  1. They're irrelevant (to me, at least) because the overall story is of a more important, more personally urgent questline. All of those planet-specific stories are distractions. While it's nice to have choices in leveling paths, I've found the game to be a lot more fun with 12x class xp, because it allows me to concentrate on story. Otherwise, it's too distracting running about doing all sorts of things while the galaxy burns.
  2. Because they had to, not necessarily because they wanted to. IMO, side-questing is terrible in a story-driven game. The 12xp focuses the story, so that you're not running around trying to level up so you can do the urgent, important missions that save the galaxy & so on. Quite frankly, I thought this game was just another WoW clone MMO until they implemented 12x class story XP; now that I don't have to do side quests, the game got a lot more interesting. SoR is, so far, not doing any of that for me, which is why I'm disliking it. I'm finding the entire "pirate gang" angle quite lame. I'm thinking of blowing off the rest of questing & just FP my way these last 3 levels.
  3. Then there's those of us who don't like the event but aren't complaining, & are instead simply not logging in until it's over. Is there a problem with that? Does that stance display some sort of significant personality disorder of the type you're flinging about? If not, please try nuancing your claims so you don't come across like a poor man's Donald Trump.
  4. This. I had trouble killing Stivastin, so ended up getting a guild group together for fun flashpoint times & quest credit. Those solo instances are a LOT more fun when done with friends!
  5. You are observing the Wild Forum Troll in its natural habitat. Honestly, it's not a particularly interesting study object, tho.
  6. I most likely will not be a subscriber by October; my subscription runs out next Friday & I'm planning on transitioning back to Preferred.
  7. So far I'm not convinced I'll be buying the expac at all.
  8. Well, I can't complain about XP or anything like that, but I will say that so far Rishi is quickly becoming one of my least favorite planets. I'm not even sure I disliked Taris quite this much. I don't even feel like I'm doing anything at all related to what I've been doing for the last 57 levels ... the story line that has brought me to Rishi feels canned & artificial, as if BW only put it in to take advantage of people's love for pirates. I'll finish it out eventually, but it's leaving me very unenthused about leveling alts past 55.
  9. FWIW, I managed to read the entire OP to the end. I don't have any other comment, but just wanted to say I read the OP, because it took a LOT of effort to get past that first line.
  10. I wasn't arguing your main point before; now that I've had a chance to get past Makeb, I am. It could, of course, be that you're a totally elite professional world-quality gamer, & I'm a talentless clueless scrub. Or, it could also be that you're exaggerating badly to try & make rhetorical points. At this point, based on what I've seen past Makeb, I'm quite strongly inclined to the latter, & you know why? Because, I've seen your type in every MMO I've ever played for almost 18 years now, & so far, the vast majority have been talking out of their tailpipes. So, ya, based on what I've seen, you're exaggerating.
  11. Quite frankly, I think both Talos Rellick & Malavai Quinn are gay. I can't say why I think that, tho. I just do. There's nothing at all wrong with either of them being gay. Bioware, pull them out of the closet!
  12. No, I'm arguing your insults based on your insults. I can't argue your "observations" on the last few planets. However, I've got a sneaky suspicion that by the time I "finish" I won't agree with you any more than I do now. We'll see. I've got about 5-6 people I know in real life who are telling me I'll have a lot of fun in these last 5 levels, so you'll forgive me if I choose to pay more attention to them, than I do to Random Internet Poster #1billion who can't even formulate an argument without insulting thousands of people he doesn't even know. & yes, there's a term for what I did: it's called "being honest" with one's disputants. If you have an issue with honesty, that's your business, not mine.
  13. Right. Your "argument" is a long-winded way of claiming that most people are talentless, unskilled scrubs with no imagination & no care -- a claim I've seen from people *just like you* on *every* MMO forum since 1997. But I'm the one who couldn't respond with resorting to "FOTM" accusations? Tha'ts a head-desk if ever I've seen one. As a result, that very last line nearly made me spit coffee all over my keyboard & monitor. Seriously: if you gave me something to argue that WASN'T "lame all-purpose umbrella terms" I might take you seriously, but so far, in this thread at least, all I've seen from you is hand-waving rhetoric. Have a nice day. I'm off to Rishii, like a good lil toddler sheep.
  14. About a week or so ago, when I was trying to figure out how to be Darth Thanaton on Voss to continue my class quest. Tried it three times, couldn't deal with the adds that kept jumping, so I popped back out to do other things & come back later. So, yea. The game's totally ez enough a toddler can faceroll their way through Revan, amirite? But actual players still get defeated playing the actual game. That's what's called "hyperbole" & it kills your argument, because you have no evidence whatsoever to back it up & are operating instead on rhetorical fumes. Are you sure you're not Conundrum in disguise? I'm on the last quest on Makeb, so I don't know. But I got killed trying to get into the Hutt Facility; an elite & 2 regulars was a bit more than I could handle. However, I'm moving on to Rishii anyway, so maybe I'll more agree with you (or, maybe less) then. We'll see. I can't comment, because I don't know ... & frankly, neither do you. Of course, you could come back & tell me I just don't know to play while implying you're the MMO Master or something, but that impress me at all, so please don't waste your time or mine. Sorry, that's not merely straight-up hyperbolic trolling, your entire argument is an indirect insult to a lot of people you don't even know. That is exactly the kind of attitude that turns people away from "hardcore MMO players" in the first place. Counter-productivity, HO!!!!!
  15. It does scare the heck out of me, when it's a President or Congress-critter. When it's a video game developer? Not so much. Because this is a game. It's not "important" in the grand scheme of things, so quit trying to act like the weight of western civilization is hanging by a thread. See? I can use hyperbole too, but it doesn't make for an argument worth reading.
