  1. How hard can it be to understand that they do not intend to touch anything but dps and hps with those patches? Im pretty sure you will find another nerfhammer smashed at mercs soon enough.

I honestly thought they'd get that out of the way with 5.3. Evidently there's still some work to do on that front :(

  2. So I keep trying to put this guy down, but he keeps coming on to me. The convo I'm currently on is the marriage one. Damn, this is because I took one flirt option early on. I thought it was supposed to need more than that.

Anyone else seen this? Or am I have to wait until Disavowed to break things off?

  3. I think this would actually help out a lot. Actually knowing the numbers that the Devs want the classes to be at and what kind of data they're looking at to make the changes. Having something to go off of would be great. Because as of right now, the class changes just don't make a whole lot of sense.

And as stated, some of the operations bosses need to be adjusted in addition to these class changes as well. HM Styrak and HM Calphayus are the most prominent in my mind in regards to this.

    • Exactly how much damage is absorbed by an absorb shield? "A moderate amount" doesn't cut it.
    • Same goes for "high-threat" abilities
    • Oh, and threat dumps

Then again, it's not like the devs don't have a history of arbitrarily withholding important information...

  4. I just hope BW actually did testing on this, and isn't giving us an energy-negative rotation.

    "testing"

This is the combat team that gave mercs 4 lives and hasn't fixed it for 8 months (among other grievous errors), safe to say they don't test these. Remember how Sabo/Engi was apparently "swimming in energy" pre-5.3? Yeah, because +3 energy in 18sec is apparently swimming in it.

  5. I don't buy it

I have Theron standing next to me and he does not look like a pale goth with a cold like Lana does.

There was NO reason for them to use the old face, that is plain laziness.

Yeah but that's because Theron's face was originally made in Forged Alliances, when all NPCs had one of the standard 4 body types, but Lana's Fallen Empire appearance uses a custom model, meaning that they had to remake her face to fit one of the standard 4 body types.

  6. One of the biggest complaints I heard both on BC (when I was on that server) and have heard on EH by new players is they cannot do anything before they get killed. A large part of this is they dont understand how their missile evade works, what each ship does and how to line up shots on a moving target. With ground PVP you have 10 levels of PVE before you can queue. This allows you to learn how your character works. It is in essence the introduction to how to play the game (that is what the four starter planets are there for). The tutorial does not give an equal compensation for that. To be brutally honest I dont think anything other than GSF PVE is going to. The rail-shooter space missions do not handle like GSF,they do not have the abilities of GSF and you cannot control where your ship goes like you can in GSF.

Yeah, the tutorial level's pretty mediocre. There should be several tutorials:

    • Capturing objectives
    • Defending objectives (against AI enemies, including having to deal with drones. e.g. "EMP Missiles and Ion Railguns are especially useful for clearing mines. Select the Quarrel or Pike to get rid of the mines that the enemy bomber keeps dropping")
    • Movement (turning, strafing, stopping, boosting)
    • Dogfighting (against AI enemies) (includes explainations of weapon range, firing arcs, and firing/evading lock-on weapons)
    • Detailed explanation of how each ship works (descriptions in the Hangar are told from an in-universe perspective and thus aren't that useful). This might help people run Rampart or Spearpoint, since I've noticed pretty much noone runs those ships in Domination despite how absurdly important they are

Also, there should be medals for number of times an ally uses your Rampart's/Razorwire's beacon. Seriously, that is INVALUABLE in Domination matches

Ability to give out MVPs like in Warzones would also be much appreciated.

And PLEASE, give us the option to adjust mouse sensitivity. It is much too high for me and I don't understand how a flight sim lacks that control of all things.

  7. Customization of powers...ie animations, colors, styles (different if you have your saber out or not, I mean why does my inquisitor have his saber out half the time??), things like that. We can tune weapons, how about a slot for powers?

Oh and if we can fix the bugs where when you hit something with your weapon it takes pulling it out and putting it back before it reappears...those kinds of little things break immersion BADLY.

    DS Jedi use Sith anims?

    • Improve Companion commands: Add the following commands:
      • Companion follows the player, but uses abilities
      • Companion stays at their current location, but uses abilities
      • Companion stays at their current location, and does not use abilities

[*]Companions automatically leave enemy AoEs (some trash mobs move out of player AoEs; why shouldn't have our companions also have that AI?)

[*]Companion stun lengths are the same (currently Force-users' are 4 seconds, but tech-users' are 5)

[*]Standardise companion executes (that is, all melee have an instant activation, and ranged have a cast. Currently there are exceptions to this rule)

[*]Give back companion unique abilities (Wild Energy, Lightning Punch, etc.)

