  1. Not sure where to post this, but it is kinda related to the new material. My Mission Log/Conquest Tab/Codex Tab which all used to be tabs on the same window have disappeared entirely. No response to L or Shift-L and cannot get them to spawn from the menu either. I even tried reassigning the hot key. Can someone advise me as to which file to delete for force it to install a new one? I tried searching this thread and forums in general.
  2. I generally don't watch the forums, I don't like that my forum name is my login name and I can't resist the urge to reply when I do read them. 1,000cc will make me stuck on one server unless I start with ground zero with a new character on a different one. The price is over 10x the previous cost! Why so much? I can't afford to buy coins as it is and the monthly allowance for being a subscriber is like real gold to me. One month's worth of coins I could do, I could skip my one pack and boosts, but 2 months? Not everyone can afford to spend a enough to buy a boat load of packs at a time, or a pre-made character. At least with a character transfer I could take the character I was playing to other server to do OPS or help a friend or such, and when I was done I could bring her back to my regular haunt. My first thought was that you are doing this to prevent the gold sellers from transporting money around, but they can afford to transfer no matter what the cost. I've watched gold farmers since WoW in vanilla, they aren't going to change because the price goes up.
  3. 2016-06-23 I just went to move a character from one server to another to make space on my server to create a new one. The cost was 1,000 coins. I can't afford that, I expected 90 cc. Guess I'll have to delete that one. I wonder why they did that?
  4. Unfortunately for the KOTFE quests we have been doing while waiting for chapt 10 someone with a wicked sense of humor made it required to go through Rakghouls to get the Imperial companion who turns into one. Same for the fool who makes us do 20 cycles of pvp to get the Trooper droid out of hock (seems like the same is true for Pierce)
  5. Think of it this way, the wait will be less for Chapter 10 the longer they muck around with fixing the server.... As for down time. I started with WoW in 2005, then EQ2 a few years later, then LOTRO probably 5 years ago. Not a one of them didn't fall flat on their face at least once during a major update/patch. One was even down 3 days - I wonder how many subs they lost with that one. I would, however, give real money to have a camera with sound in the war room for this debacle.
  6. 9 February 2016 Still seems to work. Windows Mobile 10, using the program Authenticate (Microsoft)
  7. Just took the time to actually stare at the crafting changes. Did anyone ask the players and the crafters what THEY wanted? After all, we pay to play. Basically my Artifice is obsolete. I made her to do enhancements with - nothing else. You took away her recipes and did nothing to reimburse me for all the thousands of credits I spent learning all those enhancements. I really don't want to level up other crafters. I really don't want to craft anymore period,
  8. I have an old, slow computer. So old and slow that I couldn't enter the NVidia contest that had a grand prize of a new computer - my computer wouldn't even load the video recording software needed and besides, my graphics are dialed down too low to look good. This in mind, I am having problems navigating this page: http://www.swtor.com/fallen-empire/home There is too much there. Several things move or are dynamic. There are a ton of pictures (anyone remember when we had to limit HTML to one or two pictures or do the thumbnail routine? That was about 2000 or perhaps earlier) and I can't even move around as my poor computer tries to download the pics AND render the dynamic stuff. If I need something it seems to be all down at the bottom, so I wait for the browser (Firefox, current build) to figure it out. This isn't the first time I have run across this, but it is getting worse as more and more content keeps being dumped on the same page. Perhaps an "alternate" page could be created, one that allows linking away to the graphic stuff by section and not trying to feed it all at once?
  9. I've reached the place where I need to do the Heroic 2+ Star Fortress Flash Points to advance the Knights content (sans the main story of course) My computer is too old and I'm too slow, or is it I'm too old and the computer is too slow? I am reluctant to simply queue or advertise for a group as people have gotten angry in the past because I can't keep up to their mach-speed pace. Neither can my computer. It runs about 11-16 FPS which kinda matches my reflexes for normal gaming. It gets old quickly to keep finding myself kicked from groups because I got lost as my video doesn't show dark passages and they think I am not even trying. I been playing this same computer for online games since 2005 - it was a great one then - and cannot afford anything better. It's been tweaked about the best an old laptop can be. I tried doing the 2+ solo and did fine until the last part where I must fight and move around the generator. When it gets to the part where I can't do it by being clever I die too fast to do it as the cliff notes tell me. It doesn't lend itself to dying multiple times and just keep picking away at it, it keeps regenning. So... two questions: Can I substitute the solo for the 2+ and still advance the missions? The next is retorical, why do they put stuff in there that takes fast machines and groups to be able to complete? I finally got used to the solo FP of the Revan stuff, but the way I am going I am never going to finishing this new stuff. I hope that the main story can be solo'd, I'm tired of making low levels so that I can do something in the game. Any hints on soloing that last fight on a slow machine?
