  1. I mean, that's perfectly reasonable and has always worked like this - Dark Heal is a very small heal, even in 5.10 I would have to spam it pretty hard to get even 50% of HP restored. And it burns through the Force HARD. If you want to offheal as a sorc DPS, you bubble the player, drop Resurgence on him and then carry on with your DPS, it's not worth spam-healing with Dark Heal at all. You are better off pushing out more DPS if it's a tight fight. At best, you just use the 2 I mentioned on cooldown if you want to help out for some reason. Personally, I think I have pretty much never used Dark Heal as a sorc DPS in many months. But I also rarely play veteran fps and that's probably the only place where it's even remotely useful. Like, if you are in a situation where you have already used all other defensives (for personal heals you have an amazing Unnatural Preservation, anyway), and Dark Heal is the only option, it's going to be a wipe either way.
  2. Arsenal has built-in 3% alacrity, so it has different alacrity requirement from IO. Accuracy: 1589-1591 for 110% Accuracy. Alacrity: 663 for Arsenal, 1213 for IO. Critical: pretty much everything else, Arsenal could stop at like 3500 and get a few Mastery augments instead (only for lvl75 content), IO can reach ~3300 maximum (there are not enough stat pool for more), which is fine.
  3. Yes and can even beat them in DPS output.
  4. There is no Power/Mastery cap in PVP but at what value you should stop adding Crit and go for Mastery is still not 100% clear. There is a spreadsheet on Theorycrafting Discord with approximate calculations, It is different for each spec but on average you should stop adding Crit and go for Mastery augments at around 3200 Critical.
  5. For DPS in scaled content you run Crit proc (Devastating Vengeance) and Alacrity clickable boost (Primeval Fatesealer) relics. You still use Lethals but which variation does not matter.
  6. I mean it's good advice but sometimes it might be awkward if the DPS actually survives Either because of healer being too good and not really caring about the difference between healing a tank or a DPS, or because that DPS is someone like a merc who can survive on just DCDs for a while.
  7. Only on lvl75. When doing any scaled content, you will be at the Power cap even with full Defense mods.
  8. I could have mained a healer, if I could solo with it. But it is just much more effective to re-spec to DPS when doing your daily solo grind. And then you end up only playing healer in group content. Not really maining it, is it? So for healers I just have some alts which I log only when i want to heal or somebody asks me to. You just can't do "all content" effectively as a healer. I wish healers had better damage dealing capabilities... Tank + DPS companion works really well though, and sometimes I feel like I am clearing dailies/heroic even faster than with my DPS. So maining a tank seems totally possible. People just choose not to.
  9. Why not try Imp side? Some different weapon selections, some potentially better voice actors. We also have cookies.
  10. Way too overreact, haha. Also what the hell have you been doing for 7 years, if it's hard to find 1 million credits?
  11. Clearly, he isn't going to listen and change anything. Or back his claims with some real proof. I suggest we all just stop posting in here and let him have the time of his life. Let him post whatever he wants for whatever reason he does this whole thing. If some people are going to follow his stat distributions for some reason and do lower DPS, that's on them. Plenty of real guides out there that are backed by real math and real parses. Smart people will find those if they want. As he states himself, he is just "observing" things, even if his methods are flawed. So, whatever, let him continue his observations. May be one day he will finally arrive to the real numbers.
  12. Stop spreading misinformation. Armor Penetration is in no way even near Weapon Damage amp. If you count all the damage you do inside Ferocity, you will see around a 50/50 split. So yes, roughly 50% of your damage is already ignoring Armor (every single Vicious Throw, Devastating Blast, Gore and Ravage).
  13. It has always been the case. Every 10 ranks gifts drop in effectiveness. What I do is get to rank 30 with green/blue and then use only blue/purple.
  14. DF with Precise Targeter plays almost exactly the same way the class was in 5.X. The fact that switching to SS solved your issues means that you were not playing DF that well (no offense). But anyway, unless you are full on PvPer, you should be using Established Foothold set. It is miles better than Precise targeter in terms of damage increase AND also makes energy management non-existent.
