  1. [quote=cmdrzoom;9174243 [*]I've never ever been a serious raider in any game. Not my thing. Recently, some questlines have tempted me to try Ops; twice now in just the last few days, I've been yelled at for wasting the time of seven other people. I don't think I'm going back. I read thru all of your post and that ws the one thing that stuck out for me because I know EXACTLY how you feel. Even when I was in a guild, and the Op was with people who were also in my guild, and they all KNEW I was new to ops, there were still people snarking about how I wasn't in the right place, and spacebar thru the cut scenes, and blahblahblah. I was totally turned off by the whole thing. It wasn't until a few guilds later that Chris and I were in a group for ops where we were mostly all new to Ops and it was more a training thing, and teaching us HOW TO DO THE OP. Because that's what no one else would do. They wouldn't TEACH it or EXPLAIN it. Now, I don't hate ops, I still don't LIKE them, but I don't hate them, and the new 4man thing looks intriguing simply because I'm pretty sure Chris and I can find TWO likeminded people, unlike trying to find 6. I'm willing to try anyway.
  2. I prefer the original class stories as well. However, I really REALLY want to get a trooper done all the way thru and into Endgame Land because apparently if you do a female trooper and have a love interest with Jorgan it's quite the emotional reunion when you get him back in the expansions and I want to see that. My sorc is STILL waiting, very impatiently, to get her husband Andronikas back and she's not happy about it AT ALL.
  3. Christien is SUCH a bad influence! YUP! He really aught to be ashamed of himself. Dragging me into swtor and getting me all addicted and stuffs. I am definitely a casual player. I'm the other half of the guild Chris talks about, the guild of TWO peoples!... and a ton of alts... I'm a stay at home mom so I play swtor as a way to relieve frustration. I tell people that the only reason my children are still alive is because I can go into swtor and destroy droids. I play when the mood strikes me, and mostly play the first part of the game. in fact, I don't hav ANY toons that have finished the whole game. I think I'm two expansions behind on the two toons I had taken into endgame land. lol I prefer the first part. so much more fun.
  4. Christien and I used to be in a guild where they took a tongue in cheek approach to PvP and I admit, it was the only time I really enjoyed doing it. We were the PINK v P and we had all dyed our pvp gear obnoxious colors of pink. I cringed every time I put that pastel pink and white gear on, but it really was a lot of fun, I watched "hardcore pvpers" literally leave the moment they saw us because we weren't taking it seriously enough. Doing Ops, unless Chris was in the group with me, was also something of a chore since most of the rest were the kind who wanted you to spacebar thru the cinematics and I refused to do so, usually because I had never seen it before and I wanted to WATCH dangit! Chris always agreed with me so they would shut up, but if I was there without him they'd try to bully me at times. Made it so I didn't like doing Ops much. Same with Flashpoints if someone was running me thru it. my first flashpoint was like that. I had to go back and do it solo because when I did it with the person who was "helping" me, I had to spacebar thru everything and thus had absolutely no idea what the flashpoint was about, or what I was supposed to be doing. Made it rather disappointing to be honest. I have a ton of fun with swtor, I love it. I like making these crazy names that are just FUNNY, altho I do try to have the name match what kind of character they are. I'm enjoying the Life Day festival right now *buffs her Special Snowflake title with her sleeve*, and I LOVE esc out of convos and trying different alternatives, the snark you find that way!!! LOL I agree the voice overs have been fantastic altho I'm telling you, the first time I did the Trooper line and heard Jorgin, no lie, Chris can attest to this since we were in skype at the time, I yelled out, "LASSIE!!!" then I had to explain that the voice actor played a detective lassiter on Psych. LOL
  5. I admit, I have not finished all the different paths yet, but so far the hardest one for me has actually been the Bounty Hunter. I try to play it as a Hunter that once bought, stays bought for the duration of that job, which means I had to make decisions I didn't really care for simply because I had to stay loyal to what the person paying me wanted. At the moment, My Trooper Commando is my current favorite, there's something rather freeing about just being able to go in there and blow everything to heck and know you're doing it on orders. LOL (If you see a Cathar Trooper running around named Catnip N'Claws wave and say hai!) I have yet to make a male toon, altho I want to make a male smuggler at some point just so SOME companions don't get their panties in a knot when the female smuggler flirts with people. I find the smugglers and the Sith Inq's have some of the best snarky lines. What I have ended up doing is grabbing Nico early, which I know not everyone can do since I believe he was a sub reward. But I grab the communicator to call him and use him early out of my mail whenever I make a new toon, and I primarily use him since he doesn't care what decisions you make. I have my 1K legacy kills for most of the companions already so I can use him and not worry about it. When you're lvl's 1-10 and have him, he pretty much oneshots everything for you. it's great! But this way I can make whatever decisions I want with the story line and not have to worry about keeping my companions happy.
