  1. I agree with sentiment that it sucks to be facing 2 people or even 1 person at a pylon while 4-6 guys try to kill said person. I agree with it whole heartedly. It's not fun, its boring and it's one of the reasons why I hate Ancient Hypergate. I loathe everytime this map comes up for the simple fact that we are going to have an annoying said class doing that. It's probably why I, because I'm not going to speak on behalf of the some, want deathmatch pvp style, get rid of the pylons and lets go in mid and duke it out. However now, is not me harping on you but I'd like to know more details about this. You don't give specifics on what class is preventing you from capping which is leading me to believe in what I personally have seen. Now if you are speaking about the class being an Op, namingly Concealment Op, I'm in full agreement. I've seen it on streams, I've seen it in games where 1 Op can hold 4 players of capping the node. We can go into "nerf this class" and ***** and moan about how some want to nerf this class. Lets throw the 2 debilitate stuns, the 6 second roll out the window combined with decent heals out the window, considering they are using the debilitator set. I agree, 2 Concealment Ops causing that issue is not fun. Now if it's the 2nd group I'm thinking of, a Skank Tank and a Healer is another instance that can cause a 5v2, 6v2 hold. I will agree with you there if you were naming specifics but and this is a big BUT, if you are telling me that any other classes besides named examples are holding you guys off, then that's a communication issue, a "LTP" issue, a "I don't know their dcds, cds" whatever issue. That's just my opinion of what 2 groups can hold off people for awhile, I could name others but these 2 are more of the meta occurrence that I personally run into as to give examples.
  2. I'll just say this because all of our experiences differ from each other or some have similar tales. Here's mine: I started and only did mainly season 10. Now I was asked by Kogass just to do it and just to place. Season 10 at the time is when the Devs lowered the ranking of the bronze, silver, gold and platinum down so I was like "ok what the hay I'll give it a shot. I was on SF and I'm thinking that was before 6.0 was introduced. I did about 50+ matches on stream so everyone can see my failure. Prior to doing some Ranked, I had practiced my rotation in PvE flashpoints, MMs of course then decided to do some PvP and learned different/new things there which helped hone my craft, learn cds, pick different utilities that would help me survive more. Once I got more comfortable with my class (lightning sorc) I decided to just say f it and go do ranked. I streamed like I said and I'm not saying I get special privileges because I streamed, I had people in my chat who were very helpful to me because I was receptive to feedback. I never encountered any death threats or people telling me to stop queuing that I could remember. I had people saying oh well you should pick this or that, you should do this at this hp level and to me, it wasn't the same ego that I had in PvP, it was a humbling experience. My 2nd game in ranked, i got globalled in almost 2 seconds because I was the victim, I force barriered I think at 10% hp and was like "whoa ***, I never got globalled that fast ever" but I stuck with it and I didn't get very far as I got a bronze 10 but to me, ranked doesn't define me as a player, I feel like regs in my book, in my opinion is the proving ground. Sum it all up, I had fun, there was little to no toxicity for me, I had helpful people giving me tips, ones who played ranked and former played ranked and it was all and all a great learning experience and I took it back with me to regs where now I hate snipers/sorcs mainly and they are usually my first kill to target in a pvp match. Cheers guys.
  3. ^ This I agree with. The lockout is more of an obstacle imo. There are different instances and I really don't want to go through each of them because I feel like we have all been through most of them but removing the lock out, I feel like would be step 1. Next step would potentially give us a PvP group finder (cross fingers). By then, you pick what you want and then if you somehow have a. a ****** team or b. against a premade..just a couple examples, you can't really backout of that because you chose that and then incur the lockout penalty of x mins sounds fair to me.
  4. 8v8 imo would be interesting as I was too far late in the game to actually do it. I feel I run into, what are they called, hardcore objective players? objective enthusiasts? whatever they are called, I feel like they could do better in a game where everyone is trying to win, then it would make for some interesting match ups. Currently would have loved to have some TDM matches in queue as well IE remove pylon and orbs from Hypergate and make that a TDM but I digress. Half of us want a TDM and the other half just want to do objectives. I dislike the objective players on some maps because I didn't sit in queue for 2 ops to just a. heckle the pylon in the back of the map while the rest of the team can't stop them and b. run huttball non stop resulting in a 30 sec victory. A good back and forth scrap is hard to find now a days.
  5. I feel like there are certain days where more some maps pop more than others. I can't put it down to a tee but feels like we get a lot more of said 2 maps per day on different days. After my 5th voidstar or hypergate, I don't want to even to do more pvp in case I get a 6th of either or.
  6. Sorry for coming into this thread late as I just been reading and seeing what's good on these forums as I myself have been an avid pvper though not as long as most people here. I started to do some pvp I would say the first day that expertise was gone so late 4.8/9 and fully going in 5.0. Sorry if my timeline is off on that. I just wanted to share my thoughts. I, like a few others, I'm a big dpser. I just want to go into a match and just destroy people on my lightning sorc. I don't really care about objectives as much as others, quite frankly depending on my team, I'll suck it up and do objs, I have no problem with that but I just go in there to do "big dick" damage which I'm good at. For someone to tell anyone to "go do 8v8's" I get it but I'll do whatever I want in a PvP match, we can agree to disagree on that point. For me, it depends on the map that we play. Part of my obj is to kill x amount of people therefore making it easier to win or play objs better but that's neither here nor there. 2nd: To the gent that said he can do an easy 20k "come at me bro" that's very cool, I wish I could do 20k but that's never happened through out my history of pvping. I'm usually in the top 3 dps and the most I've ever done/seen is 15k but you seem like the type of guy that runs in a premade, just my assumption. 3rd: I will say this as I've fallen in and out of love with the recent pvp. 6.0 is a mix of love/hate. My own personal experience has been the upstart of premades from the get go. People are now getting into premades because they are tired of getting stomped time in and out by other premades so I've seen more premades come up (SF only). I solo queue most times and with the input of this "deserter debuff" it's not very fun for me as a PvPer to know that I'm going to get stomped on for 5/10/15 mins by a premade when all I want to do is at least do some damage, have a little bit of fun. Even when there was a premade stomping us and we were capping both nodes, hypergate for example, its still not fun. I hate this deserter debuff with a passion, it doesn't solve anything for me as a player especially when I get backfilled into a losing team and gotta pretty much either play or afk, majority being afk. The only work around I have in general is to leave the server and go play SS. That's my only work around to not having to sit 15 mins twiddling my thumbs because the deserter debuff is server wide not legacy wide. So send a couple toons to other servers to avoid if you want. And just adding to above point before going to my next one. I also absolutely despise hypergate and voidstar more so hypergate in general. All it ever is to me is an operative going to the pylon whether it be by him/herself or with someone to entertain 6 people that can't kill he/she or them. To anyone saying "git gud", I don't need to "git gud" I just don't like the aspect of 2 people holding off 6 people and me just looking like if this how the match is going to go and I get 5 more of these in a row of hypergates, I might as well not even queue up for the rest of the week because I'll be so sick to my stomach. My last point I think, sorry for the "************, moaning and complaining". I wouldn't mind of bioware fixed some of the issues, got rid of the deserter debuff or quite frankly made it 5 mins, made it so we can queue up for maps and put others to shame, created a TDM style map to please the people that just want to blow others up. I'd ask for premades to be against premades else where but then the queue might die so I guess I can't wish that. Maybe, idk, fix the actual issue of skank tanks and their guard. Bioware decided to nerf the guard on dps and not an actual skank tank when the actual issue was that a skank tank can guard whomever without the now 50% damage debuff or any debuff at all, fix what some of us were asking for.
