Put me in this camp, as well.
I have a laptop I have optimized for gaming purposes, on a dedicated internet connection with no issues for other games & streaming services. I also consider myself a pretty understanding person on the provider side of MMORPGs. However, I had been trying to 'deal' with the game-breaking issues since 3.0. Like others, I had had enough of the long loads, phasing, UI, and even crafting menus being affected; everything set as low as it could go, and I still struggled doing instances with a friend & 2 companions.
I went through every fix possible - on official and other threads (had the internet company come out, took my rig in for a physical cleaning & checkup, etc.) Because it was only THIS game - and one which has my dedicated hobby gaming time - before coming to the conclusion: it is not my end of it.
You are a company, trying to provide a product, and a service, and make a profit, in a very competitive market. After almost 10 years vested in Blizzard, I made the jump over to here, just over a year ago. And I love the storylines and universe you have breathed life into. I'm not a top-rank PvPer, I don't belong to any guild, I am not an industry insider running a tech blog or youtube channel.
I am a gamer. I love it like I love reading.
The subscription is, as far as I am concerned, a value for the money; I would spend as much just watching 1-2 movies here in Taiwan (not taking into account parking, snacks, etc.). But . . . that is for an enjoyable gaming experience. And I - like many others - have lost that.
I thought, post-Rakghoul event, the revert might fix things. But it hasn't. And now, I look at my subscription and occasional micro-transactions for cartel coins, and I am thinking: I'd be better off going back to WoW, or exploring other games via Steam.
I can't, in good conscience, advise my students or friends to join me in the state things are.
If you are pushing out mid and low-end system specs, then tell us. If you are pushing out FTP, then tell us. But not fixing it and not keeping it a VERY regular 2-way channel is not helping anyone. We all have our limits, and I've just about hit mine. From everything else I have run across, lots and lots of others feel the same.
