So I got a reply to my ticket, but some idiot completely misunderstood my issue. This is the whole email...

I’m sorry to hear that your mission was stuck owing to an unavailable companion.
We deployed a fix for this in the most recent patch to the game, but if you’re still affected by it, we do have a workaround to get you back on track:
If you’re in a phased area, leave it or click exit area on your minimap.
Then, open your mission log and click on your Class mission.
Click on Reset, and confirm your choice, then start that Class mission again.
I know we do not normally advise a reset of Class missions, but in this case it is necessary. Please be careful to hit Reset and not Abandon. Your Companion will reappear and you’ll be able to progress as normal.

This was even when I updated the ticket to say that nothing was fixed in 4.0.1. I replied frequently stating in the email that there is no class mission for me to reset because I do not have one. Garrrr, I'm fed up and just going to try and call today and see how that goes, I'll update when I do that...
UPDATE: No one helped me over the phone, which was to be expected, I opened up a new ticket number 21220777 on the harbinger... this is getting to be really ridiculous
