  1. I don't have a personal relationship w/ Swtorista & I'm not getting offended on her behalf. The inclusion of her & the partner tweet was to draw attention to the disconnect. Retweeting or even liking a tweet, takes less than 5 seconds & is a simple gesture. For a company like this, who actively has a program dedicated to Creators, to not even do the simple things, does not give me personally as a player any confidence that they will hold up to the much larger promises they may continue to make. All they have said is " All I can ask right now is allow us (the community team) time to process and evaluate 2020 so that we can set our goals, expectations, etc... for the new year." This doesn't mean that anything I have mentioned will be factored into anything in the coming future. This is just simply acknowledging that the post exists. If your house is on fire & someone is telling you its on fire but you don't do anything about it, its still a problem that your house is on fire. There are consistent problems that have existed for years & they have not been addressed. Forgive me for asking, but what confidence do I have that they will fix the issues I have mentioned?
  2. the dates are marked 2019. that latest that has come from this year (2020) was peters.
  3. I've been apart of this community for many years. I've seen the game & community change so much. Some for the better & others for the worse. Here we stand, the 9 year anniversary on the horizon. Promises of great changes have been made, but can they, will they, be delivered? I believe strongly in the phrase "put your money where your mouth is" , especially when there is a track record of not backing up what you say. Exhibit A: Directly from the SWTOR Community Forums & Community Team - "To kick things off, we're going to begin a bi-weekly series of showcase articles, highlighting each of our creators within the program, starting today. You'll get to know who they are, what type of content they create, and what you can look forward to in their communities. The articles will be hosted on SWTOR.com and promoted across our social channels, as well as the game launcher itself." A "bi-weekly series". That's a big commitment to make your current Content Creators & the future ones that may apply. Not to mention, making such a promise to the community. It will also require a good amount of time to contact these creators, ask them the questions, put the article together, add in hyperlinks to their different platforms (if you choose to do that), post the article to the forums, & then add the article to the launcher. Exhibit B: Dates of each Meet the Content Creator article since this promise was made - Swtorista: 04.09.2019 Vulkk: 05.08.2019 SWTOR Escape Podcast: 06.12.2019 Kid-Lee: 07.22.2019 Xam Xam: 09.17.2019 PeterTheSelkath: 11.10.2020 As you can plainly see from the dates these articles were posted, they have not kept their promise of a "bi-weekly" release. The latest one taking OVER A YEAR to publish. The Community Team has done a great job letting us know of NEW content creators joining them. Which is great for the community, we get to branch out & meet meet new creators! But what about the ones who have been doing this for a longtime? Is there a minimum requirement for content creation? Are you forever a SWTOR Content Creator even after you stop making content of the game? Exhibit C: Sechari - https://twitter.com/iamsechari This might have been a great Content Creator! But are they still one? This is on the official website, the others on the list are, why doesn't this one work? I'm also sure several of the names on the Content Creators List look very familiar to a lot of longtime community members, but where are they now? Are they still making SWTOR content? Have they moved on from SWTOR? Exhibit D: Directly from SWTOR.com - "This forum post will serve as a living list of all of the active content creators that are officially in our Content Creator Program. With the list below you can find links to their content, as well as links to their Content Creator Feature article, where we interview them to learn more about who they are and the content they create. Swtorista (Content Creator Feature) Vulkk (Content Creator Feature) SWTOR Escape Pod Cast (Content Creator Feature) Kid-Lee (Content Creator Feature) Xam Xam (Content Creator Feature) Bad Feeling Podcast SOTOR Podcast Aviriia Kog SWTOR Central OotiniCast Illeva BoomyNation Stardust Legacy Sechari KissingAiur Working Class Nerds Loronline LadyRann Elssha Dr. Gameology This Week in Aurebesh Theodolor Sithlord Britt "A living list of all ACTIVE content creators that are in our program" One of the supposed "active" members, HAS A HYPERLINK TO A DEACTIVATED TWITTER ACCOUNT. How long has it been since some of theses creators produced content for this game? Where is the line drawn? They do provide a location for up & coming content creators to apply for this honor & privilege. However, the requirements are very vague, and certainly open to any interpretation. There is also 0 information shared on when or how long it will be until an applying Creator receives a letter of acceptance or denial. Exhibit E: Directly from SWTOR.com - "Are you interested in becoming part of our content creator program yourself? Please send an email to fansites@swtor.com along with the following information: Your platform information (YouTube/Twitch/Mixer/Website/Twitter etc.) What kind of content do you create? How long have you been creating content? Why do you think you would be a good fit for the program? Anything else you’d like to share! All applicants are handled on a case by case basis. While we can’t accept every applicant, we encourage everyone that thinks they would be a good fit to contact us!" Why are there no clear metrics for people to aim for? X amount of followers, X amount of views per video in a given month, X amount of subscribers on the platform? These are visual representations that content creators can reach for. Why are they not used as the requirements? Does the SWTOR Community Team truly interact with and/or care for its Creators other than what content they can produce? Exhibit F: Directly from Twitter - Swtorista made Partner on Twitch! That's an amazing & huge accomplishment!! Surely the SWTOR Community Team wanted to highlight such an accomplishment! Right? You can look at the Swtor Twitter account likes & see , they never even liked the tweet. They never acknowledged such an outstanding accomplishment from one of their senior Content Creators. I can continue typing away about the different ideas & ways to support content creators. I could flood this forum with many pieces of evidence showcasing the server disconnect the Team & our community has. But to what end? I can only hope that with the addition of an avocado (Jackie), that things will turn around given time. How much time? That is up to them & how much of a priority they see the community. Here's to another 10 years of SWTOR.
