  1. F1 (yourself)

    F2 player in your group

    F3 next player

    F4 last person in group

I have my heals set on the main hotbar 1, 2, 3, 4, etc, etc. Works pretty well for my needs.

I think you can change those keybinds to other things, if it is easier, I just use the F keys myself. That is just healing flashpoints, not sure how well that would work in an OP, or PvP setting.

  2. Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!

I've been working my way up in gear, and eavesdropped on a guild conversation regarding reusable stims. My heart nearly dropped when they said you must have 450 Biochem to use them.

I'd gone, as advised by most, Artifice (I'm a sentinel) and proceeded to love the system and get to 450. I don't use it at all. The costs of running my crew was too much, and I'd always NPC'd the wares I crafted. In hindsight that was an awful move, but I've learned my lesson.

Now I'd like to abandon Artifice in light of Biochem. Should I abandon ALL of my (450) crew skills to streamline this process? If so, does this mean I'll be running through starter planets -> end game for crafting items? I bet there are craftables in GTN for this, and I'm sure I'll become impatient enough to buy them.

You do not have to abandon the other crew skills you have, you could always get them on one of your alts, and mail materials to your main, but it would be easier to have biochem, bioanalysis, and diplomacy all on 1 character. You can either run around on lower level planets to skill up, or send your crew out for missions. If you sell the left over mats, and make the right items, you can make pretty good money off the GTN, to keep sending out crew.

You can always run dailies, and send crew out as you are getting credits. Which might be a lot better option, at 55 you could be making 500k a day off just doing those (not counting GSI, or space stuff).

Pretty nice breakdown of dailies here - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=747376

  3. What I did, when I decided to find a guild. I had 6 or so characters, and joined a different guild on each. Even ones that say they are the most active and friendly, I had found them to not be so... No one ever said hi, or even grats if someone did something major. It took me a month, but I finally found 3 really good guilds I liked. One saddly was in the process of losing it's leader, and was becoming very quiet, the other...they only seemed to want to PvP most the time lol

The one I did end up going with, I put all my alts into, always someone on, someone talking, seeing they do not have vent / TS. Most of the time if someone needs help with something, someone is willing to do so as well.

Sometimes finding the perfect guild takes some time and energy, sort of like finding just the right pub or hangout IRL, you gotta like the other folks who are also going there as well, and every guild is different! :)

  4. They don't even have reputation items in them LOL. The gambling packs are becoming more and more pathetic with each patch.

Main reason I only opened 2, one I just bought with extra credits I had... I refuse to even bother opening another pack from this new "set" for the complete lack of faction, and really really messed up "intended" drop rates...

  5. Since that is plural, and you said you are just coming back... just in case... You are aware that when you buy ONE of the cartel market crystals from GTN or wherever, you can unlock it in collections, so all the alts can use it, right? Unlocking costs CC but such a crystal is probably one of the best spent coins.

If you have no cartel coins, you can always just learn the crystal on 1 character, get a legacy weapon, make a copy, toss it in, mail to alt (repeat as needed). Pink might not be a very awesome color...but those are going for really cheap right now, seen a few for 150k, sometimes you can also find a cheap yellow/blue one (equally ugly lol). Better looking colors and ones from older packs will run a bit higher in costs.

Best thing I ever saved up for was unlocking 1 of these, unlimited account wide copies for yourself and your companion is just awesome! :D

  6. I am on Ebon Hawk, cannot speak for the other servers you are asking about, but no one requires you to RP on an RP server, just be nice enough to not disrupt or troll people who are roleplaying. The GTN always has a ton of items on it. Imperial side seems more populated then Republic, but I still see a ton of them running around when I am on that side. If you want to go off a rough estimate, there tends to be 5 fleet instances for imp, and 3 for pub. I really haven't paid THAT much attention to the numbers though lol.

As far as friendly / helpful / enjoying chat / lore discussion, I have always found that to be something in high supply on a roleplayer server over PvP or PvE ones as well. Anyone from JC or Harbringer can feel free to jump in and add to this or argue their own points :p

  7. One of my goals for my character is to become a master lightsaber artificer, when I go to my trainer to get the next level of skill it costs 10,000 credits. I can barely keep above 4,000 as it is. What can I do to earn enough coin other than the obvious things such as going on missions and such. Is there a particular method or mission that offers more credits as a reward?

You need 400 skill to even get to the point where you spend the 10,000 credits, by then I would think you have sold off extra raw materials from lower grades you are no longer making, or selling hilts, crystals, or enhancements on the GTN for some credits...

Selling the right level range, and quality, you can make 10,000 (or MORE) credits in 1 sale.

  8. Sometimes the GTN will load slow, depends on how great your ISP / PC is. There is also a good chance no one is just selling the part you are looking for, or at the level range you might be searching it at. Be sure under Category you do have it set to Droid, and then set subcategory to which slot you are looking for as well. You can always try the trade channel for a crafter, or if you are in a guild, there is a very good chance there is a 450 cybertech in it (if you are in a guild).

I've seen lag spikes make the GTN fail to load for me a few times, just need to mash Search, sometimes... Other times searches just do not result in any items found (helm slot for 10-20 comes to mind lol).

If you are on Ebon Hawk I can make you a few parts if nothing mentioned above seems to be working for you!

  9. Just make sure you look at the GTN before you spend your cartel coins, there is a good chance the unlock is for sale, for dirt cheap. Why spend your real money when you can use fake?

Think the only ones I spent CC on was the rank 2 and 3 of rocket boost, cause they wanted some insane amount on the GTN.

And yes, 30 second rocket boost is awesome on many levels (who knew one would spend so much time in no mount areas)...

