I came back after a very long time away and saw that everyone just runs veteran flashpoints now for all their gear, it is rather disappointing it takes all purpose and reason out of doing operations and really gets rid of the endgame grind, I have absolutely no idea why they would do this outside of wanting casual players to be able to get the top end gear. It feels lackluster and doesn't feel like an accomplishment when you hit 306 and have all your gear perfected, which doesn't take very long it took me about a week and a half on my shadow to get it done. Now what am I supposed to do? Continue to run flashpoints and do conquest and make credits? If operations have no purpose and do not give better gear why should I bother to continue to sub? Giving everyone the top end gear for running flashpoints nonstop is not a solution to making everyone feel included, it cheapens the gear climb which this game had it pretty good back in 2.0 till about 4.0 it reduces it down to what can people do that requires the lowest level of coordination possible, I have always loved the operations in this game and was excited to come back and do them again but after this gearing process and getting to max so quickly it really took a lot of the fun out of it. Obviously this game has gotten a lot more casual over the years and has massively shifted towards that.
  2. Leave the stacks in for all older content. Why people tout off about completing ops that have been completed years ago on NiM is ridiculous, unless you did it when it was current content what difference does it make if someone gets the stacks or not? Current content should not have the stacks obviously, but 5+ year old ops? Gimme a break and let people enjoy the operations and progress through them. Server first and world first for these have long since been completed you aren't going to gain anything from more groups being able to complete it. Coming from someone who raided TfB on NiM when it was released and remembers what it was like way back when, let people enjoy it. It sure isn't as challenging now as it was back then. So take the elitist bs out and let people enjoy the amazing operations this game has to offer.
  3. Completely agree with the OP. Just finished uninstalling swtor and down to my last sub day in swtor. Had fun times from early access all the way through the content droughts, to the expansion release. Time to hang up the hat on this one.
  4. You could say that Swtor isn't very original in their armor choices either. Recolors don't change anything on the armor. If you honestly think 1 armor set will make a game unoriginal you must be clueless.

  6. Wildstar will have plenty of content to keep people playing. Not to mention most people going there for raiding, won't even be starting raids for atleast the first month. If you are going to say a game has little to offer atleast look at what the game has.
  7. Doesn't matter which forums I post on. Last I checked this was the off topic section so it honestly doesn't matter. Just seeing others opinions and see how much mis information gets spread about.
  8. There is already matchmaking taking place. Even in practice ground. You get an average gearscore for the group you que with and play with people around the same gear level. In ranked it works the same way but with ratings. There won't be a mistake on the matchmaking front, because they know they have to get it right to keep an actual active pvp crowd.
  9. Warplots are pure awesome. If you haven't seen any vidoes of people playing them. Watch them. As far as other ranked arenas go. The telegraphs are very manageable in arenas because it is small group content. In 10v10 ranked it can get a little hectic if you have no idea what to look out for. As for the issue you have with amps. That is why rated pvp doesn't start till lvl 50. Lowbie pvp is meant to get a feel for your class and how you can interact with other classes dynamically.
  10. Not to mention people won't be touching the 40 man raid for atleast 1-2 months. There might be Method or Blood Legion doing it. The other hardcore guilds won't be there. So it extends content for them really. Reading through the reddit AMA today it is kind of funny how many people were coming into that with a "this game has nothing for casuals" and devs answering questions for them and turning their idea around.
  11. While this is all true. It doesn't make it a bad thing. So far Wildstar raiding drew in Death and Taxes, Premonition, and CKN. All pretty big guilds in their own rights. Yes the solo game will be something that is actually pretty heavily expanded upon. They have already talked a little tiny bit about the first content patch. My whole point is that no one is barred from raiding in this game.
  12. I still cannot figure out why BW would go with 4v4 instead of the normal 2v2 3v3 and 5v5 that so many people have become used to. 15v15 warzone would probably do pretty well. It is just kind of sad that competitive pvp has come down completely to 4v4 and that is it :/
  13. I know how hard it still is to gather 40 people to do content. I am working on doing it now in preparation for launch. Some people have a knack for organization and some don't. With all the mini bosses they have throughout the raids you could make some good progress working through them and working on 1 major boss in a few hours, and still make some good progress and get gear. It is still about being entitled to raid. There is already tons of content leftover for other players that decide not to raid. The insane amount of housing stuff you can do. There are shiphands, adventures, dungeons, veteran dungeons and adventures. Finishing your path abilities. Hunting achievements. Getting more of the lore items in the game. If someone wants to raid, they can find the time to do so. No matter how short the time is. If someone wants to raid they will find time to do it. Nothing stops them from doing it. Carbine made content for everyone, but not all content is meant for everyone. If people cannot access the content that is something that is wrong on the players end. Not on the developers. They have given everyone the tools to be able to raid. There isn't some checkbox that says you have to play x amount of hours to raid. Everyone can raid if they choose. Most players are so used to just being able to que up for a raid now. Or have watered down versions of raids where you don't have to think and you can glide through. There is nothing stopping people from accessing content.
