  1. It hasn't and won't be.

When they merged the servers many went over the character cap for their server and can't make new characters without purchasing a LOT of char slots.

EG. Beregin Colony and Harbinger merged, I had a char cap of roughly 40 toons per server but had 40 on each. Those 80 characters on the 2 servers merged together. Now I have 80/40 on Satele Shan and would have to purchase 41 slots just to create one new toon.

Firstly, you're saying because YOU, have this issue, we should all not enjoy the event? lots of people are nowhere near the character cap, and don't have this issue.

Secondly, I'm sure they could provide people with a free character slot for the event if they decided to bring it back, and a large portion of the swotr population could not participate for this reason.

Thirdly, there are ways around any problem. Making a blanket statement assuming, that, well, cause some people have an insane number of characters, we can't have an event many of us loved. this is ridiculous.

Fourthly, if some people can't participate, um tough?

  2. Well, not quite. You've chosen the only logical ones. Nobody would use Empowered Restorer set with the Slow Mercy tactical — it's pointless.

And, yet again, Endless Offensive + Elemental Convection is the only player's option that can make Volt Rush be usable. That lead us to

OK. So, if I don't want to specialize in AoE I shouldn't use Volt Rush at all ? Not even put in on my action bar ? Is that your new philosophy ?

Well then, what a new expansion can offer to me if the only new thing is for a different specialization ?

And even if I do, what I suppose to do while collecting the set pieces and tactical ?

Or in 7.0+ (assuming all the doom predictions are false and we would get 7.0) ? Are you going to remade the abilities again ?:( (That is one of the reasons I left WoW, Blizzard can't stop from remaking classes in every single expansion. )

Won't it be late then ?

It's not like you can tune the numbers and suddenly everyone's happy. The new ability is a joke.

Get rid of the 10 sec. cooldown between Force Storm procs Lightning Storm and there won't be any need for the Volt Rush + Endless Offensive set + Elemental Convection tactical ! Just do this already, there is no need for some new complicated ability, “charge” system or not. I'm sorry, but abilities should be for players to use, not for the developers to praise their ego. :sy_darkside:

Valkorion's Phase Teleport would be so better choice compared to the Volt Rush. ;) Accompanied by the ability to freely mark the location for the Phase Walk and/or mark several locations for the Phase Walk and jump between them. :o

And, for Force's sake, can you, please, PLEASE, stop using Force Speed as an opener for various DPS abilities ?! Does nobody use it, you know, to run faster or something ? Can't you chain damage dealing abilities to the damage dealing/boosting abilities and utility abilities to the utility abilities ?

    :wea_03:

I'd love to have that lightning drain ability Valkorion has, so, so cool. Volt Rush is really a joke. What a let down.

  3. There's another reason not to bring it back.

It was a bore of a grind-fest dressed up as something new and shiny.

Kind of like ALL content since KotFE.

    All The Best

This isn't helpful at all. If you have nothing intelligent or thoughtful to add, my suggestion, stay silent. Some of us loved DvL and would very much like it to return in some form, if only to acquire the only heirloom gear in the game.

  4. Trixxie, your WoW Classic plugging due to your disappointment in SWTOR and how the devs dealt with very specific issues you encountered is becoming a little tiresome to be honest.

I understand why you are disappointed in SWTOR and decided to cancel your subscription, but you seem to go out of your way now to devalue everything SWTOR by promoting the massiveness of WoW Classic. Let's be real here, the allure of WoW Classic is not because of superior game design via simplicity or making you work for stuff and most certainly not because it is less grindy or offers more content compared to SWTOR - to the contrary - but because it is walking down memory lane with an MMO that shaped an entire generation of gamers when it comes to online gaming.

Blizzard in its confused state of being part of a big stock corporation tries to monetize nostalgia and invested heavily in a massive promotion campaign through very popular streamers in order to keep their subscriber base that is disappointed/burned out with the latest WoW iteration. There is absolutely no wonder why you only need to be subscribed to the current WoW to automatically get access to WoW Classic and I really don't see any valuable insight the devs could get in their approach to SWTOR by looking at WoW Classic and its customer base.

    very well said.

  5. Nerf comp healing into the ground so that players learn what a DCD is.

and watch them all quit. World of Warcraft took away nearly all player power in BFA, to, in the devs words, force people to play together. Everyone quit instead. Learn from that mistake.

  6. Hey folks,

Some quick details on what you are seeing. We did make changes to Companion healing but this should not necessarily result in a nerf to them. In the current live game Companion healing is very strong but it also appears to be so strong to the point that you may play certain content and barely see your health bar move.