  10. Just hit 55 myself, on my Mercenary (my very first character!!!), not sure if you are, or if you are 50 still? If you just hit 50, head to Fleet, and find the Makeb commendation vendor, hopefully you had 100 coms sitting around, you can almost buy a full set of 140 mods for yourself. I went and did Section X, for the HK quest, then ran around and got those parts, might of been worth a level or two, and a cool companion in the end. After that was running around Makeb, seemed like decent exp, and money. With a full set of 140 mods, I was soloing pretty well there.

If you are 55, you should head to Section X and get the breadcrum quest to go to Oricon. The story quest will reward you with pretty nice 156 stuff. (If I recall, just did them last night the first time) I am not sure how much fun this place would be solo, but it was a blast with my 2 guild mates. Also went pretty quick. I did see some others running around doing things solo, but no idea on how geared they were compared to myself, a fresh 55.

You might find this guide helpful http://dulfy.net/2013/09/29/swtor-oricon-missions-guide/

According to my guild members who were helping me out with that, I could jump into OPs at that point, and need on anything that is an upgrade.

Not sure on the PvP questions though, I hate PvP, and do not do it. If it is like any other MMO I have played in then PvP gear is going to gimp you in a PvE setting, and visa versa.

  11. What is the cost to unlock it to the rest of your characters? I never used the "Collection" before. CC? Credits? Free?

You add item to collection, then log onto an alt, and spend CC to unlock it, then that item can be made copies of, unlimited, for your whole account!

The price...I...cannot remember for some reason :(

  12. If you and your companion are wearing 35-43 gear, you are fine. Some others are going to have more health, some will have less. As long as you are not struggling, or hating the game cause of how that class plays, then you are good!

If you are in full 43 stuff, and those are your numbers, the only way to get better stats is using blue or even more so purple, but to be honest, till 50, that is more or less a waste of credits, unless you are lucky on drops and get showered with loots.

A player in full greens can level just fine from 1-50. Not sure about 50-55, I had almost full Makeb mods when I hit 50. You might want to start thinking of saving up your planetary comms before hitting that level, you need I think 140 or so, for a full set of mods. Before then, I wouldn't worry to much about stats.

If your gear is fine, but you find killing slow, you might need to consider a different companion with you, or a change to your spent skill points.

  13. One of my concerns with the statues is that my impression is that the supply is finite. I'm wondering if it makes sense to buy them now before the prices go even higher or they're gone altogether. Most of the other unlocks, even if more valuable seem like they'll be available longer. Any thoughts?

That gets inflated quick in price can drop fast if they decide to toss the packs back on CM for cheap again. You will never know when this might happen, which is why the resale game can be a HUGE gamble. If you see a holostatue around 500-700k, that is a good deal, I would grab one. They seem like they sit around the 1-1.5 mill area (at least for the past 4 months or so, I have watched them). This price can go up or down, depends on supply / demand / your server.

That's awesome. I had never seen that animation until I just googled it a min ago. I'll have to look into those.

There are more :D - http://tor-fashion.com/toys/ (each links to a video on the animation as well)

This is also an awesome website, if you want to see all the collection items in the game, online. :)

I don't have these, but I have a question. Do the account wide unlock replace the first tier expansion? For example, say the first inventory expansion normally costs 10k and the second expansion cost 25k (I don't remember the exact prices). If I buy the account wide unlock, will the first expansion on a new alt cost 10k or 25k? I've been assuming it's the later, in which case does it make more sense to get a lot of alts mostly leveled before buying?

Each time you unlock 1 line, the next line's price will go up, so yea, account unlock will make your alt have a more of a cost. Not sure what the price is on those account unlock inventory things are now, but I was lucky enough to snag 10 of them for 50-60k each months ago. Considering the last line of inventory is like 200k (if I recall)....I thought this was a pretty damn good deal. I had no idea about the inventory unlocks before I had already bought most of the in game ones on my first character. Glad I found out about them before I started unlocking them all on my 15 alts

  14. +41 power crystal is really nice if you are going to level a few alts, I started with a cheaper one, now I own most of them, just cause I like the different colors available. They also work well for your companion, love the power crystals!

The statues, are semi useful, seems like a lot of planets have trainers on them...or you will end up on Fleet a lot. If you really need to train just as you ding out in the field, then you might like having them.

A really cool looking mount, might be worth the account unlock as well.

Anything you buy is really going to be up to you, what you want, like, or find more useful to your needs.

I run flashpoints a lot on my alts, so I got all those unlocks. I QT a lot, and use priority transports, so I got those, and the cooldown ones as well. I am always on my ships, so I got the GTN, and guild bank unlock as well. I also craft a lot, so I got the repair droid (who sells crafter parts for your droid). Just be sure to check the GTNs price on some of these unlocks, there is a very good chance it is for sale for a LOT cheaper then the cost the game wants for it....

I found the default regen for most classes kinda boring, so I started buying those up as well. Nothing like being eaten by a sarlacc to both confuse and frighten others around you :p

Might be a little overwhelming, but if you go into Collections, and just start looking at each section, you might find something that really stands out. You can also preview whole sets, weapons, mounts, pets, color crystals, there are a lot of items out there to collect, I am only sitting at 80% complete (maybe a little less now, new pack, over priced atm).

You might want to spend the CC to get Treek unlocked right off the bat, if I had to say pick this! She is pretty awesome, even more so for the classes who will not get their healer, or tank till a lot later. I mean, she is a tank who can heal/cure, who wouldn't want that, also comes with a full set of Aim stuff for herself, and a second set.... If you make a BH or tropper, that is just extra awesome bonuses :D
