair on your ship lets you click on it and sit down (which is exactly what I would like to see added to existing bed/chair/bench decorations) (would be great if you could get NPC Decoration characters to do so too, but that is probably a lot harder)
  9. I love this idea!!! My Strongholds are fairly lifeless (sure I have gotten a few NPCs, but for the most part they are just static too, may as well be statues). Having NPCs that can "interact" with other decorations would be great as well. * There are plenty of computer type decorations, but no NPCs to use them * I have a medical bay with beds and Medics/Medical Droids but no patients * I have a Bartender/Serving Droid/Waitress that just stay motionless and no patrons of the drinks they "offer" * No one can sit in any of the many chairs/benches I have (that being said, beds/benches/seats/ect that you can click on and automatically sit on or lay on (emote depending on the decoration type) would be fantastic (I know other games can do it, and I think the Captain's Chair on your ship does it, so I am sure the tech exists) but that is a topic for a different thread) * I know it has been mentioned in other threads, but an actual band (either as one decoration or several smaller ones) That and; 1) there are other threads for that 2) this is "Faction based NPC PACK'S" not "Legacy based NPC PACK'S" Though, if they could be more than just "stationary models" and not Holograms, I would like to see it added
  10. LOL, so many people want, but they still don't put them in. My thought, if they are able to be obtained through the "Collections" tab it should come with a mannequin item that you can unlock for a stronghold hook (Maybe like the ones they use to display the full armor set in the "Collections" page). Of course, that item would have to be bound either to the character or to your legacy to prevent them from being sold on the GTN, but all of the armor pieces already are too, so why not the unlock item?
  11. Most companions can get modable armor at around 19 through the crafting system (I think most if not all craftable, modable armor earlier than that is for specific classes, which means companions can't use them). The exception to this, unless I am missing something somewhere, are the droids (especially T7 as a starting companion). Can we please get orange (modable) droid part schematics as a potential drop like the rest of the lower level orange (modable) gear schematics? I generally avoid playing Jedi Knight because all of the other classes I can equip my companions with crafted gear that I can upgrade as I go along (either with full Cartel Outfits from Collections, or, if all else fails, crafting them something at level 19) Additionally, I don't know about anyone else, but I personally think that a lot of the Cartel Outfits are considerably cooler than anything I can craft (I personally will now have all my troopers use the new "Tactical Infantry" Outfit since I was able to get a full set of that. I particularly like the animation that goes with it. I think that occasionally getting a cool outfit added to crafting would help keep the crafting system active. Obviously, I don't recommend adding crafted outfits to collections (as that would defeat the purpose) .
  12. Had such high hopes for KotFE, but with it basically being a single player game I'll probably just play it a couple of times then put it with all my other single player games I play once every couple of years for nostalgia sake (though, if I can't play it without a sub then I will probably just stop playing all together. Pretty much every computer game I play with any sense of regularity I can play with friends (in my opinion, I'd much rather play a game with my friends than by myself). In fact, I almost never play SWTOR unless one of my friends is playing too, and in the off chance I do, I almost never last longer than an hour playing before I get bored and switch to some game on Steam that a friend is playing. In my opinion, and that is all it is, MY OPINION, KotFE should be a separate game, not an expansion of SWTOR if they are going to change it from truly multiplayer to only having some multiplayer aspects. And, since it appears it is going to be locked down to subscribers only (can't buy the expansion individually like you can the rest of them) it may as well be a separate game. I have always thought paying monthly for a single player game was a stupid idea. I have no problem with a subscription to an MMO, I have paid those many times for many different MMOs, but I feel if a game is single player (or predominantly single player as this seems to be, it should be a one time purchase. I know if KotOR and KotOR 2 had required subscriptions I never would have played them, and I seriously doubt many others would have either. Personally, I'll probably continue to play SWTOR (at least while my friends do) but will stop character progression when I hit the KotFE "storyline"
  13. Lucky you. My new Phone (Galaxy Note) isn't supported by the app so I can't install it. Fortunately, I still have my old phone which is supported and I just use that (for now). Would hate to see what would happen if I had to replace my old phone because it no longer worked. I wish they hadn't discontinued the key fob, I would have gotten one of those.
  14. I am having this issue too and I logged out of the game the way I normally do earlier today. Been downloading "Main Assets 1" for almost 2 hours now (Average of 3.8 MB/s) and though it is almost done it looks as though that 12+ GB group of assets is only about 1/10 of the total install. Things I did in game earlier today (in case it helps debugging): Purchased Togruta Species Deleted old character to make room for a new one Visited a Yavin 4 Stronghold (from the Stronghold Directory) to explore it Opened a Landslide Assault Speeder and used the flourish equipped 3 different Black-Orange Striated Color Crystals to get them added to my collection Started some profession missions to continue leveling them Placed some decorations (Mandalorian Elite, Mandalorian Banners, and Bounty Table if that matters) and moved some things around in my Legacy Storage to organize it Other than that I didn't do anything (only places I went were Imperial Fleet, My Stronghold on Nar Shadaa, and the one on Yavin) Edit/Update: While I was typing this Assets 1 finished and now I am downloading "Main Assets 210" another 11.2 GB remain on that last I looked. Probably needing to download another 7 or 8 blocks of assets from the looks of my progress bar.
