OK this is probably a stupid question and I have read the guide here. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=132015 Are the bonuses for everyone meaning my character OR does it matter which companion does what?

if you don't have any level 50 toons does it make sense to buy the Shadow of Revan expansion? I am a sub but newer to the game