  10. BUMP! I was happy when the update said that companions would get their original weapon types back, but oh no, not poor Aric's cannon. Instead he gets a sniper rifle (a WHAT?) Just for proof I still have his cannon in my vault - says right on it, Aric Jorgan's Cannon... Takes away some of the fun about having a Trooper.
  11. Here's what I do. If you look in the Travel section of the first Legacy part there are choices for nearly every planet. They cost about 200K cred or something-or-the-other market coins each per character. So far I have three SH - Coruscant, Nar, and Yavin plus the Legacy travel for ship, space station (Pub or Imp) and the new place, Oddessan. I find the call to ship used constantly, it doesn't take that long to jump to another place once I am on my ship. The call to station drops you off on the deck of the ship which queues for the group quests (mind freeze the name - FZ?), I find it has way less lag than showing up on the main floor of the station. You also have the ability to call back and forth to mission planets and mission givers at nearly any time. Kinda takes the challenge out of playing, but I'm lazy, I'll use it.
  12. Long list of shouts. First, I got the update done without grief, logged on with my pre-made, decided to clear out my quests in the consul of my ship and got locked up on some type of Makeb auto-play that wouldn't respond to ESC key (is that normal for that mission?) All I wanted to do was check out the companion consul at the new place and see just what a pre-made had choices off. After determining that it is locked up, I use the task manager to get out of it. So, I try to come back and get the choice of only playing on the starter worlds. Grrrr. So, after watching the install bar not move for over an hour, I switch to the other computer and logon using my F2P account so I don't have to put the access code in. It want's a "one time" password (they ALWAYS want a "one time" password). Grrrr. So, I finally figure out an email for one of two F2P accounts, gather the password and get in. After it updates that computer I poke around a little and decide to log on with my real account. Logged on, now it want's to RE-download the client? What is this? I just logged on with my F2P just so I knew it didn't need to do this. Takes forever, so I logged off and switched to non-bit download. Takes even longer. So I check my disk space. OK idiots, can't we do an update where I don't have to delete my original install - the good, working, reliable one - so that there is enough space to download and install the new one? Apparently the 46gb on the main drive and 80gb on the 2nd drive (an actual 2nd drive - not a partition) is not enough. Speaking of WoW, they don't do this. Speaking of LOTRO, neither do they. What is the deal? Already I have my irritations about the changes in questing, equipping companions plus loosing them, dealing with 16 mails and having no place to put the contents, and transportation. Please, install using smaller bites so that us who have old, tired computers with limited disk space can still play? The poor things would probably run better if the game didn't load every graphic it needs for the whole galaxy all at once (or so it seems) I routinely play, and fight, in areas where none of the NPCs render until I hit one with my saber. It gets lonely in the cantinas all by myself. It didn't used to be this way. Sometimes I swear that game creators are in cahoots with computer sellers... the games can't be played until the end user buys a new machine. Sad parents who have to satisfy kids with their pocket books. The developers have such uber machines to program with and they don't test what they create against those of us whose computers were good enough to raid in WoW 10 years ago but are getting kinda tired. I can't afford to buy something new. A short time ago I couldn't even afford someplace to live. Having a home office is a luxury I haven't had in many years. I still would like to game some, it kinda gets in your blood after 10 years and SW:TOR is what I would like to continue doing. WoW charges $50 for their latest plus $15 per month, LOTRO is wonderful, especially for RP, but it is kinda tame at times - I still visit regularly because I love trees and horses and Tolkien lore. I could rave a little more, but I'm tired. On top of not getting a working copy of the game on not one but two laptops, I lost 15 years of mail store besides. I have no idea WHAT I recovered of the mail store, and I can't just relax playing while I puzzle out what happened and swear at myself about backups. I've got another install that managed to log on with a F2P account, I'm going to try again to log on with my regular one. I'm almost scared to play my pre-made and find she is still caught in an auto-play for Makeb. I will file a ticket if that is true. I think I will use one of my own characters to check out the companion consul.
  13. Hum, what sort of hit would it be if they had one home per character (as do other games) vs. 4+ homes for all of them? The other alternative is one and only one per account - I've been in games that do this as well. I hate the word "stronghold". To me the connotation is dust and oil and blood. I get enough of that doing my (RP) job.
  14. I agree, I was all ready to Google "Temple Chair (Basic) Exploit" to see how I got it and what I could do to remove it. I haven't finished uploading the update (I have the game on two machines and do them one at a time) I didn't know there was even something called "Temple Chair (Basic)" or where to buy one. Is there an event going on? I'm glad I clicked the message link before allowing my panic to overpower me.
