In SWTOR, there are a great deal of inconsistencies that I think we can all agree exist in comparison to what we know of the Star Wars universe. I've discussed one of these inconsistencies as being the lack of hum given to lighsabers under idle, non-combat circumstances. However, the topic of my current discussion is about the capability of force users to leap to unusual heights.
The lore of Star Wars holds that a force user is capable of jumping at least one story into the air to accomplish any given transportation goal. While there are in-combat skills, specific to the "Knight" class of force user, that allow the character to leap a fairly good distance to it's target, the force user is incapable of using this ability on demand, regardless of combat circumstances.
I feel that, in some ways, BioWare may have found this to be the only way to make the game fair enough to avoid annoying gamers who enjoy playing as non-force user characters. But let's face it, it is their choice to play as a non-force user, and in the world of Star Wars, they do not possess the capabilities that force users do.
If you are an avid roleplayer like myself, you might even find this element of gameplay to be unrealistic, and would even want to enjoy the capability to jump as high as physically, force user possible. I feel like BioWare should allow force users the ability to jump higher than non-force users regardless of combat circumstances. Maybe an added control that allows you to jump much like the gameplay in Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Academy. The longer you held the jump control, the higher you jumped until you'd reached the highest point.
I would like to know how others feel on this subject. Do you feel that BioWare should incorporate higher jumping abilities for force users, or should they not? Thanks for reading, and I hope to see all of your comments soon