  14. There are freeform heals and there are targeted heals. Here is the problem. Everyone thinks they should be entitled to raid just because they purchased the game. For the majority of games that have released in the last 5 years that is how it is. No matter what you got to raid. Wildstar is taking that and changing it by making to you have to work your way up to raids. If you don't have a schedule that can fit with raiding there is plenty of other content you can do. If you really wanted to raid you would find time to raid. Even if it is 2 hour a night 2 days a week. You could still make progress. When comparing vanilla WoW to todays standards. A lot of MMO players were very very new. Not to mention how long it took just to hit cap in vanilla wow, that was a huge chore in itself. Getting ready to raid in vanilla wow helps attribute to the 5% that saw inside classic Naxx. Wildstars raiding isn't the grind that vanilla wow was just to raid. There is no resist gear grind in wildstar. They have an attunement questline that realistically is quite short. They aren't blocking anyone from raiding in Wildstar. People are blocking themselves from raiding. Too many people feel that they should get to see all the content no matter what because they paid money. The devs have given everyone the tools to be able to raid. It is up to the players if they want to dedicate time to raid.
  15. Single target healing does in fact exist. There are many heals that are only single target and require a target to cast. So what objectively is Wildstar. To me it is the game that is going to make people work to raid. Not everyone will see raids and that is their own personal problem. Not a problem with the game. Also when they mean Hardcore they mean time intensive and also difficulty intensive as well.
  16. The random they are talking about in the devspeak is talking about. Boss rooms changing each week, instead of the room being normal week after week, there could be adds that spawn from the sides, there could be a big river of lava that splits part of the room that you have to deal with, stuff like that. The other random part is. There is a pair of bosses in the 40 man that has 9 total different combinations with different mechanics for each pairing you get each week. These random elements are going to spice up raids. It will not draw away from the 'must know tactics.' There is only one difficulty. There is no story mode for you to practice the instance and get a feel for it. You jump right into the content at its hardest difficulty.
  17. Because quality raiders have no real reason to stick around in this game. Long content droughts. The same raids for 6-10 months. I can understand why so few players actually have it. Swtor could do a lot more on the raiding front to keep competitive raiders in their game.
  18. Making raids difficult is something that isn't done very often, especially with only one difficulty. There is no easy mode for raids. There is only 1 difficulty. Swtor has the easy mode, slightly less easy mode, and somewhat hard. The fact this game is star wars is the only reason it is still around. People will stick with star wars no matter what BS they put into it. The story is the huge overarching plot of what happened to a super advanced race being wiped out from their home planet, and the story following the exiles being on the run from the dominion, trying to make a new home for themselves on Nexus. The story is pretty solid and is told very well all the way through.
  19. Some people seem to have a hard time with aiming their abilities. That will be the killer for most people. If they can't just target something and not worry about moving and hit their rotation in a safe place, this game isn't for them. Honestly the dungeons have more skill involved in them than swtor flashpoints ever will.
  20. Wildstar is catering to the casual crowd by giving them adventures to run, veteran adventures at lvl 50 as well, everything in housing. Leveling dungeons aren't going to be raid hard, in all honesty the lvl 20 dungeons are rougher than lvl 55 hard mode flashpoints in this game. The level 50 veteran dungeons are on par with raids in swtor. The devs are making the raids hard, because raiding is supposed to be hard. Like it used to be. Not walk in spend 2-3 hours and clear the instance and wait till next week. That is the enjoyment of their raiding system. It is difficult because not everyone will be able to do it. I don't mean time wise either. People will not be able to do the mechanics, there will be a lot of guilds that will fall flat on their face when they reach end game content and realize it isn't anything like other games.

  22. All you have to do is look at their telegraphs. You could never something like that in casual old TOR. Everyone would lose their mind EDIT: and to throw ontop of that Swtor devs just had promises. Not things that were actually in the game. They had ideas. Whereas these telegraphs in Wildstar are like this.
  23. This game definitely needs to stir something up within the raiding community. With other games releasing with promising aspects of raiding and progression races, BW needs to make something happen here to keep their raiders.
  24. You could have found a much much better video to try and showcase your point then. This is all I saw in this video. Not sure how the medic didn't manage to heal this laughable dmg on his friend. Emission could outheal his PS dmg considering his lack of gear. But well he went for discharge and null field in support gear. They deserved to lose, very poor choice of LAS. Not sure what this video is for apart from showing an undergeared war beating geared players backpedaling or standing still eating everything for 10 min... The war even misses half his combos, like using KD after a full PS+BS in the wind instead of blowing it during it? KD + relentless building is useless. This is why i hate "i want to showcase facts" vidz because it's based on nothing but him being a hell lot better than the enemy, nothing to do with rock/paper/scissors, just outplaying.