  15. Yes, it seems like Furious Power has some kind of ICD on stack consumption. Even for DPS specs, for Rage, for example. If you do Furious Power -> Vicious Throw -> <anything that is supposed to use a stack>, you won't actually consume a Furious Power stack with that 2nd ability. That's because Vicious Throw deals damage at the end of the GCD, and the stack is consumed only then. So by the time you use your 2nd ability, this ICD is still not ready and that ability is not going to consume a stack. Observed it with Rage opener: Force Leap + Enrage -> Raging burst -> Furious Strike -> Vicious Throw (War Bringer) -> Obliterate -> Obliterate is not affected by Furious Power in that case... So I had to move Vicious Throw a bit further. Force Leap + Enrage -> Raging burst -> Furious Strike -> Obliterate -> Vicious Throw (War Bringer) -> <here I can even use something like Sundering Strike, not consume a stack and save it for the next Furious Strike> So yes, in your example Retaliation is not consuming a stack. But there is another problem with that opener. As you can see, you have Vicious Throw -> Ravage, so it's the same example as I just mentioned. But you do consume a 3rd stack with Ravage. Why? Well, because Ravage hits 3 times and you consume a stack on like 2nd or 3rd hit, I think. So, if you had something like Enrage > Force Charge > Furious Power > Crushing Blow + Retaliation > Backhand > Vicious Throw (requires War Bringer utility) > Vicious Slash or any single hit melee attack, you would probably consume only 2 stacks with that opener... I kind of like the Vicious Throw part myself. It allows me to throw a trash weapon skill after Vicious Throw and not consume a stack, and then use it on a harder hitting skill (which, for example, just came off cooldown). But Retaliation in Immortal is always going to completely miss Furious Power, for better or worse.
  16. Well, no one forced you use 15mil on one... I stop re-rolling at 30k, and just get a new mod. Currently I have these Gold armoring amps: full set of Armor pen, full set of Periodic, full set of Medtech + extra, half of a Weapon Expertise set ( I was focusing on getting those first, if saved every single gold amp, I would have had an even bigger variety of amps available). Sure, it's a credit sink but to me it has been ok so far. I am not a rich player at all, never had more than 400mil credits at once.
  17. The only thing Presence does is increase your companion's effectiveness. So without a companion Presence is useless. I suggest ignoring stims until you get to the endgame ones. There is literally no point wasting your credits on low levels stims/adrenals.
  18. There is nothing P2W about this because this game is first and foremost a subscription-based game. Subs have 0 limitations, literally everything available in the game can be earned without spending anything extra. F2P is not the base game mode, you are not supposed to have everything available to you. What would be the point of subbing, if you could do everything for free? SWTOR's F2P is extremely generous compared to most other MMOs, especially to other SUB-based MMOs like WoW and FFXIV. You have hundreds of hours of story content available for free and a decent amount of group content as well. If you want to seriously participate in the endgame, you need to be a sub. It has been like this since release, and is not going to change anytime soon. And another thing, after numerous changes to F2P mode over the years, you now have like 2 times more stuff available to you now than at the release of F2P mode. Even before the most recent changes, I myself played as a preferred for a pretty long time and enjoyed the game nonetheless. You can also earn some unlocks for yourself during the time you are a sub, so your gameplay as preferred isn't so limited.
  19. Then your average gear rating isn't actually 290. Characters I play are 306 geared, I never get anything below 302. Like 95% of the gear drops are 304 and 306. Check you average Item Rating on your character sheet. It also kind of depends on your lowest gear piece rating, as well. You might have a couple 270 - 280 rating pieces equipped, so the game is trying to give you upgrades for those slots. Make sure you always have the highest rating items equipped.
  20. 1) Enough damage for what, exactly? 2) They are more on the squishier side but with a healing companion in solo, or a healer in group you'll be fine. 3) a) Tank - definitely a DPS stance companion. You should have enough survivability in most cases. Especially if you get yourself a reusable medpac and Life Warden tactical to heal up between packs of mobs from time to time. b) Skank - DPS should work in most cases, you will kill things even faster, so lower survivability won't be that noticeable. c and d) As a spec with almost no self heals, you have no choice but to use a heal companion. The only specs that can reliably run with a not-healer companion would be off-heal classes (sage, commando, scoundrel) and may be guardian, if Focused Defense is enough. But it will depend on what content you are doing, sometimes even off-heal classes will have to use a healer companion.
  21. Trishin works only for tanks. Shielded in that case means shielded by the tank shield, not abilities. But anyway, it's total crap as it's damage is very weak. Best set bonus for DPS sage is Gathering Storm, it gives you a lot of extra DPS.
  22. There are like 30 sets available on lvl 75 across all classes. Conquest and weekly reward boxes constantly drop set pieces, HM and Nim ops drop set pieces on almost every boss. But most people just buy what they want for tech fragments.