  6. I am the friend yep! LOL it's just the two of us and our multitudes of alts. I'm glad you like our guild names! We figured it suited our personalities pretty well. chuckles
  7. As the friend mentioned in this thread I also send out my invitation to anyone who wishes it. We are indeed very laid back. I have been playing games of one sort or another since the days of BALLEY.. beat that!! HAH! lol That was before Atari days. I have played several MMO's but this is the one I always come back to. My friend here introduced it to me a year and a half ago and while I have cursed him several times for it, he knows I don't mean it. LOL I also love the Classic play and have several alts in various stages of completion. I have, I regret to admit, only finished two types, I keep getting distracted and then making new ones instead of just finishing the ones I have halfway done. LOL We enjoy teaming up and doing the classic story together, each of us on a different type of character. It makes for some fun shenanigans. LOL BTW, if you've never done a fully DARK toon on the PUB side, you really need to try it.. it's HILARIOUS! or doing a fully LIGHT toon on Imp side... "wait... you mean you're NOT going to kill me??!" Thankyou so much for this thread, it's refreshing to read something that is not all "grrgrrhatehatehate"
  8. Thankyou so much for taking the time to break this all down and explain it for us. I am really excited about the changes you have planned as I am someone who prefers to do content solo and I only team up with my friend when we are going to do H2's or Star Fortress. This makes getting all those companion quests done much more realistic for me now. I know there has been a lot of ugly things said, but I hope this will satisfy MOST people (can never please everybody! lol)
  9. THANKYOU. When I readt in Eric's post that it was SUPPOSED to need higher gear I was flabbergasted. Why on earth would ANYone want to do a Heroic that will be dropping LOWER gear than what they need to complete it? And do it not once, but a BAZILLION TIMES. It makes absolutely no sense at all.
  10. What I'm finding interesting while reading thru all this is that while we are at odds at how we think this issue should be fixed, WE ARE ALL IN AGREEMENT THAT IT IS BROKEN. Not just the game itself is broken, but also communication and adequate testing.
  11. This. so much of THIS. I do agree that pre-patch the companions were a tad overpoweerd, however now they're just derped. I would have been happy with a ..oh.. say.. 25% decrease. that would have made them USEABLE but still USEFUL. What is really bothering me tho, is how BW tried sneaking this in and is now trying to get us to do all the testing for them. I'd be MORE than happy to test this... just as soon as they start paying me as a Tester.
  12. I think it is wonderful that you have decided to create an MMO for elitist players, however this should have been stated that this IS what this game is. Because of this you have created a maelstrom of negativity which is spilling out beyond this forum and into multiple other forums and blogs. You chose to listen to the tiny minority of elitists and ignore the vast majority of casual players who make up most of your subscribers... well not anymore since many of them are unscubscribing. You have chosen to do all these things during a time when Disney (oh yeah, those people who actually OWN Star Wars) has been pouring out millions upon millions of dollars to create nothing but positive feelings about Star Wars so that people would be excited to see the upcoming movie next month. But I'm sure you have your explanations all set when Disney asks why you are not only hemorrhaging money but subscribers as well. And since all of you are such Intelligent and Integrity-filled people I'm sure you'll have no problems finding jobs in other companies when Disney demands accountability.