We made some changes to Companion healing abilities and timing so that although their healing is roughly the same, it has the appearance that you are actually taking damage. Ultimately, what we would want feedback on is does it just appear that you are getting less healing / in more danger, or are you actually dying in places you wouldn't have previously.

Share your thoughts and thanks for raising this!

I want, companion healing to be super strong. I remember how horrible it was to solo anything way back when, when companions were terrible. If I am a solo exclusive player, what reason do I have to keeping paying you money every month for a game I can't play the way i want to? see my point?

  7. God you all just want solo content, thats what ruined this game.

No, it's what's kept a lot of us playing. I want to play with other people about as much as I want to chug sewage. Companions should heal more, not less. Even better, let us use two companions at the same time.

  8. While I appreciate enthusiasm, I’ve also played this game long enough to know that every time major changes come, the game loses half of its base. This time, there will not be half to lose again. I’m afraid y’all are going to trade the players you currently have while chasing players you’ll never have. It happened in Galaxies, where Lucas pushed an ill conceived change to make things more accessible in a very well established, long in the tooth game. This game is just as aged at this point as that one was, but y’all are ready to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Everything I’m reading says you’re throwing away pretty much everything, and hoping this new stuff takes, by talking about it. Umm, ok, I guess? I reckon the better question would be: Why? What is this doing to the game that is missing now? What are we gaining that we don’t have now? Another button to press? I don’t think anyone was too worried about that? Change for the sake of change, is why this game never became popular. No one could trust that their progress meant something, or that their companions that they put their hearts into were taken away, changed to three role zombies. I’m still here, yes, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t seen the effects of -massive- changes to gameplay have had already (5.8 being the most recent travesty).

One thing I’m certain of, the day after release, if y’all aren’t quick to address bugs and shortcomings, you’re -absolutely- going to lose people. You -cannot- take a year, slow walking fixes this time. Hooray for enthusiasm, but please, please be ready to fix stuff?

I appreciate that you feel they should be cautious, and that's good advice. However, the loot system is a mess. I don't think anyone could reasonably argue that rng on top of rng, is a good system.

Right now, gear in swotr is unbelievably boring, difficult to acquire if you don't have 40 hrs a week to play (the vast majority of people don't), and since its one of the main, if not the main, form of progression in the game, that's a huge issue that needs to be addressed. I'm very glad they're taking a solid stab at trying to add in more variety and flexibility with gearing, always a good thing. That's something that's going to help experienced veterans and newcomers a like.

I don't think the change is for change's sake, i think, they're trying to fix the systems that, clearly, are not working. Now, what you said about bugs, let's hope they take that to heart.

  9. I watched the live stream and thought it was great, but i do have one burning question. I'm a very story focused player who enjoys leveling characters, and playing through story. I was wondering what new kinds of bonus experience gear would available? The last time we got anything like that was Dark vs. Light, which was ages ago. I also wasn't able to finish, so i didn't get the whole set.

Do you guys plan on adding in similar gear in 6.0? It would be really great if i could get access to more experience gear, and have it on multiple alts at a time, instead of going through the laborious process of changing them out. Just an idea, thanks.

  11. Looks exciting. I will say this, especially about the Nautolans, and species, in general. This entire game, from the ground up, was clearly designed for people playing human, and only human characters.

Yes, there are a few dialog tags, here and there, but for the most part, they barely exist. Compare that to the different races one chooses in Dragon Age Inquisition. Your experiences as an elf mage, are dramatically different, then say, being a human rogue.

That's the level of immersion i want, and I don't believe I'm alone. Now, redoing the early chapters is impossible, i realize that, but would adding in a few, "hey, you're a Nautolan, or a Twi'lek," or whatever, lines of dialog, be that tough? it would go a long way to making the species I just dumped 600 ccs on, feel a lot more fulfilling. Otherwise, you're really just wasting everyone's time, including your own.

  12. Is this a goodbye thread or just a rant one?

Regardless of which is it. Bioware is not to blame here for the lack of investment, EA is the one who calls the shots and unfortunately they won't ever invest that kind of money into the game unless a huge surge in subs happen which would be a miracle. Yes, but don't they also charge for the expansions? The last charged expansion was SOR years ago, both KOTFE and KOTET were unlocked just by being a sub. They have done graphical updates to the game, textures and the like, of course not on the level of Battlefront. I mean seriously not wanting to be rude here but did you meant the game should rework itself to look like Battlefront? Because that would be waaaaay expensive. I do agree the lack of content is sad though but what we have is what we're going to get until the game closes, EA won't invest in SWTOR like that. Which is sad, the devs can sometimes come with pretty cool things.

