  1. I'd love to ride Darth Maul's speeder from Episode 1. That thing was sithy in all the right places! http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Bloodfin_(speeder)
  2. Thank for responses! See this is my issue with the Mod system instead of an appearance slot. No orangey and you're out of luck Hopefully, they'll fix the loot table for the legs. I'm on a level strike until they do! C'mon BW!
  3. Apparently there's no complete set of the Black Talon Hunter's Armor. The Blue and White look. Is that right? I'm looking for a full orange set of this appearance...Helm, Chest, Legs, Gloves, Boots, Belt etc. If that's currently impossible then I'm camping my lvl 14 BH on the Imp Station and waiting for BW to add the set before I play this guy.
  4. This is what happens when a PC house starts making console games. Graphic options? What are those? #consoledev
  5. i7-2600k @ 4.5ghz Asus P67 WS moboard 8 gigs RAM 2x OCZ Vertex 3 240GB SSDs 2x EVGA GTX 480 27" iMac used as monitor Win 7 x64 Pro I run at 2560x1440 res with max settings including forced AA at 4x and transparency AA at 2x super sampling. Shadows are enabled. I get 60fps just about everywhere except my ship (weird bug gives me 10fps) and Tython which can drop to 40-30fps occasionally.
  6. Hear, hear! The more customization options the better!
  7. If higher resolution textures don't exist it's embarrassing for Bioware. If they do they need to be in game ASAP. I don't think the game looks "fine" now. It's a blurry mess and I play at 2560 x 1440 with AA forced on. Bioware spent too much time making console games. They've forgotten their PC roots.
  8. Yes, the "space flight" stuff is weak and gimmicky. They didn't have time to do it properly. The obvious answer is to remake X-Wing or Tie Fighter games for the space combat stuff. Please include real joystick and pedals support too PC games ftw!
  9. Thanks for all the thoughtful replies. Actually it didn't take anywhere near an hour and I wasn't trying to hide the fact that this is an appearance tab thread. I also don't believe it's a so-called vocal minority. I think most players would like control over how their character looks. It's been an incredibly positive feature in every game where it's been implemented. There are additional crafting and game design benefits to the appearance tab/cosmetic system as well. You can have another class of purely cosmetic items to use as rewards for quests, flashpoints, operations, social stuff. You also add a lot to the player driven economy and provide monetary outlets for crafters. They do have that to some degree with the orange items as noted by another poster, but the fact that they are rare drops from crew missions and somewhat random makes the current implementation too limiting. In fact, the only legitimate negative is people using cosmetic appearances within PVP, which can be solved by disabling the system within PVP environments (also noted previously). Well, as has been noted before, LOTRO has had this feature for awhile and more recently I believe Rift implemented it (and a dye system at launch) within one or two patches after release. Notice also that WoW implemented a variation of the cosmetic system just as a rather large number of subscribers began leaving. I doubt they would have released it then if they didn't think it would be popular. In the end it all comes down to putting power into the player's hands. I don't really understand the negativity towards this. It's not like the player doesn't have to acquire the items via auction house, dungeon, raid or crafting anyways. It's just providing the flexibility to let individuals choose the looks they find most rewarding for the gear they get while playing the game. Call it playing barbie or whatever, but making your character look cool is an incredibly rewarding mechanic for most players and one that should be made available to as many as possible.
  10. I realize this is debated a lot, but I'm determined to throw my .02 out there. I will also say that being able to make my character look the way *I* want is probably the most important thing to me about an MMO. I think the idea of "orange" gear that's upgradeable is an interesting take on customization, but for it to truly work you'd need EVERY piece of gear designated as orange. What if I really like the origin world armor for my Jedi? Nope, too bad, not orange. So I can customize the way I look, but only from a selection of armors deemed worthy by the devs? That just strikes me as wrong. As a player, I should be able to select any look for my character that I like within the rules, i.e. I'm a consular so I can only wear light armor and it's a piece I legitimately acquired in the game, etc. In my opinion, the game is in desperate need of the tried and true cosmetic slots. Lord of the Rings Online has just about the best system I've seen for this. It's truly one of the greatest features of that game and has resulted in so much community love and enthusiasm. Heck, they even let you equip armor types your class wouldn't be able to normally wear via their cosmetic system. Everyone gets to make their character look the way THEY want, equip the stats armor they need and feel awesome about themselves. Oh and they have a wardrobe bank system so you can share all those looks with ALL characters on your account. You can also dye everything. Win! The diversity of looks you get in the game is amazing. People feel truly unique. How is this not the standard for all modern MMOs is beyond me. Now, I've got 2 kids so I'm a casual player, but the Orange Armor system seems to have way too many limitations on it. It becomes a barrier to making my character look the way I think he/she should. In my opinion, the player should always have that control and not a developer.
