  1. Try: The Shadowlands The Maw Harbringer (This is the one we just rolled our characters for our new little guild. Population is really good there).
  2. The sky is falling.... So about these massive amounts of fleeing people; I started on two servers, 1 PVE, and 1 PVP. I guess I am the luckiest man alive becuase both are always pretty well populated with typically 150 + on the fleets. Recently, some friends who all play and I decided to form a guild together so we can help each other see all the content. We picked a server due to the name. I was worried becuase I had heard, but not felt, the comments about the low pop servers. Luck strikes me three times in a row (not likely). I roll a sith and there are 100+ people on KORRIBAN. So I say, hmmmm... maybe the free week population boom. I level and go to Dromund Kaas...whoa, what....150 + poeple there too. 160+ on th fleet. My luck hold true. Gang, I am simply not that lucky to strike three out of three completely at random. I think the server pop things i part myth, part reality that MMOs DO see a pop drop after the initial couple of months. The desperate cries that people are fleeing in droves just does not seem true to me at all.
  3. But that is not all there is. Look at the patch notes. + Legacy System + New items/ gear + changes to crafting with new crafting items to make each one valuable + new planet that is expanded with the new FP, OP, Wz. Then there are the other patch updates I would not really call new content. + crafting changes (yes, said this already but they are fixing crafting as well as adding). + Hi rez texture (yes, should have been in there) + Guild Bank (yes, should have been in already) + lots of class balancing + fixes, etc to FPs and Ops. + costomizable UI (yes, I know, sigh, should have been in at launch but it wasn't) I know I am missing a few things. The patch notes list on 1.2 is too long to keep up with.
  4. I played Tera and it had some good qualities in Combat and the characters/races. I guess PVP is pretty good. PVE was a total grinddest kill 10X and fed ex. GW2 looks great but the cool thing is with that no sub. I will play GW2 and SWTOR so I do not bunr out. The other interesting players are The Secret World which I WILL try out and Arch Age which is supposed to be a great sand box game but i dont think the last two will hit SWTOR very hard.
  5. I always like to have two MMOs running so I do not burn out too quickly. I am looking forward to seeing if GW2 or Secret World will fill that other slot as I have really stopped playing the previous MMOs I have played completely. I hope that Secret World is great as it has sooooo much potential and is entirely different than TOR, allowing me some variety in my MMO playing.
  6. Man, are we even playing the same game. I play almost everyday. How is it unplayable? My FPS is 50-70 with occiassional dips into the high 30s or 40s on the station when full. There is nothing wrong with the Hero Engine either. That is the mob mentallity taking over your brain in the same way people jump on and say this is not an MMO. There are bugs, as there are in EVERY MMO, and there are far less in TOR than in other MMO launches. The only one that was bad was the ability delay and that is completely gone for me now.
  7. Yes- I have played MMOs for many, many years and SWTOR has been the first to grab my full attention in a long time. I played RIFT prior and I enjoyed it but it did not fully engage me as does TOR. Just to let you know a MMO vet can enjoy TOR I have played MMO since Meridian 59 and the original EQ. I was in the WOW beta and played also played DAOC, Asheron's call, Shadow bane, you name it. I play TOR for what it is and not for what it is not. I don't try to compare it to other games and do the "what is missing" thing. I can't think of anything Bioware committed to that was actually missing.
  8. Already subbed for another 90 days. Just got my Vanguard to 50 but have not hit illum yet. I did tons of research and knew exactly what I was getting from this game so no let down. I have also been in many launches of MMOs and expected issues at launch. The only one hat was potentially game breaking was the ability delay but that is fixed now, at least for me.
  9. Doom and Gloom I tell ya. All will fail and the Earth will be devoid of life....soon. I hate Xfire and don't use. I am an active player and not counted. My guess is there are MANY more like me than not. I am an MMO player too so the more casual gamers are certainly not likely to be using Xfire. Things you fail to account for: Server load- they changed it to allow for greater capacity. making a once queued up full server go to heavy and once heavy servers to standard, etc. That happened a few weeks back. HOLIDAYS: I was playing like mad during the holidays because I was off. Now I am back working 10+ hours a day and travelling or work so I am not on nearly as much, which has nothing to do with my interest level. I think, between going back to scool and work this accounts for a lot. There is a natural drop off after the 30 days can be as high as 20%-30% in MMOs after launch or so history seems to say. I don't know overall but by the server I am on this drop off has not happened, at least not to that % level. I am on the Shadowlands server and in the republic. Last night there were 90+ on Corellia and over 200+ in the Republic fleet. Seems pretty healthy. Always at least 100 guild mates on at peak time.
  10. Not to me. The Shadowlands server is always busy....and I am talking the Republic side. Last night when I logged off there were 160ish people in the republic fleet alone and over 100 guildies live in game.
  11. The server my main is on (The Shadowlands) is almost always heavy at peak times and often off peak as well. Don't pay a tone of attention to the rest but none appear to be "light" at peak times. Plus, the uped the population cap so there may be more folks than you think.
  12. 180 X 1920 on a 302" monitor. Game looks great. Everything set to high.
  13. 46 and I play about 2 hours or so a night after kiddies are down to bed wife time permits. I usually get in a good 5-6 hours over the weekend too. Proud member of the Old Republics Dads guild on The Shadowlands server. Great, family friendly guild and we usually have 100+ people from the main guild on at any given time, even during the week. Makes me want to play more than I am able.