      [*]Hood toggle

[*]Repeatable rewardless quests for companions whose stories have been completed (think conversations in camp in DAO)

[*]Companions of characters who have played through Fallen Empire return to their respective locations on the character's starship

[*]Ability to add comments to character entries in a character's Ignore list

[*]When Character A adds Character B to their friend or ignore list, all characters in Character A's Legacy have their respective friend and legacy lists updated

[*]Allow dyes to unlock in Collections

      [*]Craftable Tunings

      [*]Explanations of stats in GSF

[*]In addition to the GSF tutorial level, add a target practice level, and a sandbox level in which all ships, components and crew are fully unlocked, so we know what build we want to go for before we invest several dozen thousand Requisition in it.

[*]Origin World strongholds (and please make them symmetrical)

      [*]Alts as Stronghold decorations

[*]GSF cosmetic items unlockable in Collections

[*]Valor-class Republic cruiser pet (Harrower but no Valor?)

[*]Utilies presets, just like Outfit presets in Outfit designer (so I can switch between PvE and PvP utilities quickly, for example)

[*]Pretty much all the ideas dscount posted above mine (especially the WZs issue - discrepancy of no more than 1 in each of the following:

      • Total number of players
      • Number of tanks
      • Number of DDs
      • Number of healers)

      [*]casirabit's Stronghold decoration freedom idea

[*]GalacticKegger's pre-NGE gameplay idea (to balance it out, lv70 players on Tat who pick this should be in their own dedicated instances, and have lv30 rewards to balance out defeating lv30 enemies as a lv70). Moreover, buff flashpoint and operation decoration drop rates to pre-4.0 levels (that is, for FPs, guaranteed at least 1 drop per run).

[*]Have the playable races share as many appearance options as possible (Humans get largest choice of hairstyles and facial hair - why not other species?).

[*]Wearing a hat or hood does not make the player bald (See Captain Orzik, Vaylin, and other NPCs for how to handle this)

[*](Warning: advanced craziness) Have the Appearance Designer also be available for companions

      [*]Nightblazer's GTN suggestions

[*]Sort items in cargo hold/inventory by name

[*]Return the legacy (that is, pre-4.0) trainer crafting schematics

      [*]MadDutchman's armour idea

[*]Increase the hitbox size of defense turrets, drones, mines etc. in GSF

[*]Significantly decrease hitbox size of NPCs (it's annoying not being able to click a heal console when tanking a Vet FP)

[*]Add a third PvP levelling bracket, such that the new brackets would be 10-29, 30-49, and 50-69.

If I can think of anything else I'll add it to this list.

  8. Actually, it's a net gain of 4 energy per Speed Shot / Series of Shots.

I know, I meant that I was updating my stated number for the net energy use for the whole rotation in light of the new info.

I think they realized that they can't call the Engineer a sustained spec and calling Virulence a 'semi-sustained', if the former uses a channel attack to trigger cluster bombs and the latter also uses a channel attack to trigger DoTs.

Exactly. Sabo/Engi is very clearly the quasi-sustained spec, and DF/Viru the sustained one. What, is Ruff/Leth also "quasi-"sustained now? :^)

  9. The cost of Speed Shot / Series of Shots is lowered to 16 energy (Jury-rigged Mods / Imperial Auto Loader). The tooltip of your skill isn't updated properly.

Just tested this, can confirm. Thanks for the info. That makes it a net energy gain of 3 if you use a 2-Thermal rotation with an autoattack filler.

This apparently means you're swinning in energy tho lol

  10. snip

You forgot the Saboteur's Utility Belt proc, which refunds 5 energy when Thermal hits, so it's only a net loss of 20. Also if you have a raidmember who can apply Marked, you can swap Vital with Flurry, making it a net loss of 5 (7 when 5.3 drops).

That said, you're still completely right that the spec does not, in fact, swim in energy.

  11. " Engineering / Saboteur was swimming in too much energy" & "We didn’t like that Engineering / Saboteur players might sometimes need to choose between using Takedown / Quickdraw to deal damage or Snipe"

Pretty sure whoever wrote these statements doesn't know how to play engi/sab.

Exactly. I have an Excel spreadsheet open right now showing a detailed breakdown of resource use for all DPS specs, and even with a basic attack in the Sabo/Engi rotation it's still a net loss (moreso if noone in your raidgroup can apply the Marked debuff, so you have to do it yourself with Vital Shot/Corrosive Dart). Seriously, especially after the other posted class changes, it's like these guys go out of their way to show how little they know about resource management.

Once again, reposting an earlier suggestion I made for this aspect of the spec:

Engineering/Saboteur has resource management issues; have Imperial Methodology/Insurrection be tied to Series of Shots/Speed Shot ticks, not Cluster Bomb/Contingency Charge detonations.

THAT SAID, the other changes I consider good.