Yes, admittedly, its a bit of a rant. I see so much potential, and so much waste. I'd like to keep playing but i can't really justify spending money on an inferior product. It'd be wonderful to see major improvements (and bugs squashed) in the next expansion, but I'm realistic. I know they won't do anything.

  13. Dear Dev team,

I realize in writing this, its unlikely any of it will happen, but i felt it was worth at least mentioning. I was watching a history of wow on mmo champion, and seeing all the work the team had done to improve the game. Huge improvements to the game's engine, a 64 bit client, a re-do of all early level areas, and many, many, many other things. They charge 15 dollars a month for their game. So do you. See my issue?

I love star wars. I enjoy the world you've created. I've had many hours of fun. But staying, is becoming more, and more difficult. I simply can't justify spending money on a game that seems stuck in a time warp, when it could be spent on a development team that's investing in their product. More story is fantastic, but if everything else in the game is awful, you're wonderful story gets drowned out by the constant bugs, game play issues, and crappy grouping experience. Then there's the 32 bit client (gag) and the textures that haven't changed since i started playing six years ago.

I know resources are an issue. I know someone who used to work there. But i think, if you look at a game like Battlefront II, and realize what this game could look like? the huge number of people who'd return, and pay for a sub, its worth the risk. I doubt this will even be read by anyone who could change the trajectory of the game, but I felt it was worth saying something, before leaving. I wish you all the best.

  14. That's how ranked is designed for the hard core while unranked would not be. As far as operations I've never used LFR for it yet have been in many operations. Either from my guild asking or just by seeing an announcement on fleet chat. If you go to the fleet and watch the chat for a bit you'll see posts asking for people for operations.

my point is, content should be accessible, and it really isn't. The game should aim to be more competitive, not less. They're fighting for the same money out of my wallet world of warcraft does. Who do you think is going to win?

  15. Dear Devs,

I tried ranked pvp, lost, and apparently, i can only gain progress with the arena of death quest by winning? Do you guys like money? would you want me to keep paying you? Every time i try something new in this game, i discover it seems to be designed around a small group of hardcore players, and anyone else is basically screwed. The total lack of an LFR for operations is another good example. I love the story and the world you guys have created but stuff like this, doesn't really make me want to stay a customer. I've never even seen the inside of an operation. I keep playing swotr, and have bad experiences. It'd be great if Eric, or someone, had a plan to fix stuff like this. There's no queue timer either, like, seriously? such a basic feature. Thanks.

  16. To whom it may concern,

I'm a female player who's been playing the game for many years. I've come to the conclusion, however, that by staying guild-less, as i have since the beginning (like, going on 5 years now lol), I'm missing out. I'd like to run ops, pvp, and group with people, something I have very limited experience with outside of pugs (which were almost uniformly awful). I'd like a guild that's fairly casual but can also kill stuff, and has other female players in it (I don't want to be the only one). If you think you're guild fits those criteria, feel free to post here, and maybe we can meet up in game to talk. Thanks.

  17. So, annoying, to use hoods and not see the person's hair. Also dissuades people from trying out new hair styles at the appearance Kiosk, costing you money. It's graphically sloppy. Please consider doing something to fix it, thanks.
  18. Ditto. I'm a bit OCD in this respect and the constant blinking really bugs me yet I have 0 interest in doing the alerts. Please let us reject them or disable the blinking unless there's actually a new quest, then make it go away after the log/alert tab has been opened.

same. its annoying. Plus, being able to refuse class quests would be nice too. I really feel like this game tries to force content we don't really want to do on us, I'm thinking of Ilum, and not being able to get rid of it from our quest log unless we do it.

  19. I'd like to see the ability to start an Alliance Alert... get the particulars, and then Abandon the Quest... and KEEP IT ABANDONED.

...right now, I'm content to do them all, but I don't PvP, so I won't be picking up M1-4X/Pierce. So, once I go and see them, and decide "nope, I don't want to do this" I want the option to make that quest go away, and stay gone. Even if it's an "extra" Confirmation pop up. "Are you sure? You will never be able to recruit this companion if you abandon this quest." Yup, I'm sure.

also a good idea. As long as there was some option to say no to the companions we didn't want, for good.
