Firstly as i already stated, shield and defence don't offer the same protection as endurance does. Secondly, how many games have you joined where there is no healer? So you are asking all tanks to roll with the "stock" PvP gear and gimp themselves because you think that is how tanks should roll? It's not like DPS don't min / max their gear right? And healers don't min / max their gear mkay? This is a Bioware issue, you can't blame anyone that want's to get the best out of the gear available to them. Mods / Augs / enhancements can be swapped around for a reason.

No but i did notice something realy strange today. Can't remember the name of the map (the one with the canyon and bridge) but i was fighting an operative and knocked him off the bridge and then jumped down to finish him off. Well he rolled into the bridge (actualy inside it) where i couldn't attack him, he then started healing to full. I thought he fell through the map so carried on with the game, then there he is again (last man standing) so me and a Jug are chasing him and he runs to the same spot again and again rolls into the bridge - heals to full - stealth's and then opens up on me again. We killed him, next round he did it again.... It didn't change the outcome, we won. But it was annoying as hell because it stretched the game out. There must be a spot there where you can (using roll) actually go through the terrain.

That is all fine and dandy, but you can't nerf a tanks damage for being in the tanking stance until you fix how defence works in PvP with all the crits and super crits. You are asking for a tank to wear gear that doesn't mitigate crits, then how can they tank? Anyone with insta crit (everyone) would just walk right through them. Before you all cry for nerfs, look at the reasons people are using "hybrid" builds. It isn't to DPS, because their DPS is way way behind the DPS specs. it is to tank, high endurance builds are the only way to tank effectively, and Power comes with these Mods / enhancements and augments .... hence the higher DPS than a pure tank build using the shield defence augs / Mods and enhancements. I came across this build purely by chance, i was getting a new *** ripped every time i tried to guard using the stock armor. So i slowly changed to high Endurance and saw a massive boost to my survivability aswell as a boost to my damage. So before you cry "NERF NERF NERF" look at the reasons it is happening... and instead cry " FIX FIX FIX "

Actually you are wrong, unlike you i play every AC in the game including Sorc. You and people like you QQ every time they die and SCREAM for nerfs, a Jug tank can only annoy me when im on my Sorc, im sorry to hear they rip you a new one but that is a L2P issue and not a reason for nerfs. Again, unlike you, i have only ever asked for buffs to any AC on these forums. Namely a buff to rocket out for Merc's. I don't feel the need to cry on these boards. And like i said, coming from a Sorc.... Best self heals in the game - highest overall DPS - best mobility - best escape (or at the very least on par with Operative) Tell me again what gives you the right to call for nerfs. EDIT: I notice you are also posting in nerf PT threads.... just lol

Agreed. My Jug tank (full DPS / Endurance) averages 14 - 15k for my biggest hit in a WZ. The only time i have hit harder than that was in an arena where i targeted a Merc with 75k HP who was obviosly full PvE and even then i only got 18k. Stop with the BS please. These threads are like watching a virus take hold, two days a ago there was one thread, then a few PvE'ers see it and instead of adding to the existing thread they make their own threads even more Hyperbole than the original. There are now 3 threads on this lol. And not a single one offers anything new, they just out exaggerate each other ( if that is even a word )

I have both gear sets for my Guardian and i concur with you. As vigilance i can pull 30-40% more DPS than i can tank spec with all damage / endurance. What makes them good is how they are still in the fight after their healer has come back from respawn... thats where the DPS comes from. It's the fact they have little to no downtime.

This can be debated till the cows come home but the facts are that it is what it is and it won't be altered because it doesn't affect PvE in any negative way. I would love to see an immunity - three instant global's to DPS or heal - being unable to be leapt or ported to for 6 seconds..... Any of these would be nice but it won't happen. I just do my PvP daily's now on my Merc and stay as far away from Ranked as humanly possible. It's a shame that my Merc is the only class where people actually quit group when i join rated because they know they are handicapped before a shot is fired. I'm just lucky that i have all AC's so i can still enjoy all facets of PvP in this game. I pity anyone that only has a Merc, it means a portion of the game is closed off for them.

I think that rocket out would be fine as it is " pathing issues and all " if they just added a passive to it. Something similar to the one point skill in heroic. Like not being able to be leaped to or phase walked to for 6 seconds. Or having our heals activate instantly for the next 2-3 globals. The way it is at the moment it just takes you away from your group and isolates you, meaning you are in more trouble than you where. I play every AC at all levels of PvP and all classes barring Merc get an "oh **** " button that either allows a full reset of the fight or 3-6 seconds of virtual immunity. Merc, while still being an enjoyable class to play is the only one that has zero ways of getting out of dodge if they are focused. There is a reason that every time i join a ranked game i am immediately marked and then tunnelled by the opposition. It isn't because i can blow their healer up any quicker than a Jug or marauder or assassin or PT. It's because im a guaranteed kill if focused, unlike anyone else on my team.

I use a Logitech 12 button mouse, so i have never needed to use macros either. However a friend of mine uses macros all the time with the same mouse as mine (different game) because he has arthritis in his left hand due to a work injury. It doesn't give him any advantage but it does allow him to play at a very high level instead of being a keyboard turner / clicker so i understand the need for them for some people.

hey all, I know this is a thread about openers, but as a new concealment Operative i feel that i do ok in this department and have this down. My problems lie in constantly being rooted so i have to eat damage because i can't roll. I have tried multiple utility setup's but just can't replicate the feats i see being pulled off by other Ops / scrappers. I can 1 v 1 most people i come across but as soon as more than one person is involved and i eat a root or snare im screwed. I see other Ops rolling and healing and laughing while there are 1-2-3 people chasing them.... i take one snare and im dead. What utility points are optimal to be able to kite a few players around till help arrives? Once i know a proven setup i can then work at it.

I totally disagree, when i play DPS tank i can tie up 2-3-4 of the opposing teams DPS while my team caps. I can defend nodes solo and kill the guy coming to cap without the need to call for help. Every spec has its place, i wouldn't use it in rated but for solo queue its a blast to play
